Pitchers have been doctoring baseballs as long as there have been pitchers - it isn’t a new or modern day thing. Regarding putting some rules in for the shift, I don’t find placing some rules on it as the game evolves being that big of a deal. If putting a rule in place so an infielder isn’t playing at the depth of a rover in slow-pitch softball - that is fine by me. To me, that rule would be similar to formation/shift rules in football. I think putting a limit on pickoff attempts is by far the dumbest proposal.

There is no way that a game that will end up being a quad 1 win for the Badgers - PSU is 42 in NET, 34 Kenpom and 45 in T-rank even after the loss yesterday - would have dropped them 4+ seed lines and out of the tourney.

Just wave your pom poms and convince yourself that the front office and ownership can do no wrong or you are not a real fan according to a few. Nobody ever says you can’t question the front office or the moves that are made and in every single transaction thread there are supporters and detractors.

Fixed. I disagree that Brady is playing at a different level this year. I know passer rating isn’t everything but Brady is playing slightly over his career norms this year (102.2 vs 97.3) whereas Rodgers is significantly above his career norm (121.5 vs 103.9). Rodgers is #1 in both passer rating and QBR and Brady is #9 in both as well. The gap between Rodgers and #2 on the year (Deshaun Watson) in passer rating is almost as big as the gap between Watson and Brady.

Yeah, this is bad, but really just puts us back to where we were before last week. But the chances he's the ONLY person who has it... This has the ability to just be a huge gut punch. I was thinking this shouldn’t be a big deal as there is the wait period before a new player can join the team but I see they changed that rule in mid-December for a player who has already been in the NFL COVID protocol/testing. From what I read they are still required to pass a rapid test and since Veldheer obviously signed recently, hopefully it was that test that came up positive and would limit the likelihood of other players testing positive.

I suppose if toughest is defined by playing almost all 6-10 to 8-8 teams. They lost 2/3 of their big non divisional games (Bills/Dolphins). I can’t say splitting with the Seahawks is overly impressive. One could argue they were never embarrassed, but at the same time they never really dominated despite playing a lot of below average teams. As I mentioned in another post, most teams play a few tough games, a few cupcakes, and then a bunch of middle of the road teams. That is not unique to the Rams. Also, Tampa Bay isn't a big non divisional game? I gave you what the actual numbers were on their strength of schedule both overall and relative to their peers. If the math doesn't convince you that you were mistaken to say that the Rams must have played one of the weakest schedules in the NFL then nothing I say will convince you otherwise. I think the Rams schedule is quite interesting and I’m sort of in the middle between the two of you. I don’t think their schedule was trash as TPlush but I feel their high SoS numbers are misleading too. They played a total of 4 teams with winning records (just as the Packers did with their middle of the road SoS) for 5 games (Buf, TB, Mia, Sea x2) in the regular season. The main thing that I found to bump their SoS up was the lack of a lot of really crappy teams and playing a bunch of mediocre to average teams (in the 6-10 to 8-8 range that TPlush mentioned). They played two teams with 5 or less wins (and lost to one of them) in the Jets and Eagles. Honestly, their schedule reminded me of how the Badgers would build a strong schedule in BB where they played a few elite teams and tried to reduce the really crappy teams in OOC (by playing lots of teams in the middle - teams they shouldn’t have much trouble beating but are still competitive). Side note: I don’t really like the Strength of Victory stat unless I’m misunderstanding it (which is entirely possible). Anything that can potentially reward you for losing to a really crappy team like the Jets should receive extra scrutiny in my opinion.

I think your point is valid and it could be true that this guy could make it just fine as our daily first basemen, but it is still ridiculous to have it floating around out there that the NL "might" have a DH and that teams aren't able to plan accordingly for it. You might be much more willing to take on Nunez and a guy like Vogelbach if you know that you can slide one or both to a DH spot if they crash and burn playing defense. Couldn’t that possibly play into the Brewers to get him a little cheaper? Figure more NL teams aren’t as interested without knowing there will be a DH and it suppresses his market a bit?

If this is how this game is going to be called, it will be a long day.

Not playing then often is an understatement. We’ve played them 5 times on the road since our last win in ‘74 going 0-4-1 with two losses by 3 points each. I 100% agree that it’s not a good match up for us... so watch us have one of our best games of the year.

Well, as it turned out, I guess you should have gone with Gibson and Swift in your backfield, with Dionte Johnson at WR and Godwin or Moore in the flex. Shows what I know LOL. Conner has been a huge disappointment lately, spinning his tires in good matchups. Davis has been a disappointment lately too in what should be a RB1 role. I think moving forward I'd ride Swift. The Lions seem committed to him now as their feature back. I woulda started Conner no matter what based on his match up, so even if I played Johnson instead of Chark and Swift instead of Davis, I still would have lost. I picked up Brees to spot start for Mahomes on his bye and got like 9 points... pretty much killed my week.

I believe it changed with the last round of contracts that it is no longer CBS coverage with an AFC visitor and FOX with NFC.
