I think it's clear that next year, we should just forfeit all our road games (except 1), really concentrate on going undefeated at home, and pray that we win our 1 road game. I think that's realistically the only way we are going to be over 500.

Key to the game: Derrick Turnbow was not allowed to step on a rubber.

Welcome to Closer 101, I'm your professor, Fransisco. Mr. Turnbow has been demoted to hall monitor. I will be saving all games from here on out.

    Slam. The. Proverbial. Door.
  5. Riebes24
That confirms it folks. Mike Rivera is our best player, and it's not even close.

I suppose it's about time I got in on the fun. Me too. Power in numbers.

We're back in the wild card baby! This season has done permanent damage to me.

Wow, we really should resign Bell. He's clutch.
  9. Riebes24
He's 1/3 with a BB and a run scored. Definitely hasn't sucked tonight. That's cool. Marmol still outhit him though.

wait for it...wait for it... Jenkins could have done that.

Did anyone just catch the Dave Nelson chat with Jenkins at first? No wonder he's been playing so much - he's been battling well! I love the little games that coaches play to try to get their hitters out of huge funks. If Nelson had any balls, he would just flat out say that his swing is garbage right now and he's losing bat speed every week.

OH. My. God. The sky is falling. Ned's been reading Brewerfan!

Mench scares me. He's Carlos Lee without the power - i.e., he swings at everything, never walks, looks dumb on bad pitches, and doesn't really hit the ball out of the ballpark consistently. Oh, that and he's not really a good OFer. At least he tries harder than Leehttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif I'm actually very depressed thinking about him in LF next year... The best part of the Lee trade for Texas is removing him from their 2007 OF.

Is it just me, or does Kevin Mench pretty much suck?
  15. Riebes24
This bullpen has found a new friend, and he happens to be a pretty darn good influence.

That, my friends, was the worst AB of the year.

The Pirates would probably trade Zach Duke for Clark in the offseason.
  19. Riebes24
    Turnbow is God.
  20. Riebes24
i'm gonna need to throw back a few more PBR's to get through this one...
  21. Riebes24
Anyone else for patting Davis on the back and yanking him now?
  22. Riebes24
    Much appreciated, thanks.

Does anyone know if the BF.net interview of Inman is still archived somewhere? That was good read and wouldn't mind checking it out again.

De la Rosa pitching a gem in KC (8/3) - well, was pitching a gem. Relieved in the 2nd with bases loaded: 1.1 Innings, 4 hits, 3 runs, 4 walks, 0 K's in something like 48 pitches.
  25. Riebes24
Schroeder: "I don't think Derrick has ever lost confidence." Well put Bill. I'm sure blowing like 21 saves in like 5 weeks doesn't effect your confidence at all. More bad luck than anything.
