If they bring him up 24 August I would be elated! And if they start him 9th ala ATL with Michael Harris, I feel he can have a similar impact on the team!

If we played the Reds and Pirates the way we have played the Dodgers this week.... I feel the mood here may be completely different..... I'll give credit where it is due - Cutch is having himself a game. -
too soon. lol. I can't get that Marcum game 6 out of my head - that first inning alone was .... ugh.

Frelick would lengthen that lineup. Taylor would be a nice bat off the bench to be honest. He actually seems to be a decent PH if I recall correctly from last year as well. Think of Yelich and Frelick on base with their speed... it would be hard to not score any runs even with how this offense has been. Well hard(er) anyhow... hey I can dream!

You aren't wrong. Color me shocked somebody finally asked the question we have all been wondering. I almost fell out of my chair... wow. I am not a huge supporter of Keston by any stretch of the imagination, but the eye test (and numbers) back up what happened last night. I do not want to see Frelick or any of these guys come up and common sense goes out the window. That's all I am saying. Craig does, and has, always loved the veterans even if they dont "deserve" to keep playing over X Y or Z. That, I believe, is where a lot of the frustration lies, and concern is. Seeing teams (ATL as a prime example) bring up guys from AA, actually quite often - and seeing the spark they bring, makes me wonder why we don't follow the same path. Service time or not. If you want to win sometimes you need to GO FOR IT. If that costs you some time of a prospect, I suppose to me that is worth making the playoffs vs. missing them. (all said that is absolutely not a given - but a spark can be the catalyst).

It's true... he needs to PLAY and not be PH for every opportunity Craig has to make a decision. Case and point (no matter how you feel about Keston) was Huria last night. Actually against RH's and he had the first hit against Gosilin and went the other way vs Kimbrel. He had maybe the best approach of any hitter last night. These young guys that will be coming up (super excited for the wave coming) can not be treated as Craig has treated Huira this year - if that's how he will be with "matchups" and whatever analytics he is using, we might as well get a new manager, because the next wave will end up tanking because of misuse.

If that’s the case he better be called up 8/24 then. This ship is sinking fast and it needs a shot in the arm. Would love to see Frelick and Ruiz both and see what happens.

That double play was what I expect of Wong. Fun to see. i do think we would be better off with Frelick in CF … would deliver a spark like Michael Harris has with the Braves (and he came from AA)

I despise the Cardinals. I despise we didn’t get a bat or three. I despise our manager leaves guys out past their expiration dates when they clearly don’t have it. sigh.

Pleasantly surprised to see a tie let’s go steal one. For me Small was always a little suspect and I thought he would play better in a bullpen role. Frelick I think is the real deal. Ruiz I think could give us a spark with the adjustments he made this year. Some team speed would be really nice to have in all these low scoring close games. Just my 2 cents!

He’s absolutely not as good out there in general as I thought he was going to be (as it seemed he was even in Miami).

Sad that one run will probably do it. Ruiz or Frelick get to that ball - I think we need to bring up some spark or something to this lifeless team. It’s embarrassing.

A much needed win with how well Woody did pitch overall. phew . Off the ledge for one more day! Haha

I will say Woody pitched well minus 2 bad pitches. Sadly that may be enough to sink us.

CC has turned into a mental midget this year. It’s hard to watch. Huira could hit 3 homers and get pulled 4th at bat. fully expect to see Suter and him serve a half dozen runs at this pint. Smh.

You can prevent as many runs as you want but if you can’t score , you won’t win. I wish we had gotten a bat that could have made some difference at the deadline. It’s been stated several times - Adames seems to be trying too hard to hit homers. Can’t have a 2 hitter that over swings consistently.

Keston vs a Lefty again. I’m sorry but it’s absolutely confusing to me how for a team that’s deep in matchups and analytics - they continue to whiff on the most obvious split of the year that even the most casual fan can ask ‘what?’. None the less - let’s go boys. Need a win here, and need the pen to have another nice game to continue the ship righting process.
