I get your point and honestly it makes tons of sense for the NFL to adopt something similar. For myself though, I just don't mind the "extra second" on delay of game calls. Both teams benefit from the extra beat before a flag is thrown and I don't feel like the game suffers for it. Maybe I could be convinced to see it the other way, maybe I'm just conditioned to not care so much because of its commonality.
It would be very Rodgers of him to demand that the trade not be officially announced until just before the draft so that there's no external pressure from fans/media about him reporting to the off-season workouts, etc. that begin for the Jets on April 18.
Change this to anyone with a Wisconsin home zip code and you're right. I don't believe someone in California can watch Brewers baseball on the Bally's app.
This wave of young players coming up reminds me of the Fielder, Weeks, Hardy, Hart, Braun days. Maybe not quite the power of those guys but those were exciting times. I'm more than on board for that feeling again.
Turang and Varland, so cool for those guys. For whatever reason Varland's reaction hit me even harder than Turang's. All the stuff a Rule 5 guy must have on his shoulders, not quite good enough to be protected by his original team (even knowing it's a team with deep talent), picked up by another team that feels he's worth a look then the pressure to go out and prove it in what has to feel like an all or nothing chance at his dreams and then getting that confirmation that, yeah, you belong here. You made it. What a feeling it must be.
Two pages in and nobody has posted the scheduled days the Brewers are on.
So let's apply some logic.
Skip paying Apple to watch the lone May game against Kansas City. You're likely not missing much.
The 3 games you get in June might be easier to justify spending $6 on for one month. Or don't.
I also reject the propagation of "the old people" that don't understand how streaming services and the internet works. Then they're less likely to miss being able to watch one Brewers game on that one night that week. They'll just move on and watch Wheel of Fortune or Ghost Hunters instead.
I suppose that even though the viewership number is lower in some larger markets it doesn't mean that they make less money in ad revenue. They could conceivably still be able to charge more for their version of the Cenex commercials that they pump out ad nauseum during Brewers broadcasts just because of the market size and comparable ad prices in that area. Pure speculation.
