  1. It's really good. That the source material is a video game doesn't really mean much, the producers of the show are taking the outline and major plot points from the game and filling in story and character development around that. If you were playing the game the scenes that take 3 to 5 minutes of show screen time, like entering the university and walking through the abandoned corridors and rooms, in the game there would be search quests, problem solving, more enemy encounters, finding equipment upgrades and stuff like that that could take 20 minutes to an hour to explore. While I'm familiar with the story the game told I can't be sure the show will adhere to everything in the game or if they might choose to do some things differently. So the suspense is there even though I have a good idea what is coming.
  2. Or is what I typed above what this means, the $3.5B is the valuation of the entire franchise? I guess that would make more sense, My eyes were skipping right over the part where it said "valuation". I got there, just took some time lol
  3. From what I recall, Lasry & Edens had equal shares. Impressive that the Bucks sold for $550 milion in 2014 and now a (presumably) less than 50% share fetches $3.5 billion. I'm really wondering how accurate that price is since the Suns recently had a change in ownership and that franchise was valued at around $4B. I'm guessing there will be an adjustment to numbers, it wouldn't surprise me if the entire Bucks franchise was valued at $3.5B bringing Haslam's share price much lower. It's hard to reasonably say that the Bucks are worth north of $7B total.
  4. Sounds like he'll play Friday.
  5. I am about as pro-player as it gets and I have no problem with how things played out during the arby process. Burnes is an adult, they could have come to a compromise and met in the middle before making it this far, he chose not to (along with the team of course). Too many people are accusing the Brewers of quibbling over "just $750k" well Burnes did the same.
  6. I like the move. Low risk for a guy that's produced. I don't mark him down too much for slumping after being traded from a contender to a league worst Nationals team at the deadline. Be nice if he boosted his OBP, don't know his spray chart maybe they see some potential with changes in the shift. Injury insurance too if someone goes down early.
  7. I'm 3 episodes in, breaking there to watch the Bucks. I just laughed out loud at the last line of that episode. What a crazy show, not at all what I expected. You seriously can't prepare for the actual show you're getting from what the guy is explaining about what happened to him in the first episode. If anyone is curious there's only 6 episodes, the first 5 are between 30 to 40 minutes and the last one is around an hour so you can get through it quickly.
  8. I'm not as confident for this one that they'll bring it back. I hope they do. MLB Network, in my observation anyway which I guess doesn't mean much, doesn't seem to have the same pull as the NFL Network does. I could see YouTube TV just letting it go and not trying real hard to get an agreement. Maybe they'll look at the number of subscriber cancellations to see if there's a noticeable bump. I guess that would be an incentive to folks out there that are thinking of dropping YouTube TV to give it a go, maybe that will help bring it back.
  9. I'm higher risk. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer early 2021. She's doing great now, they found it probably as early as they possibly could have. But in the early going after her diagnosis they ran a bunch of additional tests on her and they found that she had a CHEK2 gene mutation that made her more at risk for cancer. She went from only having to have a couple lymph nodes removed to the doctor recommending a full double mastectomy. It was a big bummer for her but it's a no brainer to eliminate as much risk of a relapse as possible. CHEK2 is hereditary so the doctor also told her to have all her siblings and her kids (me and my brother) to get tested to see if we had the mutation as well. We both do and I'm pretty sure at least 2 of her sibs did as well. In men with CHEK2 the cancer risk is higher for the prostate and colon. I also had 6 polyps removed which was a bit more than normal and the nurse told me that will bump me up from getting a colonoscopy every 10 years to every 5 instead, or at least unless the next test shows fewer polyps I guess. EDIT: Well a couple hours later I got a call from the doctor's office with results of my colonoscopy. They said all of the polyps were benign and I won't have to have another for 10 years. So there ya go. Still feel like I'm probably better off going the old fashioned route but who knows what advancements may happen in the next decade.
  10. Anecdotally I feel like it's par for the course. I don't have a problem with his draft picks, there are some solid guys there. Also, 1st round picks don't all have to be 1st ballot hall of fame players or be dubbed busts. People bag on Savage but he's an average (sure even below avg) starting player. That's not the worst thing ever. Could he be replaced? Of course but you want your 1st rounders to at least be starters and he's doing that. Again, that position is upgradable I'm not denying that, he's just not a Pro Bowl guy. Whatever. He's not Josh Jackson bad or he wouldn't still be here.
  11. Kinda got to think Crowder himself must prefer to go to the Bucks as well. Not sure how much say he actually has in the matter but I feel like it's pretty much a done deal unless something dumb happens, which of course is more than possible.
  12. Sounds awful. My stomach discomfort lasted around 5 hours, I slept through some of it and watched some TV to try to distract myself the rest of the time. Didn't eat anything else of substance the rest of the night. I think I had a granola bar around midnight. I definitely would have struggled if I had to work while feeling like that but I'm working from home so... I probably could get away with a slacker day on the clock. Fortunately it didn't come to that. Long story alert: don't waste time reading if you don't want to. You mentioning your boss telling you to go home brought back a memory of an instance where the exact opposite happened for me. I worked for a fast food chain in my late high school years. One summer weekend I had gone with some friends to Noah's Ark. I had forgotten to bring sunblock and for whatever reason I didn't buy any or borrow any, hard to recall if anyone else even had some. Suffice to say, by the end of the day I had a pretty nasty sunburn. Man I was dumb, I could feel my skin was hot as the day was winding down but it's never as bad in the moment as it's going to be as more time passes. My shoulders and upper arms ended up covered in blisters. Not good times. Next day I was supposed to work, called them up and begged to have the day off because I was feeling terrible. The assistant manager answered, he was a guy I didn't have much of a rapport with, I was pretty well liked by management otherwise, especially the manager but this assistant manager was newer and for whatever reason he didn't know me well enough or didn't care or maybe he was even jealous that the manager liked me, I don't know, but he decided to be a big tool and express doubt that I was telling the truth or felt like I was exaggerating just to get out of work without finding a replacement. To be fair a lot of high school kids are super flaky with jobs like this and as I said he didn't know me real well. So he tells me if I don't come in I'd be fired. Or at least he implied it convincingly enough for me to believe him so I sucked it up and reported for my shift, half believing that when he saw me he'd realize I wasn't trying to pull a fast one and send me home. Nope, everyone but him, he was one of those guys that would never admit when they're wrong. I was red like a lobster. Everybody could see it. People were asking me why I was there and I was like, dude told me I better show up or else. The guy didn't make a lot of eye contact with me and I worked for most of my scheduled shift, 5 or 6 hours. Oh, I worked in the back with the grills and fryers and there was no air conditioning so it was like 100 degrees back there (yay 80s!). It really sucked. After the lunch rush the guy comes up to me and says, take out all the garbage and then I guess you can go home. I thought, "Geez Louise, thanks for being such a swell guy." Anybody could have taken the garbage out and it would have taken 15 minutes but I could barely raise my arms above my head and I'm supposed to throw all the bags of garbage into the trash compactor behind the restaurant which was above shoulder level. It took me about a half hour so I think I got to go home a whole 30 minutes before my shift ended anyway. So kind and thoughtful. He didn't stick around too long, I wasn't sorry to see him go.
  13. Colonoscopy. The procedure itself was fine. The prep, as those that go through it know, is the worst part. Anyway, having turned 50 a few months ago, I had my first one yesterday. I was craving real food, wasn't exactly hungry, just the fact that I could not eat made the desire to eat stronger. Fully aware I would probably regret it after the fact (spoiler alert: I did), I planned on going to a local diner immediately after being released from the procedure. So I had breakfast in the afternoon, scrambled eggs, hash browns (with a copious amount of ketchup), toast and a Belgian waffle. Carb city. It was delicious. Very satisfying after around 36 hours of no solid food. I want to think the indigestion and stomach discomfort several hours later was worth it. It both was and wasn't. I probably won't do the same thing next time but I'll want to. LOL
  14. Now that you've seen Knives Out you can watch the next one, "Glass Onion". I should take my own advice, I've been meaning to watch it for weeks now lol.
  15. I'm sitting in a place where I don't expect to be put in a position to root like hell for or against Trevor Bauer. I think the rest of MLB is sitting in that place too.
  16. I think mentioning Ellie in the second game is already a spoiler for those that don't know anything from the game at all. There is always the chance that due to the second game angering so many fans they could go a completely different direction and thus remove some plot armor but... As far as the first two episodes go it's been really good. The first 30ish minutes of episode 1 were pretty much iconic when it comes to the harrowing experience of Joel, his daughter Sarah and Joel's brother Tommy just like how the game began the story and it was really beautifully done. The casting of Pedro Pascal as Joel is a home run, I don't think I could have pictured a more perfect match for that character. Going forward I don't know that I'd expect to see things go shot for shot the way the game did but more that they'll hit major plot points and game events and fill in the rest of the show with realistic storyline while fleshing out some of the peripheral things that didn't get as much time in the game. There's kind of a lot of repetitive things that happen during game play that they won't need to keep hitting on for television so that will allow for more character and world building, What I've enjoyed are each of the first two episode's opening scenes where they've looked back at the world before things went bad (or just as things are starting to go bad in episode 2) that weren't in the game at all. This show is doing everything right so far between blending game cannon and supplementing other things to enrich the world. Pretty exciting stuff so far.
  17. I hate how this team is positioned at QB. They were cornered into keeping Love off the field down the stretch last season and now they've got a hard decision if the franchise yo-yo comes back. You look around the league at back-up QBs drafted in later rounds having success replacing injured starters, some as rookies, some as the literal last pick in the draft, and it's really going to suck if they deal away Love and watch him have success somewhere else. I think it's an extreme long shot but I want them to ditch Rodgers and go with Love next season. Let's find out what they have before it's too late. It might already be too late.
  18. That's right, LaFleur, keep the lightning rod around and maybe most people will keep the criticism off yourself. This guy's no dummy.
  19. I frequently get offers to accept a later delivery, sometimes like 4-5 days, and they award digital rewards dollars as a credit that you can use towards Amazon's digital content. If you stack up enough of these digital rewards dollars you can use them to rent or buy movies on Prime Video at a discount or even for free if you have enough to cover the purchase price. Not a bad trade off if you don't actually need the 2 day shipping. If you don't want movies you can opt for Kindle eBooks, Amazon Appstore apps or Amazon Music downloads. One thing, they make it almost impossible to find your balance of accrued rewards. Below is a link that you can view your balance and see when rewards dollars will expire. https://www.amazon.com/norushcredits?ref_=ya_d_l_payment_methods_norushcredit
  20. Neither. No sense reacting to one stupid decision by making an even worse stupid decision.
  21. OT: I honestly don't understand how Wes Edens is cool with Rodgers dating his daughter. Rodgers had been on a dating merry go round and not you have to watch him "date" your much younger daughter? I get she's an adult so Wes probably doesn't have much sway but I'd expect Rodgers' ownership stake to be bought out the second their breakup happens. Meanwhile, Brett Rodgers has shown up. Good. This team doesn't deserve the playoffs to take everyone off the hook. From top to bottom.
  22. It's not like the defense was going to stop anyone there. Need the offense to enhance some competence for once.
