  1. Makes more sense - explained - but I selfishly still want to see Ruiz up and playing in center daily - see if he is a spark.
  2. Ok… huh? only good thing is no more 3 catchers but besides that - huh? What are we doing ?
  3. Same thought/ frustration I have - ESPECIALLY after not acquiring another bat. Why is Ruiz not up? Oh yea, we rather have 3 catchers. (insert shrug emoji).
  4. He’s gotten too cute this year. And other times is asleep at the week. No bat will fix that.
  5. I’m so frustrated today….. I need an adult beverage.
  6. Hey at least we have 3 catchers on the roster still. Who can pinch hit and look at a strike 3 with bases loaded so there’s that.
  7. There we go. All we gotta do is raise enough hay and … boom. Let’s go boys.
  8. We sure do make guys with ERA’s over 6 look good. So very glad we grabbed us 20 relief pitchers to protect 1-0 and 2-0 deficits. Don’t mind my hot take lol. I do wish we had Ruiz up and in center though - let’s see what he’s got!
  9. I would say 20-25% would be accurate. However, as stated in the Hader thread, I believe the sum of the parts is greater than Hader. The bullpen will be better as a whole than it has been of late, because of the trades. As from the 5th/6th on we have more stability - and less "HOLD ON FOR DEAR LIFE AND HOPE" pieces.
  10. Well, they have to considering we are getting Soto AND Bell :). I would probably cry at what that would take... so I hope just Bell.

  12. So you're saying..... there's still a chance! The more I read about the Hader deal the more I understand how starters or position players carry more value than even the best reliever. Mind you, even the best reliever can falter and then its a catastrophic result (as we saw Hader in July). It's sort of an ah-ha moment for me... and yet we still have DWill and got back Rogers, and added Bush - so overall, we have less pressure on the Gotts and Milners (who already are showing their run of magic may be over) - so the bullpen as a whole may be quite a bit better today than it was yesterday. Consider me intrigued.
  13. I'd like to know more about Gasser , and where Lamet is health wise (as he has been nasty in the past)... BUT... Esteury Ruiz is what I am excited about. Check out what he has done this year with his BB/SO and getting on base. He also is FAST. I could see him being what the Brewers brass sees as a guy we could run with in CF and profiles as an on base threat. You will see him undervalued/rated in a lot of "polls" as this year I think he finally put it together. I also think there will be more moves, and wonder where this will lead us.
  14. Me thinks we will be getting some arms back just in time. Gott and Milner may have hit their expiration date on their magic.
  15. I second (or 4th) that emotion! Not only the trade for him as an obvious win but Renfroe over Garcia is a plus as well! Very good move!
  16. To be honest - The more I think about it - instead of Laureano and what he probably would cost. I rather take a flier on Gallo (provided it is CHEAP). We have all these CF types that are ascending quickly - but - if Gallo got sort of right again - he could give a nice jolt. He also plays a good CF. The idea of a platoon with Taylor I actually really like as well. It will be an interesting couple days. My only worry is the fact we have played week the last week - so I hope that isn’t a deterrent to acquiring a bat or two.
  17. Freddy threw well in Nashville tonight that was great to see! That’s prob our best deadline deal acquisition we can make!
  18. Maybe there’s something to that toe tap thing - whatever it is if he can get on base at a 4-425 clip and go the other way I don’t mind him being our igniter in the top spot. It’s no MVP years Yelich but pretty darn valuable!
  19. Boy am I glad they found out that feeling issue for Woody. Holy cow he’s looking good.
  20. Gott had a good run but since has been figured out. Davis plays a heck of a CF.
  21. Small doesn’t have much going for him does he? I’m disappointed with all the hype he had. Ashby at least we can see the shell of what he will be. Maybe it was Brewer goggles that I saw him in… (I thought Ashby and Small were touted similarly in makeup? Maybe I was mistaken)
  22. Renfrooooeeeee - when he’s right, he’s right. Big boy power.
  23. I'd love Soto. But has been stated numerous times, we are probably not JUST Soto away from being a serious threat in October. Therefore tread lightly. Unless, it becomes an Arenado to St. Louis situation where ... it's basically highway robbery. (If I recall he was supposed to get more so towards what WASH is asking on package size/what COL wanted?). Then, in that case, we better be in it....
  24. We need this all star break as much or more than the team. Silver lining we will be in 1st solo - no matter the outcome today. I feel with all that’s been going on - both injuries and self inflicted ones , that is a minor miracle.
