12 swinging strikes in 90 pitches thrown, with one hard hit ball in the air and two walks yesterday was a good day.
With the way he struggled in his first 6 games in AAA this year, I was surprised when we selected his contract for an MLB debut just 6 weeks later, but maybe we felt he’d benefit from the exposure.
He was hit very hard in those 3 MLB starts, so I’d imagine he’ll need a looonnngggg look against top competition next Spring Training. He’ll still just be 23 then, but we’ll have to burn his 2nd option year in 2025 if he’s simply not ready.
