  1. I hadn't heard that, but if that's the case, then yeah, I would just leave him in the bullpen. No need to change anything if he is already comfortable, has a preference, and has performed like he has.
  2. Personally, I'd at least talk to him early in the offseason and see what Hader is thinking longterm. If he absolutely wants to stay in the bullpen, just leave him there. If he would like a shot at the rotation, why not try it in Spring Training?
  3. These games have been a thrill for me. Sure, I stress a bit about it, because I want my favorite team to win and play well in victory. But for me, sports is entirely about entertainment, and there is absolutely nothing I can do to affect the outcome of the game. I have enough things going on in my life, personally and professionally that already need my focus, attention, and stress that I just can't go overboard on the outcome of these games. Sure, I will be happy when they win, and sad if they lose, but that's about it. No matter what the outcome ends up being, I'm just going to enjoy the moments as they unfold. We get to see the best of the best teams and players on the world's biggest stages right now. And this time, our Brewers are amongst them. How great is that?
  4. Speaking only to the concept, and not the specifics, if Milwaukee thinks they can convince a team with a true top-of-the-rotation pitcher under control through at least next season to trade that player to the Brewers, I'd say "Go for it." Since you can't predict the future, and we are in the middle of a season where the National League doesn't seem to have that clear run-away talented team, it makes perfect sense to try to enhance your chances to win a pennant in a year where today you almost have a good enough team to challange for one. If that means we have to pay a stiff prospect price to land that type of pitcher, then so be it. You have to give to get, after all. A for me.
  5. While Kansas City has some decent players who have value and could help us now and/or in the future, I just don't see where what the acquisition costs would make sense for us right now. It doesn't hurt to keep an eye on those players, or even have preliminary discussions though. If certain players on our roster were to fall apart or suffer injuries resulting in significant lost playing time, then I think the Royals would make more sense as a trade partner.
  6. I'd be most hesitant to move Arcia and Hader for anybody, but nobody is completely "off-limits." Just depends on who for?
  7. As far as I am concerned, if I am trading Woodruff, it had better be as part of a package that brings us back a real special player. Like if the Mets were willing to listen on deGrom, I would have to believe Woodruff would be one of the players we would have to send back. That kind of player. I ABSOLUTELY would be willing to trade Woodruff for deGrom. But who knows if the Mets would even take offers for him, let alone trade him. For a mid rotation type of pitcher, though? I would be hard pressed to move him even if he was the only player we would have to deal away.
  8. Addison Reed for me as well. We have more than enough payroll flexibility for his signing, and would still maintain adequate flexibility after signing him. This signing would allow the Brewers an opportunity to look at Hader for the rotation, or would give us a shutdown back of the bullpen. Reed also has closed some in the past, so if Knebel were to struggle or just simply need a game off now and again, we have Reed as a closing option in those situations.
