    4-3, just like game 3 last year. I can't help but to think tonight will go like 7-1 and we are headed back to Milwaukee Friday night and Padres with all the momentum. Hopefully Gasser can give us 4-5 shutout innings tonight.

    I don't think so, but sometimes they do seem to still call it by blowing the whistle.

    At least it's a little momentum going into the game I am attending next week. The Cooper injury sort of ruins this win a bit though. We really couldn't afford another big injury.

    It was his post half interview when I knew we were done. Seemed shaky, said something like "it's the same old stuff" which wasn't a good look.

    Seems like Logan has been after Miz, maybe with Wheeler going they are targeting tomorrow for a win if they still need it to clinch against Braves. They also may be planning short start for Henderson like they did with Miz and don't want to chew up the bullpen tonight.

    Well, at least he is showing us why they picked up the 5th year option which was a bit of a surprise. I agree, sick of drafting athletes that are projects. We haven't played a good QB yet but LVN, Cooper, Cisse and maybe a couple of other guys give me hope that when Parsons gets back we may actually have something on that side of the ball. Been fooled before though, every year.

    Yeah, it's bad mojo to root for the team that we really need to stay ahead of with just 11 games left. I do not want to go into final weekend up just 3 on the Braves. Division is over, let's clinch it with our own win.

    At the moment of the made FG I felt pretty good about the 8 points holding up, even if it meant we needed one more FG. But I should of known better...🙂

    Just for the record, I almost always disagree with going for it on 4th and short at like the 20 if the 3 points are meaningful, it's just not the same as goal line and I think coaches treat it the same too often. I was angry when he made the call before the failure and I was mad when it appeared he might do it in first half. It wasn't revisionist and feel free to call me out if you ever see me complaining about not being aggressive in a similar situation.

    Considering the state of our oline and no proven short yardage RB I don't see much difference between 4th and 6 and 4th and 1. Either way even if you convert you may end up kicking the FG 4 downs later. It was not a good decision and I agree it turned the game. We got reffed the next drive to be sure but it was an all hands on deck meltdown in the second half, I am getting used to it.

    Packers o/u is 9.5 wins, about the same as Cubs HR's tonight. I would take the over but not by much. I really like our WR group and expect to score a lot of points, just wish I felt as optimistic about the defense. 10-7 with a late season rally sneaking them into playoffs. It's the least optimistic I have felt in a while, maybe that means they will surprise me.

    Jacobs cannot play or practice while on that list but would still be paid. I think the Packers would cut him in that scenario before paying him not to play.

    This game sort of snuck up on me, I still have the old mindset that preseason games are always on Saturday. It's good to hear starters will play some, MLF is a slow learner but he has figured out sitting everyone all preseason adds up to an ugly week 1. Very interested to see Lloyd and Cisse who have both looked good from reports. I am just catching up on camp news but sounds like Monk is pushing Belton at RG, hopefully that is because Monk has stepped up and not because Belton coasting. We could sure use the OL depth.

    I think I had said I was OK with either Pena or Henderson at the top of the package as long as the other pieces were further down the prospect list. So there is one, I still think one of those 2 was worth it but not both.

    I am going to be kind of upset if the Cubs come out of this deadline with a lot of help while we do nothing.

    This board has been pretty adamant that Henderson was too much but if this is true, Pena + Hardin + another pitcher let's say either Gasser or Letson. Still too much but I think I could live with it.

    Thinking about it more it probably would have taken Pena and Henderson to top it, or at least Henderson and Josh A. Henderson is in our rotation with I think 5 more years of control, Ryan not in LA rotation or needed with 4 more years. Maybe a similar deal but just a lot steeper price for the Brewers unfortunately. Happy to keep our guys, just don't pull a Schoop type deal after losing out this time.

    Pena and Henrderson would easily beat that deal but they could have topped it with just Pena and a couple of guys in the Brewers #10-20 range. It seems like a weak deal for the Tigers to me, really hinges on Ryan panning out. Oh well, we all knew this was how it would end.

    40 homers in about 1000 career AB and only 26. Seems worth the flyer to me. Plus, it occurs to me that sending a big prospect package out for Skubal hurts less if they plan on cashing in William in the offseason. This gives them more to work with next season in that scenario.
