  1. Brewers have a top 10 starting rotation in the MLB. I wouldn't say its lacking. Its lacking, if you are wanting to compete in the playoffs. Other than Chacin, Gurrera, Anderson, we have nobody that can pitch to hot hitting teams like the dodgers, astros, yanks, bosox. And it isnt like these 3 can be expected to go thru orders 3 times. Only decent for at most 5 innings. Our BP will be fine when Albers comes back. We gotta pick up machado and give the orioles what they asked for (broxton, arcia, CB). Then pick up an ace that we control thru 2020. That will secure a playoff run for the next few years.
  2. we really struggle hitting the ball or stringing hits together without HRs. Although we do well against the most solid pitchers (oddly). Pounded all star Greinke, beat kluber, and pound arietta. Its wierd but we struggle against garbage pitchers.
  3. We only have 3 quality starters. Maybe peralta can become a 4th quality guy but prolly not for another season. Just outgunned today with miley and houser. Pittsburgh isnt a bad team and we knew we would need at least 5 runs today. Fell short but we have Gurrea, Chacin, and Anderson pitching the next 3 with a fresh bullpen. Should be fine.
  4. Get crushed today??? Thanks for letting us know. Isn't any other pitcher to use... NO... Woodruff was actually lined up, they chose Wilkerson because of the year he's having in AAA. 3 innings? No, he's stretched out as a starter. Sogard plays for Colorado Springs, lol. Don't have starting pitching depth? Anderson, Guerra, Chacin, Suter, Perralta, Davies, Miley, Nelson, Woodruff, Wilkerson... How many do we need? Depth we have. You are wrong, we have no starting pitcher depth. 4 of the guys you mentioned are injured. And woodruff and Wilkerson arent mlb, but milb. That said, Peralta has worked his way up to possibly snatch a playoff roster spot. Guerra, Chacin, Peralta, Anderson, and our new ace we snatch by the deadline. We need a #1. Someone who doesnt get smacked around post 5th inning 3rd time around.

  6. other than minny, we have struggled to take advantage of using the first wins of a series only to end up with splits after losing the back ends. While we will get crushed today, there isnt any other pitcher to use other than Wilkerson. If we can get 3 innings from him, who do we put in? IMO, even if he gives 3 innings, just leave him in there for 7 and treat this as a spring training day. Use up all of sogards ABs as well. Maybe let williams pitch the last 2 innings. We simply dont have starting pitching depth so dont blame Counsell.
  7. Sogard's ticket out of town is punched when Saladino returns. I wouldn't count on it. They love having "Honey I shrunk the kids" around.
  8. a few greater needs to fill. Pina isnt that bad, actually, but he is having a down year batting. Yes we can certainly use 2 catchers but i dont think we upgrade that spot unless we are unsuccessful with upgrading the infield.
  9. Is this the 5th time? Let's get to 16 tomorrow. This is the 7th time! we need a few more cy young opponents to get over the hump. Seem to struggle against half baked pitchers but smack the ball against great pitchers.
  10. He doesnt suck. He just isnt giving the team his all as he used to. Hopefully he redoubles his commitment to the team if we get in the playoffs.
  11. its becauss we have the most worthless TV deal. This is the last year though. TV deal gets renegotiated after this season and the team is in prime position to improve upon our lame TV deal, unless they have the same guys negotiating it. i hate the fb games
  12. i agree. Why isnt this team more picky with their swings? Starting pitchers dont hit 90 pitches against us until late in the game.
  13. announcers keep saying he is 300 lbs. He runs good for being so big. But yea, he will prolly get another day off rest now. We have plenty of minor leaguers on the team that can fill in.
  14. we looked unbelievably awful the last two games. Almost dead. I have hope but...wow....with how we are playing since June 1, it's hard to imagine us getting into the playoffs. I think we make it to the wildcard because other NL teams have holes as well, but hopefully, we stop trying to figure out who can play in this league, and stop mixing and matching our minor leaguers. That evaluation period was suppose to end in Spring Training, and only non playoff teams bring up all the minor leaguers in September. We are doing it now. Last two games we had minor league pitchers called up and tossed into the games when the game was on the line. 13 runs later, these two pitchers gotta be sent back down. Puh leeeasseeeeeee. Warning Will Robinson!
  15. One of our brightest prospects, Corey Ray, just got named to the MILB Team of the Week with his 3 Homers, etc. I think he is one of our top 10 prospects. Hopefully, with other teams scouting our prospects for trades, our MILB players have some good weeks ahead of the deadline.
  16. Nottingham can wait. Nothing against him but Stearns has scrambled trying to mix and match going cheap trying to address problems. I mean, Pina can barely hit but he is like problem #4. Let's at least try to solve our greatest problem by finally adding an ace. We have a bunch of starting pitchers that are good journeyman and can pinch us 5 innings, but they get the heck smacked out of them going through the batting order the 3rd time. And we don't have that reliever that can stand in the gap if our starter gets in trouble or only goes 5 innings. We been losing games from inning 5-7. That said, I see the following as our greatest needs. 1. ACE 2. SS/2nd 3. Someone better than Zski or that new pitcher who got clocked today 4. Pina Obviously, DS is going to spend the cash and grab an ACE. That's good news. But I think he will have to at least get us a average infielder. We can't keep relying on Honey I Shrunk the Kids and his .134 avg. Not for a playoff team. The TV announcers will eat us alive if we play a guy who hits below .150. How exactly will an "ACE" help when the offense can barely scratch together 2 runs? Even with that putrid offense the starting pitching keeps us in games. Get a couple bats and the pitching goes from keeping us in games to winning us games. we have great hitters, there just isnt any urgency as Counsell is still mixing and matching lineups like its spring training. And in his press conference after our first spanking at the hands of the reds, he said he had nobody available and we ran out of gas. So what does he do next? He sits Aguilar. Cmon maaaaaan! There is a reason why this franchise never won a ws!
  17. You guys think we will make the playoffs? I do. Look at the other wildcard teams, I think we have a shot. Obviously, the Cubs are smacking the ball around and seems to have finally found their groove. Let's focus on progressing this year to at least make the playoffs, unlike last year. Let Hura develop some more. Pick up an ACE, and we should be able to win the wildcard. Then who knows? But as long as we get to the playoffs, that is progress.

  19. I think this crappy play all but solidifies 2 transactions. One ACE for sure. And a decent infielder. They spent a lot on Yellich and Cain, now they have to chase their investment. Other teams in contention will make monster pickups, so must we. We will. As is, we are still a solid team, just not strong enough to win consistently. We are below .500 after May ended and are treading water as a .500 team.
  20. We arent going to be in first place after monday. We have a good bullpen but not when we decide to sit down our good relievers while playing mix and match games with various career minor leaguers who have no business in this league. We been getting crushed with awful call ups.
  21. Harvey only has 41 pitches in 4 innings. No hitter. Maybe because we have a bunch of Minor leaguers in the lineup. And if Braun is still playing through an injury, why did we rest Aguilar? O risn't Aguilar allowed to have a game where he doesn't get a hit without setting him down the next day? We don't have any resistance in the lineup. Shaw's bat has been awol. Aguilar was our hottest bat but he got his day of rest.
  22. Counsell waived Scooter? March 28, 2017 the reds picked him up. Dude is batting like .330 with at least 12 HR. Counsell, like any manager has a strong voice in waiving players.
  23. C'mon Peralta, maybe he can regather. Not that we will be able to score runs, but the Reds are a good hitting team and let's see if Peralta can work through.
  24. I guess I'm missing where the brilliance is. When he hits a homer every now and then between the first pitch ground outs and three pitch strikeouts? Perez isn't half bad as a utility player. I certainly don't see him as the problem except maybe that we have to rely on him as "The Bat" when we decide to sit down our studs for rest in the 4th game of series. BTW, Braun's nicks are really starting to be a burden for us. He's old but not that old. My Gosh. I like Braun but I'm not sure our team has the sorta urgent attitude needed to take a pennant. Don't get me wrong, they are professional, but WS teams are more than professional. It's more than a job. These rants are hilarious and making today’s game a bit better. From a comical standpoint. Gotta make sure we can have some humor out of watching our team get spanked. This appears to be the 3rd series in a row where we win the first part of the series then lose the last part and end up with a split. Other than maybe Maddon, I think Counsell changes lineups more than any other coach.
