  1. Or maybe, because we’re all Packers fans here, our dog “old yeller” would be the Packers, not the Eagles. Just a thought.
  2. I would agree with this assessment—execution separates these teams more than anything, and I kind of would expect that if the team is the youngest in the league, which we are. But at some point, that can’t always be the excuse. Either the team has to grow up right now, or we have to add more veteran talent somehow. After next year, we have to start making money decisions on guys like Clark, Gary, and/or Jaire, and the window will start to close. If the time isn’t now, it’s imminent, so I get the frustration. I just think we’re really close. Agonizingly close.
  3. Probably, since they’re both line calls. It’s really ticky-tack.
  4. Weird officiating. Wicks looked like he backed up before the snap on that 3rd and one, too, and still got called. Not sure what’s going on.
  5. Eh, I disagree. Execution is the difference in this one. I don’t think the talent gap is huge. Jefferson is an all-world talent, and Love has made a couple weird decisions, and suffered a couple brutal drops. Then Jacobs fumble to start, and I see a lot of unforced errors. Like on that FG attempt, I guess…
  6. NFL coaches can’t manage the clock, like, at all. I’d love to see if playcalling coaches are worse at this than non-play calling ones.
  7. Should have thrown to Kraft on third down, and Reed needs to make a catch on 4th. Not great.
  8. That sequence was not exactly Hafley’s best work. Stop blitzing, Darnold is lights out against the blitz.
  9. If true, that’s bad news for all involved. Harder for the Packers to deal him, harder for him to convince a future team to give him a big money contract—this is why I’d be surprised if this was true. If he doesn’t want to play now, for this team, on a defense that is better than any we’ve had in over a decade, what would that say about JA? LaFleur has been covering for him, saying his speed numbers and practice film aren’t up to snuff yet, etc. Not sure they’d be doing that if they had cleared him. But the famously conservative training staff not advising an IR trip for a guy who has now missed five weeks for a mild knee injury demands some kind of explanation. There is more to this story.
  10. A coward dies a thousand times before his death, but the valiant taste of death but once. The Packers should play their stars on Sunday, compete to win, and beat the stupid Vikings. Win that game, and the young guys won’t just think they can beat anybody, they’ll know they can—anywhere, anytime. They’ll be going into January playing their best ball, and nobody in the NFC field will want to draw them. I don’t just want a win for seeding, and not even just for pride. I want it for psychological dominance. I want this team to be a screaming-hot, 13-win wild card ballistic missile on a mission.
  11. Nice bonus, since we’ll be drafting at the end of every round.
  12. Go hard next week. The only thing left to prove is they can get a win over one of the elite. For a young team, there’s likely to be a gulf between what you think you can do and what you know you can do. Get a win in Minnesota and you close that gulf—the sky would be the limit.
  13. This result should pad the old Pythagorean record a smidge. So we got that going for us.
  14. I would’ve felt better about pulling him earlier, too, but I kinda like that they kept him out there to work on the deep ball a little. A few guys were getting dinged up, though, so it was a slight concern.
  15. And no MVS, who has been a solid contributor of late, as well. If Alexander plays, I wouldn’t ask him to do much. Get some time at game speed, but once we’re comfortably up, he should be one of the first starters to sub out. EDIT: nvm, just saw Alexander was ruled out.
  16. Yeah, the line being 14.5 pretty much says it all. Barring injury catastrophe, this should be no worse than a workmanlike two-score game most of the evening. If Love and Jacobs are still playing meaningful snaps in the 4th, that’s a bit of a concern. The Packers are hitting their stride, and this Saints team should be no hurdle.
  17. The Jets and Bears are like two sad, shriveled peas in a dysfunctional pod. Yikes.
  18. If he’s ring chasing, and takes a lesser deal, you gotta think Kansas City puts on the green eyeshades and tries to figure out the numbers. Who else is that close and could use him? Not Detroit, they’re pretty much set at pass catcher. The 49ers seem like they’re always in on everybody, but they have to make a decision on Purdy soon and their roster is getting expensive already. Maybe Philly? Don’t know their cap situation, but could be a dynamite pairing with Brown. I don’t want to see the Packers play him, so I’m hoping he goes AFC. Maybe he likes the Chargers chances, or Miami, or something. He’d be a great addition for Buffalo, how much scarier could that offense get?
  19. Shhhhhh, the only thing that could make the Lions discourse more insufferable is a deluge of “the Lions are in trouble/nO oNe bElIevEs iN uS” takes. But in all seriousness, I agree. Philly should be no worse than a coin flip against Detroit even in Ford field right now, and I’m not sure I’d pick the Lions with all these injuries against any team likely to be a top-6 seed in the NFC. They’re really hurting.
  20. Ten wins with three to go. Can’t argue with that under any circumstances. Stay healthy, and let’s see what happens.
  21. Pass rush showed up today, and not having to blitz. That’s the best outcome of the night by far.
  22. Great touchdown. Now we can exhale.
  23. You might be right. I have no rewind ability, so I had only a couple looks at it.
  24. Good grief, now finish them!
  25. Haha…flipping Seattle, man
