  1. Santana threw pitches? This team just can't work a count outside of Cain and Yelich to a degree. Thames too. Wow.
  2. Brewers continue to work behind in the count to guys hitting. 220 and below. Unbelievable how many times guys who can't hit are behind made better by being in hitters counts. Meanwhile the Arcia of the world are in an 0-2 hole every ab.
  3. You got to go to the pen here. Don't let Chase blow this.
  4. Cain on base three more times today. He has been amazing. What a significant signing.
  5. That could be it. Too many missed opportunities. Love Thames swinging at first pitch. This team seems to give opposing pitchers the easy way out very often. Struggling? Let me help you out.
  6. Did anyone here think Pina wouldn't strike out or hit into a double play? He has been brutal this year. Jett Bandy brutal.
  7. This is on Counsell. Just because a guy is down there doesn't mean you have to use him. Lopez has been here for over two weeks and hasn't pitched an inning. I just don't understand it.
  8. Fun game and great win. Maddon making moves like he knows the brewers are going to be around all year and needed a win to keep the narrative going. Brewers have to feel like a bit of a monkey is off their backs. Also Chacin has been fantastic. Very impressed with that dude!!
  9. Maddon always seems to be step ahead of everyone. Puts Contreras out there just in time. I don't like how smug he can be but the dude is a good manager.
  10. Other than it being extremely annoying and against what I believe should be against the rules, I agree. Why is against the rules?? Just two guys switching spots on D. No issue. Make them pay.
  11. I will be happy to be wrong!! Like using Hader here.
  12. To a tune of a .629 OPS this year and .713 for his career. We have a different definition of killing lefties. I'm not a huge bunting guy, but this was pretty much the perfect situation to bunt. Late innings, up just 1 run, runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs and the bottom of the order coming up. If there's ever a time to bunt, that was it. Let's not let facts get in the way of a good argument.
  13. Get ready for the a leadoff walk and a couple runs for the cubs. 2-1 loss coming up.
  14. Who here though Perez would have a great ab and move the runners up at least?? Me either.
  15. Just out of curiosity, why would his playing career be irrelevant? He obviously had enough athletic ability to make it to the Major Leagues. But he was a below average Major League hitter. If he was unable to develop himself as a hitter, when he had every motivation in the world to do so (his financial future depended on his ability to play the game), what makes anybody think that he can develop others as hitters? What has Darnell Coles shown that convinces anybody he's the answer? What raw talent has he developed into a top flight hitter? I agree. Imagine the bucks hiring a shooting coach who in his playing career was a 35% shooter?? He may be a nice guy and all but if he couldn't shoot well enough when he played why would players listen to him with their careers? I don't get it not being relevant.
  16. To answer the question at hand, no he does not appear to know what he is doing. The Arcia situation is the latest example of someone who just doesn't appear to be listening to Coles. Look at what Chili Davis has done with Heyward. Batting instructors can make an impact on guys. The Brewers lack of plate discipline is something that goes to the heart of why he has to go. Perez hasn't gotten better. Santana is worse. Pina is not good. Who can we point to that has improved on his watch?? Villar after last year?? He should be gone. The other thing is baseball is the only sport where a guy who couldn't hit in his career is supposed to teach other guys who can't hit how. I know it's not the end all but would be nice if you had someone who at least had a track record of some success.
  17. I wonder what guys think when they watch Arcia at the plate. Is there an unwritten rule where a guy like Braun who takes his craft seriously can't say dude come on. Obviously Coles is not getting through. Someone has to do something. Swinging 3-0 tonight is a fireable offense.
  18. Post game media was awful as usual. No tough question just hard fought game with these guys again Craig?? No hard questions on big decisions. I wish we could fly in the New York media when we play the Cubs.
  19. Is the Cubs roster just player-to-player better? If not, then the mental or whatever issue that the Brewers are having need to be figured out. It is more than frustrating to see the results in the season series so far. It might end up not only costing the division, but a playoff spot period. In a word yes. That said the cubs would never carry three guys who you cannot play at this point like the brewers are. Cubs treat every game like it is a big deal. Brewers are acting like no big deal if we carry some guys who can't play.
