    Its ok to hope for the best, but I think we all better expect the worst. My money is on Sheets not pitching for the Brewers anytime before next July or so. riiiight, because we are all doctors all of a sudden now.

    I think my most hated Cub has to be Neifi Perez. I can't put my finger on it, but I hate him. God would it be hard to cheer for this team even if I was in Chicago with the likes of Neifi, Jose Macias, Mr. Underachiever Corey Patterson, aweful bullpen, Todd Hollandsworth. Yuck.

    Buy that man a Krispy Kreme! You know it's entirely feasible that Helms packed on the pounds by other means - maybe his cake roll of choice is the twinkie. He looks like more of a twinkie or Hostess Cupcake guy to me. In any event, he's arguably our hottest hitter.

    Any ideas on how to blackmail Brainard, Billy and Darron? Maybe a rumor about Brainard dating his 16 year old daughter's friend? Schroeder evading taxes? Sutton frequenting prostitutes and then biting them? I can't help but be frustrated when I don't have a radio around and I have to listen to this crap. It's unbearable at times and reflects poorly on the team in general.

    Can we please, please do something to stop Brainerd from interviewing random fans? Oh my God in Heaven. Someone put both this pompous fan and Brainard out of their misery. Giving him a microphone?????? This is the most unprofessional broadcast I've ever heard. Watching Brainard is like watching the sun, Goodfeet commercials, or old reruns of Saved By the Bell: You don't wanna do it, but yet you feel compelled. You can't put your finger on it. But in all seriousness, Brainard (and I don't care if I spelled it right) is an embarassment to FSN, the City of Milwaukee, and the Brewers. I hope he slips on a wet ramp.

    Does anyone else slightly worry about Mark A's knowledge of baseball and his desire to keep together a winning team? I really don't mean to sound negative but he is sounding more and more like his true motives may be putting people in the seats, even if that's without assembling a great team. It just seems like he doesn't really fit into the midwestern mentality, but obviously he has plenty of time to adapt. But as long as he lets melvin do his thing, i'm not too worried.

    Well, he could close. Be a dominating closer, but as a starter... I dunno if that's gonna happen. Kinda starting to make me think the Braves were sure he was going to be a reliever and not a starter and figured he was expendable.

    riebes you from grafton by any chance? i played baseball with a riebe was was 24 i think.... Certainly am. Gotta love good old Grafton. Where did you play at? Actually I think i was 34 in high school and a few years in Land O Lakes ball, this handle is just one I've had for years that I use for everything. I'm not too creative

    That's good news. A couple years back I took a 80 or so Mph fastball off my wrist, didn't break it, but it hurt like a B----. I couldn't make a fist for 6 days. I don't even want to imagine what a 90Mph fastball feels like.

    anyone else getting slightly concerned that Weeks can't seem to get a hit? I'm waaaaaaaaaaay more concerned with the fact that he can't underhand toss a ball to a shortstop to turn a DP. He's made what, 3 or 4 errors this spring? That's unacceptable, especially for a second baseman. Maybe he has throwing issues a la chuck knoblauch. Who knows, maybe he gets moved to center field. I think this would greatly increase his value if he could make the transition. Of course this is PURE speculation and admittedly based on a very small sample size, but his defense is definitely shaky. On the other hand, his hitting will come. The guy has hit at every level so far, and has the quickest bat in the system. It's not like he's getting completely over-matched, just fooled on some off-speed pitches.

    Despite yet another slow start from Helms, he should be the backup third baseman, PERIOD. Cirillo is garbage and the only reason he's even here is that the Padres are paying him 7 Million to stay away. I just don't like the idea of all the nostalgia surrounding this guy, because what Cirillo did 6 years is irrelevant. If he makes the team as a super sub, then fine, but he should NOT be the backup 3rd baseman. That being said, I actually hope Helms stays sluggish in the spring so Branyan will indeed play 75 percent of the time. It's at least nice to see that he slimmed down and should have much better range this year, and I gotta think the bat's gonna bounce back as he gets settled in.
