  1. He hit .310 in big league games this spring (9-29) as an 18-year-old. I think he’ll be okay.
  2. CF Braylon Payne exited the second game of today’s doubleheader with a calf cramp. He should be back in the lineup tomorrow.
  3. According to the man himself, just a cramp in his calf. Everyone can take a deep breath!
  4. Just posted this in the Minor League Pre-Season Games thread as well, but RHP Diustin Mayorquin, LHP Joan Pena, RHP Bryan Regalado, and RHP Johandry Ramirez all arrived stateside yesterday ahead of the Arizona Complex League season.
  5. In addition to these four and Isais Chavez, the latest batch of players from the ‘25 international class arrived stateside yesterday. RHP Diustin Mayorquin, LHP Joan Pena, and RHP Bryan Regalado are now in Arizona to prepare for the ‘26 ACL season.
  6. Hamstring strain looking to join A+ Wisconsin by the end of April
  7. I very, very rarely post anything about my personal opinions, but I had to add to this conversation that I find Damon Keith a fascinating player to watch this season. Big power, plus arm, good exit velos and bat speed. I would not be surprised at all if he’s one of the guys that Milwaukee is able to take to the next level.
  8. Three more live rehab outings for Wagoner and he will be ready for an assignment, likely A+ Wisconsin.
  9. Kevin Garcia is working through a minor injury and expects to be with the Warbirds by the end of April. I’m currently trying to find out what’s going on with Morrison as that was a concerning omission from Opening Day rosters.
  10. Following up on this, Rudy experienced a setback (unsure of the specifics) in his rehab - Wagoner did not, he should be nearly ready to go.
  11. Not a great start for the Warbirds clubhouse staff…
  12. Here’s my update on Corniel from mid-February: “RHP Daniel Corniel only appeared in one game for the Timber Rattlers in 2025 due to injury. He underwent Tommy John surgery and is expecting to return to game action in early June.” Tobias was dealing with a flexor strain and ulnar nerve inflammation. He was expecting to be cleared in April, but had a small flare up and is now hoping for sometime in May. As for Timmerman, he underwent ulnar nerve surgery last September and has a couple of months still to build up with the hope being a mid-season return to games, likely June or July.
  13. Happy to report it is NOT believed to be anything too serious. Dubanewicz hopes to be ready close to the start of the season!
  14. I’m sad to share that Flores underwent Tommy John surgery on March 12 and will be out for the entire 2026 season. The right-hander will hope to return sometime late in the first half of ‘27.
  15. Can never hurt to ask! Rudy, Wagoner, Cortez, and Prado are all expected to be ready for the start of the 2026 season. I’ll try to see what I can find out about the statuses of Bukauskas, Pannone, and Smith!
  16. LHP Joey Broughton was originally scheduled to return to games in mid-August last year, but his rehab ended up progressing just a little slower than anticipated which did not allow him to make his pro debut by the end of the season. After a healthy offseason, the southpaw expects to be ready for the start of the 2026 season and should join the Warbirds rotation at Single-A.
  17. RHP Cole Phillips, MiLB Rule 5 pick from the Mariners, is progressing well from his most recent procedure (July 2025 flexor tendon surgery) and building up in his rehab program. The 2022 2nd rounder is targeting April for his return to the mound and the All-Star break, maybe a little before, for his first game action which will be his professional debut.
  18. RHP Quinton Low is also fully healthy entering 2026 after back-to-back seasons wiped out with injuries. Unfortunately, from a pure entertainment perspective, his days as a two-way player are over which is not too surprising all things considered. Low has, in rehab, and will continue to focus solely on pitching going forward and, given injury history as well as some control concerns, is likely to work as a reliever, at least for the time being.
  19. RHP Jason Woodward, coming back from his 2nd Tommy John surgery, is set for a normal spring and expecting to be ready for MiLB Opening Day. The goal for him is the rotation, but there is a strong chance he moves to the bullpen with his injury history. It’s likely that he will start out with the Timber Rattlers in 2026.
  20. RHP Daniel Corniel only appeared in one game for the Timber Rattlers in 2025 due to injury. He underwent Tommy John surgery and is expecting to return to game action in early June.
  21. Outfielder Gerlyn Payano, a top international signing from a year ago, missed the majority of the 2025 season with a hamate injury. The 18-year-old will get his first extended professional experience in 2026 although it remains to be seen if that will be in the DSL or ACL.
  22. Honestly, most, if not all, players deal with nagging injuries and soreness throughout the year. If it’s something that they are able to play through, usually you don’t really hear too much about it. I have shared how Juan Ortuño was dealing with shoulder inflammation the entire season, even when he was “healthy” and playing in games. A few other names that come to mind that were playing through some minor issues that might have affected their performances were Braylon Payne, Carlos Rodriguez, and Filippo Di Turi. There’s also guys like Quero, Boeve, Hayden Robinson, etc that were just not completely 100% recovered from major procedures/injuries that I expect to bounce back to previous levels in 2026.
  23. “RHP Yorman Galindez required another elbow procedure and will not pitch this season. Arizona Fall League is a possibility for the right-hander” Following up on my previous update from mid-July: I confirmed today that Galindez is 100% and on track for a normal spring training/season in 2026. He’s one of the many intriguing arms that missed the ‘25 season who will be fascinating to follow this year.
  24. Episcope has begun a throwing program and is expecting to get off of a mound for the first time since surgery during the first week of March. At this point, the timeline is still very flexible, but that would likely put him on track to make his pro debut mid-season, sometime in the first half depending on how optimistic one wishes to be.
  25. During the season, the activity at the Maryvale complex is a mix of the actual ACL team and a sizable rehab group of up to 20 players or more. Many players do rehab together (for example pitchers that are recovering from Tommy John), but, of course, these individuals are often at different points in their recovery process. There are times, mainly during the offseason, when players complete parts of their rehab (or spend some of the recovery period after surgery) at home & in facilities close to where they live, but, the vast majority of the time, the injuries that require lengthy rehab processes are handled at the complex in Arizona. The same is true for players at the Dominican academy, but it’s a much smaller group of rehabbing players typically.
