  1. The series is why it's time to trade Hader for a bat. What good is a one inning closer if you can't score?? His value has diminished now that he is 1 inning only guy. He's great and somebody will pay a heavy price. Call the Yankees and ask about Luke Voigt to dh.
  2. It’s not 2005 anymore. Role players get 10+ million dollars a year in the major leagues now. That they’re going to be paying a former MVP and two former All Stars 52 million in 2022 isn’t really that big of a deal. When your roster payroll is 95 million it is.
  3. By the way Yelich has a full no trade clause so he isn't going anywhere even if the Brewers wanted him to be.
  4. I just can't see how. There is nothing coming up the pipeline that's going to do that. The only dream I can cling to is fixing Yelich to the point he's a shell of what he was. Yeah, I'm sure they can move a guy here or a guy there, but this offense badly needs something. And it's not just Yelich. It's JBJ. It's Cain. There's a lot of money in some not very great players. Brewers are scheduled to pay 52 million dollars to Yelich Cain and Bradley. If Garcia opts in it's almost 76 million. That is impossibly bad roster management.
  5. They scored 6 runs across four games. That has nothing to do with the manager, and is the main reason they lost. If anything Counsell got desperate and abandoned “pitching in defense” in Game 4 when he pinch hit Vogelbach for Peralta. The Brewers offense gave the pitchers no margin for error in two of the games, and tonight the Braves capitalized on their chances when they got them and the Brewers hitters didn’t; plain and simple. It has nothing to do with the manager. Did the manager help them tonight with his decisions?? Yes or no??
  6. I am with you here. Way too little was being made of the we got it locked up. If they didn't sweep the Mets they are a wild card. Counsell didn't push them down the stretch hoping the switch would get flipped. Bad call.
  7. The Brewers have to sit down this offseason and come up with a plan of how to fix the offense with the dh coming on board the pitching is going to be impacted. You are going to have to score more runs. More consistent ab. Urias and Adames and Wong are good to go. Everyone else is under evaluation.
  8. I really think they're going to have to make big moves this off season. It's likely going to mean dangling Hader and yelich in front of the Yankees with only prospects in return. Yelich contract is so toxic right now they have to find a way to dump it No one is dangling Yelich. He is worthless. He is one of the worst contract values in baseball. He is not going anywhere. Dangle Yelich?? Lol
  9. Did you grow up in Bay and Counsell bullied you or something? Holy crap your constant criticism moves past the point of logic and seems like its a personal agenda. Almost all of Counsell's big decisions back fired. Really tough series for him in terms of results. You can make a good decision that ends up having a bad result, but doesn't mean it wasn't the right decision at the time. Now I think there is definitely room to question the line up construction and how he handled the catchers, but that's not even close to what lost them this series. The reasoning behind his decisions with Peralta yesterday and Lauer and Hader today are all there and pretty easy to understand but you're just choosing to ignore it. Nope. Counsell got outmanaged today and yesterday period. First guessing all of it all day long. Bottom line he did not help the cause today at all. Is he a good manager sure. Doesn't mean he was good this series. Hitting Yelich three is indefensible.
  10. They went out and got Escobar and benched him only to watch him go 2-2 pinch hitting the last two games. Meanwhile Yelich is hitting three. It's like a dad letting his kid start just because he's his kid. Bad stuff. Guessing Escobar won't forget it this offseason.
  11. Does the guys body look like a guy who is going to get in the gym and get healthy?? Bulk up a bit?? I don't think so.
  12. The manager has to help get a struggling team over the hump with some big decisions. Counsell actively hurt the cause today. Shame on him for being outmanaged this badly today not to mention the brutal decision of yesterday. Yelich needs to look in the mirror but so does Counsell.
  13. The good thing about this board is you can see the first guessing on this game all night long. Brutal job by Counsell and there is no defense.
