For me it's a big NO on Sheffield , numbers are very good. Not great. But thing for me is how he played his way out of Milwaukee. That's just not a hall of famer. For me it's also a no on Bonds . The whole steroid thing and the fact he had some much body armor on there was no place you could pitch to him.
Is cc the best manager ? Maybe . He had a pretty bad final three weeks and a terrible playoff . I still think he is one of the best managers the game today. I wonder if the rule changes concerning relief pitchers having too pitch to three batters affected the way he managed and whether he will adjust to the new rules better. Probably the wrong thread , but oh well !
Looking at some of these trade options , my question is are we trading to get better and to win a WS? If that's the case I'm certainly not trading anybody to a NL contender. Keep all our pitchers and spend some cash on a free agent or two . Preferably on guys with career ave over .275 and can give professional at bat
Would like to just say haha to MLB for trying to force the Yankee , red Sox rivalry down our throats and making them the only scheduled game tonight , only to have it cancelled. Haha
Forgot about game , glad I did . Yikes , we struck out 17 times. Cincy is a scary team , lineup can hit. If they get consistent pitching ,we can be looking at the NL central champs. Then again it is our pitiful lineup they went against.
Hauser pitching scared tonight, must be demoralizing to know that if you give up a few runs that your getting a loss. Reds don't seem to miss pitches down the middle.
I don't know, Vogelbach doesn't seem that bad, maybe not a full time 1b , atleast he makes a pitcher work , seems to have decent eye. Not a starter but a good guy off the bench.
Counsell is absolutely a good manager , had some decisions backfire so far this season , but there is not any manager that would look good with this offense. One thing that does kinda worry me Is the rule change for relievers. He won't be able to manipulate the staff like he did in the past. All will be mute if we don't start to hit.
So maybe Haines is the problem , but tell me why he would come in and change Yelich and other players with proven success at the plate , why would the players listen to him? Why would the brewer brass let him do that? Isn't a hitting coach more for the younger player who hasn't had as much success and could use the coaching. If Haines is at fault , then I blame the gm and coach .
Just not seeing it in Urias, I get it . Very limited playing time. But what I have seen doesn't do it for me. Admittedly I didn't do a big dive into his numbers but his bat looks weak , hopefully I'm wrong and his bat comes alive. I don't need power , just a guy who can get on base.
Used to never like the idea of the dh until we had a few pitchers get hurt batting or running the base paths, so hopefully the dh is full time deal. I love the idea of Braun back in Milwaukee as a dh.
