  1. Ando: One other thing. Don't use TABS when building your statistical tables. Be sure to use spaces for everything.
  2. Anyone still grumpy over the loss a couple of nights ago? Anyone think things have evened out a bit?
  3. It's a same that the guy who pitched the best today (Eveland) won't get the decision. If there is any Brewer who deserves a win, it's him.
  4. If you were being sarcastic, I apologize. That was 100% sarcasm on his part.
  5. If last night's game was a must win, does that make tonights a "must-must" win? Or will they cancel the season now? Or does it make tomorrows game a must win if they win today? Maybe someone could come up with a statistic to tell us just how much of a "must-win" game a given game is?
  6. Bill Hall would drop that ball 5-10 times out of 100 on some HS field in Mississippi if given the chance. I've seen Bill Hall butcher too many balls that most HS players play cleanly to buy that. Defense is a skill just like anything else. He's just plain not very good at it.
  7. If they are 15 games below .500 does anyone thinkl Brady would not have caught that ball the other night. Bill Hall tonight (that one's tougher to answer)? So Bill Hall was thinking about being .500 instead of catching the ball? And Brady Clark was worried about dropping the ball because he wanted the team to be .500 when they left home? These guys are professionals, and while I'd never claim that pressure doesn't exist, it shouldn't exist in game 115 to such degree it causes a player to drop a ball that most A-ballers would have turned into a double play. Brady Clark has never been a great defender, and Bill Hall has never been an average defender. Maybe that's the reason those plays weren't made.
  8. I won't say that watching them lose doesn't bother me, but I'm just not all that upset about the game tonight. Maybe I should be, but I didn't really see anything tonight that changes my opinions of this years team, nor did I see anything to change my thoughts on the teams future. There are just too many games over the course of 162 to get too worked up over any one game. I will say it's too bad that they blew Dana's second win.
  9. Yep, he signed, but Brian is waiting for the proper moment to spring it on us.
  10. I wanted to echo what Hoffy posted. While winning isn't as important as player development, to see all these teams winning during the second half with prospects, it's very encouraging for the future. I know the Brewers lost last night, but with the young guys in Milwaukee and more on the way, it's time to start getting really excited about the Brewers and their immediate future.
  11. Would it be wiser to decrease the font sizes, or would it be wiser to add a link to a screen with more real-estate like "extended stats"? That might actually be worthy of a poll. I'd be happy with either, to be honest, but some may not like a smaller font.
  12. Brian: I know you have a lot on your plate, but I did want to ask for an addition to the statistics listed for pitchers in the Player Profile. Any chance we could see BB/9 and K/9 innings listed for pitchers?
  13. No Kanji allowed; Without which the beauty is lost; click here for more
  14. I really hope your kidding about your comment about "Who is this Weeks guy" Take a look at my signature one more time. Or this picture: http://webpages.charter.net/jlhcth/graphics/BFNet/RickieWeeksGroup640.JPG
  15. Just caught the last four innings of the game. Nice to see this team win the type of game they've been prone to losing in the past. And who is this Weeks guy? He seems pretty good.
  16. I think you are thinking of the Kicking Zendajs'... Great to see another Weeks in the organization.
  17. I'd like to see threads in forums that are like "expert round-tables" where only maybe 5-10 people that have "credentials" can discuss a certain topic without other posters. In example, the 5-10 best minor league thinkers on the board have discussions among themselves about certain draft picks. I think that's a good idea, so I'll second that. There are definately times when I want to hear what the staff has to say without a WHOA SOLVDD moment interjected. Another feature I'd like to see is the ability to hide or ignore threads. That way if I don't wanna see the 19th "Jenkins sucks" or "Yost needs to be fired" threads, I have the ability to hide them.
  18. Michael has made the best point of all. Even if Braun is left off the next power 50 entirely, Toby will put him were he belongs if he knows he's misplaced him. His opinion's of Braun are just as valid as the opinions of others here. Let's throw a fit two months from know if he's still not where everyone thinks he is... and let's also be sure to apologize to Toby is he turns out to be right. Oh, and where would Maybin be in the power 50? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  19. At the bottom right there is a RATE THIS THREAD option. EDIT: It's right below the ADD REPLY button on the bottom right of the screen.
  20. One thing you can try to do is paste or create the table/text into Notepad first. I do this because so long as you use a monospace font (Lucida Console is the default), your text will appear exactly as it will on the board using the CODE tags. Second, as ja noted, make sure you replace any TABS with an appropriate number of spaces. Also, you may want to put your table/text one line below the CODE tag. I have found sometimes if your post starts: Blah... the first row may not be aligned with all subsequent rows. I think you are better off formatting your post like this: [code] Blah... Finally, be sure to use the Preview checkbox to preview your posts before they actually get posted. Even after going thru all these steps, you may find you need to tweak things before you click POST.
  21. Wonder if this is related to the problems of the last few weeks or just a new one.
  22. Anyway, we all kind of figured Braun would sign quickly, but it's good to hear nonetheless, no matter what you think about the guy. As a "Maybin" guy, I thought I should clarify my position a bit. I like Braun. If Maybin went 4th and Miwaukee landed Braun, you probably won't have heard a peep from me. I think he's got a good chance to be a good player someday. And because he's a college guy, he'll have a chance sooner than later. I like him even more after seeing him at 3B. After hearing some of the negative things said about him, I'm very pleased to see he should be able to stick at third and not move to the OF. Not only does Milwaukee get a good player, but they did seem to fill a need. My only reason for being disapointed by the pick is my "thing" for Maybin. Anytime someone says "Junior Griffey", fairly or unfairly, I see a high average, high OBP, high SLG guy with the potential to be REALLY special. Of course he's just as likely to peak a AAA... I guess that's a long way of saying that while I like Braun and am happy he's in the organization, I just like Maybin a bit more. Any chance Maybin goes to college and Milwaukee picks him in three years? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  23. The picture has to be on the internet to be posted on BF.net. Once on the internet, use the IMAGE to place the picture within the post. You simply click the IMAGE button and paste the address of the image into the form and click OK. For example: www.brewerfan.net/images/...ar-top.jpg http://www.brewerfan.net/images/titlebar-top.jpg
  24. This team only has four hits today... they aren't anti-clutch, they just aren't very good very often on offense.
