  1. Oh looks it's Knebel. Forgot he was still on the team considering we never give him a save opportunity.
  2. This season is over. The rebuild is over. It's time to trade Braun, Yelich, Cain and the rest of the club to Kansas City and start all over again with a new batch of 18 year olds. Craig Counsell should be immediately fired as manager and replaced with a younger more muscular youth. Kidding for those not fluent in sarcasm. But seriously, our rotation sucks.
  3. I'll grant you Chris Narveson, but those other 2 really were as bad of pitchers as some people have made it out that most of the starters for the Brewers will be this year. I won't guarantee that Chacin will end the year under 5.00 ERA, but I would be pretty surprised if he has as bad a year as those guys turned in for their Brewer careers. I really hope Chase Anderson is the same pitcher he was last year, otherwise we're in for a nightmare season.
  4. I wish I could watch the game. I feel like I miss so much not being able to see it live. I know you're in college, but I just read that espn is charging 4.99 a month to stream every hockey and baseball game starting like April 12... Edit: maybe not every, but more. I bought MLB.tv last year during the postseason push. It's pretty laggy and glitches quite a bit...wasn't happy with it. I was going to buy again this year regardless, but I finish my undergrad this summer and my last classes are online, so I'll be home to watch this summer before I come back for graduate school. Once May hits I'll be able to see the games or listen on 620 which I prefer because of Uecker. Just going to be the first five or so weeks that I have to unfortunately follow online.
  5. Can someone inform me what happened to Yelich? following on MLB gamecast...need reassurance this is minor.
  6. on a positive note Eric Thames is batting 1.000 against pitchers who's surname begins with M in the first inning, at home! So there's something to think about... http://cdn1.thecomeback.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/94/2014/01/harrydoyle.jpg
  7. The way the starting rotation is looking, I'm doubting they will be close enough to contention for it to matter. I admit I was optimistic that they would be able to cobble together a solid rotation, but my fears are totally being realized. If that's the case, it's a real shame we couldn't put together a deal with all the talent we have. We don't need an ace (Jimmy Nelson is good enough, when he gets back), we need a couple of three starters that can post a 3.50-4.00 ERA and keep us in the mix to round out the rotation. Our offense can handle the rest.
  8. I wish I could watch the game. I feel like I miss so much not being able to see it live.
  9. My hope is that Nelson can get back before too much damage is done and Stearns pulls off a blockbuster trade deadline deal. Until then, we're just going to pray the bats can carry us that far into contention.
  10. Josh Hader honestly pitcher really well as a starter in his minor league career. He had a 3.03 ERA/1.01 WHIP in 24 starts in AA in 2015 ad a 3.29 ERA/1.02 WHIP in 25 starts in 2016. Struggled a bit after that, but I think the Brewers should've given him a chance in the rotation this year.
  11. Great trip through the heart of the order. It's okay. Just chip away and put Braun in in the 9th and we got this.
  12. When was the last time the Brewers signed a free agent pitcher that actually panned out...
  13. I feel like the only person on this board that has any faith in Eric Sogard haha.
  14. Second base is definitely going to be our biggest problem this year. We should've signed Neil Walker.
  15. Pirates are off to a 2-0 start after a homer by Josh Bell. Bell is looking really good this year, 8-for-17 now following up on a pretty solid 2017 campaign. I'm still not at all worried about the Pirates, but they have looked pretty good through the first few games.
  16. Cardinals announced their lineup for tonight: Fowler RF Pham CF Carpenter 3B Ozuna LF J. Martínez 1B Molina C DeJong SS Wong 2B C. Martínez P
  17. I'm excited this game is on Fox so I can actually watch it ( Texas problems) .
  18. Not sure how I feel about Eric Thames batting lead off. High strike-out rate and not a whole lot of speed. Given his power, wouldn't it be better to move him down in the order and put either Villar or Yelich in the lead of slot? Just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, he's not a lead off kinda dude.
  19. Honestly, sounds like you're debating with a strawman. Everyone since your initial post has agreed with you. But as you're ripping him down, you claim some other teams want to trade for him. Why would they if he's as bad as you say he is? Also, what is exactly the harm in keeping him around? There's no real reason to keep him around. Once again, just because I don't personally see him as a valuable player, doesn't mean I don't acknowledge that some teams might want him. He has trade value, but he doesn't have a place on a playoff contending team. As for the strawman statement, once again, I was initially responding to having right a couple of articles recently that pegged him as an above-average talent, which he isn't in my opinion. Like most Brewers fans, I'm really just getting annoyed that we haven't been able to find the right deal to solve some of our problems. Having an abundance of talent is great, but not when you're weak in other areas. Stearns has had months to find a deal that would fix this problem, but is holding on to guys that could be used as trade chips that we really don't need (Broxton).
  20. Would anyone want to join a slightly late fantasy baseball league? I failed to get on board with one this year and itching to have one.
