  1. Isn't the wind blowing in? I mean the kinda of contact we're seeing mixed with the power of the lineup. At some point I felt at least one was gonna be jacked out. Let's hope it's just one. There could have been hurricane force winds blowing in, and that would have left the yard. That was jacked.
  2. So careful to Baez, then a meatball to Rizzo. I get it you can't nibble on everyone, but Rizzo is the one guy hitting well for them right now it seems.
  3. Nice work on the bunt. Have the Brewers had a pitcher get two sac bunts in the same game all season?
  4. His toupe has really messed with his mind. It's like national broadcasters think that the Brewers typically go to the pen after 3 or 4. I mean, that happens, but only when the starter gets in trouble or they need the pinch hitter. Like Counsell just said, Chacin is rolling, so stick with him until he gets in trouble.
  5. Well, talk to any Cub fan, and defense is the most important thing. YELICH WITH THE RBI KNOCK!!!
  6. Name a substantial player on the brewers that hasn't been on the DL? Shaw, maybe Aguilar. That's about it. All of Braun, Yelich, Cain, Thames, Pina have seen time on the DL. Heck shaw may have as well. Every team has had their injuries, cubs can eat crow. Let's goooooo!!!!! 2nd or 3rd best P going into the year has also basically missed the vast majority of the year in Davies. Heck, arguably the guy who's been their best starter this year (Miley) missed a large chunk of the season. Joe, just because the Brewers didn't go out and throw a stupid contract at Darvish doesn't mean that they haven't been affected by injury as well. Every team has.
  7. National exposure. HUGE game for both teams. It probably shouldn't, but could it actually come down to who plays better today between Yelich and Baez?
  8. If the situation calls for Hader, it likely means the Brewers are nursing a small lead, and they are trying to shut the Cubs down. If the pen pitches well in that situation, Hader would come back Thursday on his typical rest. I don't think he sees the mound if they are down or even tied today.
  9. I'm hoping if the Brewers pitch guys like Burnes, Soria, Knebel and Jeffress, they can be efficient and not multiple innings so that those guys are available tomorrow. I'd put Hader in that group too, but I just don't know if Counsell would let him go on back-to-back days regardless of how many pitches he throws. My hope is that the Brewers get up big early, and Chacin and Chase Anderson can get us through most of it.
  10. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/columnist/bob-nightengale/2018/09/30/cubs-brewers-nl-central-division-title/1482791002/ Such a weird story. "We're obviously the favorites, but you should feel sorry for us anyway." Bob Nightengale sucks. It's almost like Maddon and the Cubs are annoyed that they have to play this game. Like they should be crowned champs already. Well, Joe if your offense wouldn't have taken a vacation in two against the Pirates last week, and against Mikolas on Saturday, you wouldn't be playing this game. After reading that, I hope the Brewers crush them 14-0.
  11. So the Cubs win..........because baseball? 50/50 ... maybe 51/49 in the Brewers' favor LOL
  12. I don't care what Schoop did otherwise. If he combines the grand slam he hit of MadBum with a great day today, I'm chalking that trade down as a win.
  13. The Brewers come in with all the confidence of being the hottest team in baseball. This is a team that went down to St. Louis and swept a Cardinal team that was primed for a playoff spot. They exorcized their demons against the Pirates in the series before that. They've taken four of 6 in the last two Cubs series, and probably should have taken all 6. If the team that has been around since the middle of August shows up today, they will win.
  14. With the lineup they are putting out there, and with Chacin starting, it proves they are all-in for this game. If you lose, pick up the pieces and figure it out for tomorrow. Thankfully they can mess around with the roster between the Wild Card and NLDS if it comes to that. If the Brewers get out to a lead, it'll be all hands on deck bullpen wise. If they get down early, though, I imagine we may see the Bullpen B Team. Biggest thing today is going to be to either get to Quintana early with a crooked number, or be patient with him and get that pitch count up. The earlier they can get to that gassed bullpen, the better.
  15. I like this. Mixing the D and the O. LETS GOOOOOOOO. I'm actually a little surprised Perez isn't in the lineup somewhere. He seems to have gotten all the starts against lefties lately. Betting he'll be the first bat off the bench, though.
  16. Official: Cain - CF Yelich - RF Braun - LF Aguilar - 1B Schoop - 2B Moustakas - 3B Kratz - C Arcia - SS Chacin - P The typical "facing a lefty" lineup. I hope Schoop proves Counsell's faith in him correct today.
