  1. "The Milwaukee #Brewers were one of the teams who were pursuing Starlin Castro before he agreed to 2-year, $12 million deal with #Nats, but he badly wanted to play for manager Davey Martinez and the Nats."
  2. If the Brewers signed this loser I would walk away from my fandom in a heartbeat. He’s not even a good player anyways, you can find plenty of replacement level middle infielders who don’t beat their wives or girlfriends.
  3. At some point the Badgers HAVE to win a game away from the Kohl Center. Right? Tough environment today, but Tennessee has a pretty thin roster right now.
  4. Porzingis burying back to back threes from Madison just to twist the knife in. Shots not falling at all aside from Giannis and Korver, Middleton and Lopez especially.
  5. Thanks for the update, David!
  6. I love this move, reasonable deal and I'm pretty high on Avisail as a potential 30 HR guy hitting at Miller for half the season.
  7. Awesome! I love it! I agree that getting a player that produces to the equivalent of Moustakas (as has been pointed out above) at a fraction of the cost is a brilliant move. In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death, taxes, and Brewers fans rooting for underpaid players to help out the owners’ profitability.
  8. They are literally trying to sell off parts of their core to save money. This would make very little sense. Maybe they are waiting to announce it until they’ve shed some payroll via trade?
  9. Gotta feel for Pirates fans. Bob Nutting is one of the worst owners in pro sports.
  10. Glad the Brewers didn't bank on filling a roster spot with a Rule 5 pick in a year we're trying to compete.
  11. Tom thinks every player is out of the Brewers price range.
  12. Same here, especially if the juiced ball disappears again.
  13. 1 year/$9 mil with up to $1 mil in performance bonuses apparently
  14. Didi to the Phils
  15. About time for Marvin Miller as well. Long overdue
  16. I presume you mean Urias? Actually, his account was hacked by clancy. This is a pretty good post
  17. It's a baseball team, not a charity. The Brewers winning a championship isn't going to result in world peace and the end of disease and poverty. Look at the history of the franchise when it comes to spending big money on player contracts and temper expectations accordingly. Ok? I'm not asking for Mark Attanasio to solve poverty ([removed- no politics/socioeconomic commentary!]). I'm just not going to bend over and accept claims from any billionaire hedge fund owner in pro sports about being too strapped for cash to spend money on players.
  18. I think a lot of us are just skeptical that the poor little Brewers sob story and their frugal operations over the years are also an easy way to keep making more and more money while saying "aw shucks, we sure tried".
  19. Sure, but the same could be said for everyone who immediately piles on with the "...it's only December 4th, you need to relax!" anytime someone expresses concern about slashing payroll.
  20. Wondering the same thing. I'm not currently in "the sky is falling" mode or anything, but I'd be lying if I said there wasn't concern in the back of my mind that this franchise (with its history of futility and slashing payroll) was going to slash payroll and say "we tried". To question someone's fandom because they want the billionaire owner to spend, and keep telling them their opinion isn't a good look seems a bit over the top.
  21. The NBA is as exciting as it’s been in years, certainly more entertaining than the NFL. Why bother posting in here if you don’t follow it? Just craving attention or what?
  22. Brewers competing for the surplus value/fat pockets title. What baseball is all about!
  23. The Rays just DFA'd a guy by the name of Jesús Aguilar
