Stearns has a lot to consider constructing and managing this roster just 12 games in - injuries, roster flexibility, options, salaries, performance, manager's preferences... wildly interesting times for the Crew.
-
He earned permanent spot up here, didn't he?
-
Bowman is up for the Cards and he throws heat too.
-
keep the pressure on, boys! Good start Shaw. Time for Jesus.
-
I admire your unflinching criticism of CC's use of the pen. For the record, I shake my head often, but there aren't many fanbases who don't.
-
Playing with fire here the past few innings. Lots of baserunners in red and white.
-
He didn't know Hader, Barnes, and Knebel until last season. He put them in high leverage situations to find out what they could do and they delivered. Knebel Barnes got forced into it by everyone else sucking and he babied the hell out of hader. So, Williams will come on by June and be a a force in the bullpen for our wild card run?

Jeffress vs. Ozuna Great matchup for a lazy Tuesday night here in the cold Midwest.

They have Jordan Hicks, who they use in big spots. We have Taylor Williams, who has similar stuff, but is apparently not to be trusted. Instead, we get two innings of Ducky. I thought CC, in year's past, would put young guys in spots like that to see what they could do. Seems like his philosophy has changed with the higher expectations this season.

They have Jordan Hicks; we have Oliver Drake. I like Oliver, but that Hicks kid throws some serious heat.

Is it Sunday, yet?

Supersize swing from Arcia with 2 strikes.
-
What the hell, Pina?!? Coming out, limping from first base.
-
I don't care what anybody says, I am glad he's with the Crew!
-
Thata boy Brett! Let's get him in scoring position and actually score this time!
-
He can't be savage on the bench, either.
-
Not even close with those 4 pitches, wow.
-
He was frustrated with his rotation and Machado mostly. Dog days of July were unkind for that group.
-
Need some Suter savviness here big time.
-
Pretty sure I was at that game and was supper bummed that Suter pitched that day. He had tickets to that right field section right on the field and the game was over rather quick. Yes, it was 7-0 after 2 innings. Buck Showalter was beside himself in the dugout with Machado's lackluster play that day. Suter replaced Chase that day, who must have just started his DL stint with the hammy, right?
-
I attend a game or two each summer and I became a Suter fan last season when he made a start in July against Baltimore (Miley started that game and got shelled by the Crew early) Suter showed some savviness at the plate that day. With Arcia on first, Suter was faking the bunt/swing on several offerings completely playing with Manny Machado's mind at 3rd. He pushes a bunt toward short and beats the throw for an infield single showing some decent speed. Machado, mindlessly, fails to cover third and Arcia beats him to 3rd but overslides and races home. Machado and his teammates completely flubbed the rundown and Arcia scores. Suter went 6, 0 ER, 8K's, got the W.

does drinking help or only magnify the pain

Cardinals tv team is saying how nice CC would be to Yadi and the ump if he did come out and argue. No expletives from our guy. in a condescending way like there is no way an opposing team will ever again come at Yadi or they will pay a bigger price than Lovullo did yesterday. Nauseating.

2 outfield assists for the first 4 outs of the game! Catching some breaks and making some plays.
