  1. Cardinals tv team is saying how nice CC would be to Yadi and the ump if he did come out and argue. No expletives from our guy.
  2. Arcia with a 2 out double and rbi. Setting a great tone in St. Louis. (As St.Louis announcers rip on AZ mgr and defend Yadi, for the last 3 Brewers batters in the inning)
  3. Shaw - 2 feet away from his 2nd HR of 2018. Hey we caught a break! Good start.
  4. Great hustle by Fowler; nice throw and tag to get the out! Was Cain somewhat nonchalant getting to the ball, or am I just conditioned to see that type of stuff lately.
  5. Researching the effect of oblique injuries, it was very wishful thinking to give him a few days to see if he could play. He struggled to swing a bat apparently the other day. Obliques are very tricky with all the torque on a player's core muscles. It hurts to sneeze. Try swinging a bat facing a 95 mph fastball and making contact with a sore oblique.
  6. Excitement and expectations! Let's put together a good string of fundamental baseball starting tonight. Back on the road again. "Please don't hate me mama for the things I'm about to do...."
  7. Well, You know what they say about "enlightening" questions....
  8. Nothing would be sweeter than to go down to Misery and take 2 out of 3, except the sweep of course.
  9. Let us all remember now, the Cardinals determine the rules of play inside and outside the lines. Yadi is a pupil of Tony LaRussa.
  10. If the mental mistakes result in 2 consecutive 90+ loss seasons, attendance declines, and rumblings in the clubhouse cause distractions, then 2020. So, highly unlikely. I see the Crew staying in the hunt and breaking through to reach playoffs 2 of the next 3 seasons.
  11. Today, the Cubs TV announcers referred to Brewer fans as overreacting and in panic mode relative to the play of the team this week. They mentioned how even keeled CC is and his calm demeanor in the Press Conf stating that the staff will address the issues and move on. I understand it is a long season and it is easy for the opposing team's announcer team to downplay opposing team fan reaction, but there are so many examples of lack of focus and discipline. Today, examples of lack of hustle - really disappointing. For this team, with the level of expectations, to open up at home this week and put on a poor display of fundamental baseball is alarming. Even in San Diego there were situations in the field and base paths that were not up to major league level. Arcia not getting a jump from third on a ball in play that he should have scored, outfielders throwing to wrong base. It seems like we have witnessed some extremes - hero ball attempts to make plays that are errors in judgement; plays that show lack of discipline and awareness of situations; and today lack of hustle. Then, add to the fact that we don't have our best starter (arguably), our closer, and now our best player in Yelich- it seems we have a perfect mess of a storm. Just venting some concern; hopefully lots of good baseball to witness here in the days to come.
  12. Yes, I agree with much of what you stated above. It would be nice to have an everyday 2nd baseman (who is consistent). It would have been nice to acquired a TOR pitcher for a player or players on the ML roster that make it a win-win trade for both teams. 1st base would have worked itself out most likely with a trade for a pitcher. On the other hand CC has to look at keeping guys fresh - Cain and Braun could use off days - and we have 2 ordinary 1st basemen and 2 ordinary 2nd basemen. So those are areas that, until someone takes the bull by the horns, we will see a platoon in place. Further, there are guys who are making mental mistakes left and right in the field and base paths. Does CC just keep plugging them in or do they need some not so subtle reminders that PT is earned?
  13. I suggest they all sit down and watch their Sandlot remake to build some team chemistry. Or maybe that’s what is tearing this team apart? Only some were in it. And there’s always the possibility that bringing back Hank has cursed this team too. Haudricourt should get on that story. It is easy to have great chemistry when things are going well. I am looking forward to seeing how they respond this early to a series of tough circumstances. Last year was very different early in terms of expectations, pitching staff/bullpen roles in question, lots of new faces, etc.... This year, roles seem to be established, playoffs expected, but throw in injuries, shaky defense and questionable focus in the home opening week. I don't doubt the guys in the clubhouse, but it is still going to a challenge and hopefully fun to watch them overcome these early hurdles.
  14. Along with the length of time, here is another thought. Will he have to modify the last phase of his follow thru after he delivers a pitch. He has a real funky landing with his left leg that could be putting way too much strain on the back of his knee and hamstring. Again, physical therapists in the house?
  15. We will find out very soon how strong this year's team chemistry and comraderie truly is. This will be quite a test over the next couple of weeks and can really set the tone leading into the summer months.

  17. This is a great opportunity for the leaders of this team to regroup/reset and hold everyone accountable for minimizing these mental mistakes that are frustrating to see. I look forward to these guys using this adversity to step up and start playing up to their capabilities and there is no better time than starting tomorrow against the Cubs.
  18. Knebel's track record of not being able to locate his curve due to lack of "work" is something that is brought up often in Brewer message boards and is a part of the plan that the coaching staff uses to keep him on top his game. The issue could be a lingering effect from tweaking his leg in spring training.
  19. sorry if this has already been confirmed, but according to MLB this is the first time in history a game has started and ended with back to back bombs.
  20. Booing takes very little effort and intelligence.
  21. The entire narrative of how both teams are on the rise and moving in the right direction was lazy reporting. These teams are in totally different places - San Diego is not remotely close to competing for anything but a high draft pick right now.
  22. Yes, I saw that too. Even on cold days in Cincy the ball carries like few other places. Felt bad for Gallardo though because it appeared he didn't have much life on any of his pitches today (or the past 2 years for that matter).
  23. I really hope Albers solidifies the 8th inning set up role, as it seems that is what CC has planned. It is nice to have some insurance there, provided by Barnes, as well.
  24. What we need is Virtual Reality play by play with Ueck in his prime with Pat Hughes.
