  1. COREY PATTERSON UPDATE!!! batting .204 with a OBP under .250 Please keep hitting him 1st, dusty! He's a perfect leadoff man.
  2. I think it's safe to say that come a few weeks there will be one too many Gabe's on the roseter and gross is the one that has to go.
  3. great game for him. I always wish we kept him. hope everything turns our for him. What's the most amazing part of his night? Doug was 2-2 with an RBI tonight. in 2004 with the brewers he was 1 for 64 with 0 RBI and a .016 batting average.
  4. I am against booing in general at Miller Park. But I'll be at the game on Thursday and If coco comes in, I'm booing him. Give me a break. If you sign a contract over 40 million dollars over 4 years and you switch from your current team over a matter of a few million dollars? You should be booed.
  5. Your posts are so refreshing. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. The camera cues have been horrible so far.
  7. I'm loving it. The second highest payrolled team in baseball. They added 43.5 million in payroll this year, more than the entire payroll of the Marlin's and Rays. This is great.
  8. They banned it in the minors.. no way they would ban in in MLB.
  9. We have a winner in the Lux air home run inning!
  10. This new aggressiveness of the Brewers make the games so much more exciting! Hats off to Yost so far. it's working great.
  11. Never a good thing when the Brewer's have more errors than hits.
  12. A great example is the work of Jim Pabpski calling of the Juan Nieves' no hitter in 1987. The entire game he makes no mention of the no hitter. Calls the game like it's just another game. And when Yount makes the leaping catch for the final out, he goes nuts. Thought it was great the way he purpopsly never even mentioned the fact that he's one out away from a no hitter.
  13. Also, Fielder has now gone three innings in today's game without a homerun.
  14. I'm in the same boat in Seattle. but I quickly found out you can listen to the game for free today on http://www.wiba.com/pages/streamnew.html it is supposed to be blacked out. someone must of forgot to switch it over in Madison.
  15. heads up to all the displaced fans without MLB.TV or extra innings. 1310WIBA in madison is streaming the game live over their site right now!! http://www.wiba.com/pages/streamnew.html
  16. Kids today don't know how good they have it with Miller Park. Anyone remember the 1994 opening day against the Athletics? I was 14 years old. We got snow the night before and for the game it was 15° with the wind chill. I was sitting high in the upperdeck where it felt like -15°. I had to go into the bathroom and wrap toilet paper around my feet a few times because they were so cold.
  17. I know this is nitpicking but am I the only one who can't stand when they do the close-up-of-the-ball-being-pitched-to-a-Brewer-who-hits-a-home run angle? Know what I'm talking about? They started doing three or so years ago. At first I thought it was kinda interesting but they do it at least three or so times a game now and it's really annoying. I'd much rather see another replay of the ball movement or the kind of swing that connected on the homerun. How would you like to be the camera man who on every pitch of the game has to zoom up on the ball like that?
  18. For stat geaks our there, there was a great book that came out a year or so ago called Baseball Between the Numbers; written by baseball Prospectus. In the book they pretty much conclude that in '05, Patterson had the overall worst offensive season in the modern era of baseball. In 451 AB, he had 34 BB with an amazing .254 OBP!! That same year, Brian Giles had 119 BB in 545 AB. In his carrer, Corey Patterson has 153 BB in 3108 AB. The idea of a player with a lifetime .297 OBP batting lead off is as silly as a bowlyer trying to roll 300 with a square shaped bowling ball.
  19. Has Dusty Baker completely lost his mind? Why on earth would you bat a guy like Corey Patterson, a guy who really should not have even made the roster, in the lead off spot? Patterson has a lifetime .297 OBP. Good grief, the number 8 batter, Paul Bako, the catcher, has a higher lifetime OBP than him. Sure the guy has some speed but batting him leadoff?? It's good to know the Reds will not be close to becoming contenders this year with Baker at the helm. EDIT: Removed excessive puntuation from subject line - BtA
  20. Matt Wise didn't get to a great start either.
  21. come on, relax everyone. we are 2-0.
  22. I just cringe to think that two years before Suppan, we had Victor Santos on our team. God bless you Jeff Suppan.
