  1. I just closed all of mine, except for this one of course.
  2. Is it possible that he has already received consequences for these tweets? I would think that his high school coaches, teachers, and other school officials, parents, etc... would have been informed in some way about these tweets at the time they were posted. But, since the tweets were still on his account years later, probably not. Still hard for me to believe that this went unaccounted for back in 2011 and 2012.
  3. Hader’s tweets are brutal and absolutely he will go through some sort of MLB/team led sensitivity training. Those words he uses have no place in our society. It should also be noted that the person/people who uncovered these tweets and blasted them out during the middle of the All-Star Game have contributed to the darkness of this issue. That was a dirty play on the part of those who are involved. Hate piled on top of hate seems to be the way some like to solve problems. They are likely celebrating the fact that they sabotaged Hader. His tweets are horrible but so was the intention of the people who leaked them out.
  4. Jesus will win the HR derby
  5. We have so much depth on the 40 man that we could buy or sell and still make it to post season.
  6. Cubs vs. Cards in 8 of the first 11 games after the break. They split those 8 and Cubs pitching staff resumes their mediocre efforts, we might be in business come August.
  7. Will be interesting to see how they do against some easier competition. Cards/Cubs/Cards/Mets was a pretty rough schedule after the opening series. Now with Reds and Marlins this week, they should be able to right the ship. Absolutely! Nice to get back home and get back on track in MP, win a few games there, and start to feel better physically too.
  8. At times it has felt like October baseball, weather included.
  9. 1. Who cares what someone who doesn't even like baseball thinks? 2. I don't even know what this means, but that is what spring training is for. 3. Been this way forever, we just happen to have a bunch of guys banged up right now. 4. Maybe so but again this is the way it has always been, same thing for every sport 5. We are having a colder start than average this year, let's calm down. obvious solution is make teams build a roof Allow me to further explain each then: 1. Fans like high quality baseball with smaller DL lists 2 a pitching staff is managed very differently in April than it is 2 months from now - many believe a staff could use more time to develop roles and avoid injuries with an expanded roster 3. The 10 day DL is a relatively new concept and some organizations like MB, as has been noted here by the experts, has struggled managing this and all of the minor injuries these guys end up dealing with early in the season. 4. You don't think change is ever good? just do it because that's the way it always has been done, okay. What other sports play 6-7 days a week? 5. and finally yes we cant control the weather, but MLB can control the schedule.
  10. But you can't make a team be on the road for 2-3 weeks. There's nothing that could've been done about this. In a weird way all the bad weather stadiums probably have home games now because most were on the road to start the year due to this strategy and now are at home. Folks I've bantered with regarding this generally have come to a consensus that: 1. Season is too long from a calendar standpoint 2. Rosters should be expanded early on to allow a pitching staff develop some rhythm 3. It is not easy to manage these minor injuries, even with a 10 day DL 4. Players need days off early on in order to maintain a high quality product later 5 The weather generally sucks and not conducive to playing and/or watching live baseball in many cases. I love the game and look forward to every season, but I wonder if the quality of the product long term would be better than what we get here in early April.
  11. I've had discussions with coaches who are mlb fans regarding the number of injuries and weather related postponements early in each season. Would MLB and the players union ever consider starting ST later, push back opening day to 3rd week of April, and bring back the double header concept in the summer. Heck, even expand rosters for the first few weeks in order to preserve overall health and quality of the product. There are plenty of warm cities and cities with domes. It wouldn't be that hard to have a schedule that mostly avoids cold weather early in the season. Like San Diego, Milwaukee, and St. Louis. Hasn't helped the Crew this year with injuries.. Must be just a fluke thing.

  13. It's all good as long as our guys show plate discipline, avoid mental errors on base paths and throw to the correct base. I'm all for having "fun" and messing with fans. Just be able to back it up consistently.
  14. A couple of misplays by Mets fielders and 2 bonehead decisions by Mets manager have helped Crew to the lead.
  15. Nice to see the Crew able to be opportunistic today considering how the first 2 hours of this game had developed.
  16. Aguilar with a very impressive battle against Syndergaard. Like his approach and shortened up a bit with 2 strikes.
  17. CC is gone. Wonder if Chacin is hurt. Every team (and many fans) could use a spring break about now. Tough sledding.
  18. Did Chacin hurt himself running down the first base line? He pulled up awkwardly to avoid a collision with Met 1B.
  19. Packer fans -- remember how many years went by when you'd wish every morning to pick up your phone and see news of a Dom Capers firing? I'm definitely getting to that point with Darnell Coles. This guy is running out of excuses. Just curious; what are the excuses?
  20. warm up the bus; let's catch our flight back to sunny warm WISC
  21. With as much movement as Syndergaard is getting on all of his pitches, looks like the approach is: close eyes and swing hard.
  22. Came up limping after striking out. Injuries...hooray! Thames' oblique is so large, it extends to his lower half.
