  1. Nice to see a good outing from Burnes tonight. It would be nice for him to get some things figured out and find his productive reliever status again.
  2. There's a BIG difference between throwing out the blanket "this team is not very good", and saying this team isn't as good as the one that won 96 games last year. Given the difficult first part of the season schedule, I imagine most fans would be more than happy to have the team with a record where's its currently at. Yeah, they are having a bad trip. They'll play better soon.
  3. LOL ... how long have you actually been a Brewer fan? Calling this team not good is an insult to the Selig-Preib years of futility. It’s all about expectations, or lack thereof back in the early 2000s. There were high expectations after last year, and this team is not as good as last year’s team. I also remember many fans saying the season was over after they dropped 5 against the Pirates last year. Saying this year's team isn't as good as last year's is one of those blanket statements that's also thrown out there a lot. Whole lot of season left to make that determination.
  4. Of course people can post about being disappointed during a game. i think its the blanket "this team sucks" or "I can't believe this is a winning team" stuff that gets old. But yeah, people express frustration in all different ways. Like I said above, I'm wrong. I apologize. Bash on.

  6. That is obviously part of the negative equation as well. Yelich has been terrific this season, but Moose is arguably the team's MVP so far. He's having a career year in a career that's actually been very good. A rookie 2B and a scuffling 3B stand no chance of matching that.
  7. Yeah, you guys are obviously right. Fans have every right to react any way they see fit. Sorry I brought it up. Bash on.
  8. I just don’t get this constant need to police how people react to games. It’s not just you doing it, it happens all the time here when people post negative thoughts about the terrible baseball they’re watching. You do realize this is still a 1st place team, right? Read these IGTs and you'd think we're watching the Orioles. It gets grating after awhile. I know, I know ... just ignore it.
  9. That has the look of a broken hand and a long DL stint. Fingers crossed that he can dodge that part of the bullet. That would be absolutely horrible for this team if he misses any length of time. Moose has been a godsend to this lineup this year, and that have no one to replace that bat. Yeah, Hiura would probably come up, but he isn't going to match the production lost to a Moose injury. Likely not even close.
  10. Holy crap you guys ... I get that the team is playing crappy right now, but that's baseball. The sky isn't falling.
  11. That's some seriously strange logic. Because pitching is a bigger problem it excuses not making a simple smaller fix? What I believe Brew4U is saying, and what I followed up on, is that calling up Keston Hiura is far from a cure-all. In fact, it can certainly be argued that the the offense doesn't even need fixing. Certainly consistency is as issue, but what prolific offensive team doesn't have issues with consistency? Would Hiura help cure some of those consistency issues? Yeah, probably. But so would getting a few of the scuffling, major league-proven bats going too. I think at this point it is safe to say Hiura will be back up soon, and likely for good. The Brewers need to figure out who exactly he's going to displace, and they need to exercise due diligence in that decision. We may not all like it as fans, but they are playing this the right way.
  12. This team is going to have games where the offense looks like crap, whether Keston Hiura is part of it or not. It was one game. Brew4U is correct in saying that the inconsistency of the starting pitching staff in particular after Woodruff and Davies has been a much bigger problem than a perceived lack of offense, one game withstanding. A problem, albeit smaller, is the lack of one more reliever that can be counted on in late-game situations.
  13. Welp, so much for that. He must be done health-wise.
  14. One of the reasons the Brewers pegged Josh Hader for a pen role to begin with was secondary pitches that either weren't strong or were unreliable. This appears to be the same issue they are having with Peralta currently. Yeah, he's only 23, but we were saying the same things about Hader a couple seasons ago ... that his work in the pen was great, but may not be permanent. Well, Hader has been so good out there that they haven't considered moving him back to the rotation. I have a feeling that if Peralta continues to dominate out of the pen, he may have the same fate. And that may be a good thing in the long run.
  15. Just means the team plays better against tougher competition. Primed for playoff baseball!
  16. Perhaps they should just put Freddy in the pen and leave him there?
  17. Isn’t Freddy Peralta lined up for a multi-inning outing tonight? Maybe they save him for later in the series, but I was under the impression he may pitch some innings today. Yeah, good point. I forgot that he was shuffled back to the pen. Sure enough ... he's warming in the pen as we speak. But with the double play, I think I still let Chacin go 5
  18. Nice efficient inning from Chacin there. I hope they try to get 5 out of him. Not sure who else they'd go to for a multi-inning relief appearance.
  19. When did this happen before? Many times over the years, like at Wrigley Field with the wind blowing in last year and this year, and in parks like San Francisco, San Diego, and others. This team was built to hit homers. That's just what they are. You aren't going to tell them to go out there and be a bunch of Skip Schumakers just because they are playing in a spot where its tougher to hit homers.
  20. This is starting to look like one of those trips that cause quite a few of the debbie downers and bandwagoners to jump off. While the baseball part is bad, that part may not be all that bad.
  21. This is also very much a hindsight is 20/20 argument. Yeah, Miley pitched very well for the Brewers last year, but you forget that he also missed a good chunk of the season with two DL stints. Chacin was good and dependable all season. There would be no reason whatsoever to trade or otherwise get rid of a pitcher coming off the year he did.
  22. That's not how contracts work. I hear ya', but trades are always an option, too. Chacin's trade value will never be higher than it was after last season. I'm not upset with David Stearns about keeping Chacin, necessarily. I would have expected far better from Chacin this season, too. What I am disappointed about, though, is letting Miley go. That's a head-scratcher to me. I'm sure they didn't expect Peralta to be a powder keg and Burnes to be a gas can either. Especially Burnes. They put a lot on those two, and they have been major disappointments. I agree on Miley, but it was never about keeping either Miley or Chacin. Chacin pitched like a solid #2 on a playoff team last year. He too has been a big disappointment this year.
  23. He has no options, so he'd need to be exposed to waivers to go down.
  24. Its quite possible that the Brewers' leadership just didn't see a good match personality wise with Encarnacion and the Brewers. Or perhaps they are setting their sights higher? Who knows? I can assure you that the people saying Stearns is asleep at the wheel are wrong, though.
  25. Awesome! Lock 'er up! In my opinion, he wasn't a good fit in Milwaukee anyway.
