I’d want an overpay if I’m sending that much major league talent back. One more piece and a lottery or two.

Hunter Renfroe to Angels for 3 pitchers

“Not about payroll” “dealing from a position of strength” huh? You just traded your best bat last year for peanuts. It was 100% about payroll you lying dufus -
Too Early 2023 Ideas (or beyond)

And to get out from that arb raise, frees up some $ to pursue a different bat or swing some trades. -
But not because he was coveted for the POBO job. GM sure, he just got promoted to POBO in a year in which the team underperformed and failed miserably at the trade deadline. I don’t see how he comes so highly regarded. All comes down to Mark in the end, needs to spend
-
It’s to lessen his role so that the POBO role with the Mets is an advancement and he cannot be denied. He gone.
-
Industry execs know the value of these guys, clear reason why Stearns has been coveted and no whisper of anything regarding Arnold.
-
Guessing wrong. Unquestioned step down in every way.

One of the least enjoyable winning seasons I can ever remember of any professional sports team I’ve followed. Team isn’t particularly likable and wouldn’t mind seeing them blow it up a bit. Til next year.
-
D. I would assign an F if not for the unknown of the prospects. Stearns worst season to date.
-
I’m ready to see this roster burnt down to scraps. Trade any and everyone and build the farm.
-
This has been a below average baseball team for half the season now. Blow up the bullpen and half the lineup.
-
Good to see the bats wake up tonight. Bullpen was dreadful. Suter should be DFA’d.
-
For me it’s a D. No major league bats added, 1 hitter with an OPS of .800 or higher, shook up the locker room and replaced their all time greatest relief pitcher with a bunch of guys over 30 and paid a hefty prospect price.
-
“We were in the red” “we stretched the budget to sign Cutch” not sure of your motive here.
-
It’s a massively underwhelming trade deadline and quite frustrating. I never ever wanna hear Mark cry poor again.

Kris Bryant didn’t bring back nearly that much as a rental last year. He fetched the Cubs a top 10 prospect and a top 20 from a very average Giants system. Couldn’t imagine Bell would bring back more than a top 10(8-10) and a lotto. Gonna throw out a guess of Freddy Zamora and Castaneda.

All of those players are under control for next year as well. That peak Turang slash line you posted would set him among the top SS in baseball. Brewers will need cheap options with arb raises and extensions.

2022 MLB Draft Pick Discussion, Rounds 1-10
titletownking replied to Eye Black's topic in MLB Draft & International Signings
Even that doesn’t compare. This is $1.2 mil over and significantly more than the 1st pick. Makes sense tho, they obviously considered him a bit of a risky sign to take him in the second so that if he didn’t sign it wouldn’t hurt the rest of the draft as compared to the 1st round. -

He later corrected this as well to 2.05 million so 650K underslot. -
This umpire is terrible. One of the most inconsistent zones I’ve ever seen.
-
Chi Chi and his dozen ERA can hit the road after today. Nothing he can bring to this team.
-
All the throwing errors. It’s nauseating.

Easy for a part timer to say. Like the old man who works a couple hours a week saying he loves to work!
