  1. Except one of Shaw, Schoop, and Moose will be on the bench every day to start. This is such a curious move. Not if you just put Arcia on the bench
  2. Let's say Jimmy Nelson comes back in September and gets a rehab start in the minor league post-season, would you be willing to give him the ball in an elimination game after maybe just a start or two in Milwaukee all season?
  3. Probably headed to Colorado Springs. Villar is off the 40-man now.
  4. Harvey can still be acquired if needed. Cost is not going to be significant. Question is whether he is an upgrade. My personal feeling is no. IF things work out and we can get Jimmy Nelson back (which is appearing less and less likely) our rotation would be Nelson, Davies, Anderson, Chachin and Guerra. Not bad at all, assuming Nelson is what he used to be. It's a big if, just wishful thinking.
  5. Speaking of which, any word on his foot from last night?
  6. We'll never know, but I really wish we could go back and see what kind of offers Stearns made for Archer, Harvey and Gausmann. We were so close to deals according to the rumors, at least for Harvey.
  7. Stearns is genius. I'm glad he didn't give up Burnes or Hiura. He's really trying to build a perennial contender and avoid the typical small-market up an down cycle.
  8. If he played SS.. 1. Yelich 2. Moose 3. Cain 4. Aguilar 5. Shaw 6. Braun 7. Schoop 8. Pina That's lethal...minus Pina.
  9. Why not just put Schoop at shortstop? He played over 200 games there in the minor leagues, he knows how to field it. Then you have Moose-Shaw-Schoop in almost every day and the offensive black hole that is Arcia isn't a problem anymore
  10. 4 guys for two positions. Moose/Shaw vs RH starter, Schoop/Villar vs LH starter I'd rather have Shaw in the lineup than Villar against lefties.
  11. I'm glad the Brewers didn't get Archer. Pirates look like they gave up too much.
  12. Alright Shaw walking it off hopefully, now let’s finish this game off so I can get to sleep. My bed awaits.
  13. Ready for these west coast games to be over, sleep is getting off lol
  14. Braun has already been hitting well this season, they just aren’t falling. He has the highest line drive percentage of his career. He’s been very unlucky to say the least.
  15. Because I believe the best performing players for the current season should be represented and not guys that get in simply because they're big names?
  16. A lot of people have been critical of the voting process for the All Star Game. What do you think would be the best way to assure that the best players get in and eliminate bias/popularity from the equation as much as possible?
  17. I'd much rather use what resources we have in the system to bring in Noah Syndegaard. We'd have him through 2022 and given that he's only earning about $2.7 million this year versus I think $16 million for Machado, we could maybe bring in Syndegaard and still make a push for some other help upgrades without completely breaking the bank.
  18. Lazy people who are incapable of walking their grocery cart back to its proper place and just leave them in parking spaces when there's already limited parking as it is.
  19. Great vision on the base paths too. 20/21 on stolen base attempts this year in Colorado Springs.
  20. I want to win the division so much more now that I recently heard a sports talk show host from Chicago say the Brewers had a quote "zero percent chance" at winning the division. Let's keep the wins rolling!
  21. It can cost a lot of money to just bring up any reliever who's doing well in Colorado Springs. You want to make sure it's worth that money before making assumptions. It's not all about who the most talented players are, if so, Vlad Jr. would've been in the major league to start the season for the Blue Jays. I'd want to have a really high level of confidence in some guy before throwing away half a million dollars on a league minimum contract.
  22. What are you even talking about? I've barely ever said a word about Kratz and he's a backup catcher that barely moves the needle one way or another. You admit 'Logan has never been a good reliever' yet you defend him in a pen full of good relievers. And 11 innings is a pretty good sample for a mediocre LOOGY to get DFAed, especially when you don't need a LOOGY. You don't give huge leashes to guys that were never that good in the first place. Ask Neftali Feliz or Tommy Milone. I said he's never been a good reliever. He's also never been a bad reliever minus a season or two throughout his career. Every bullpen needs one or two of those guys. You can't have an entire bullpen of Josh Hader's and JJ's. He's actually been a pretty consistent back-end reliever for a long time now.
  23. From a fan's perspective, I agree. However, having been involved with collegiate programs there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes and a lot of the time there is a reason you may not know about as a fan for why they choose who they do. Craig Counsell isn't an idiot and if he makes a call, I'm sure there's some rationale behind it. But yeah, Boone Logan has been disappointing so far. Hopefully he can pick it back up The only thing he needs to pick up are his belongings from his locker. 11 innings. Yet, Erik Kratz is totally fine with you because he's hit well for like 25 at-bats. Logan has never been a good reliever, but he's not atrocious throughout his career.
