25-year old OF/INF Noah Campbell signed with the Brewers out of the University of South Carolina in July 2020 as a non-drafted player (after we’d selected him in the 2017 draft but he didn’t sign). Campbell impressed with his bat and versatility at Low-A Carolina in 2021 (.775 OPS in 412 PAs; played all 9 positions in one game), leapfrogged to AA Biloxi in 2022 and produced solid numbers there (.792 OPS in 630 PAs over parts of 3 seasons) and struggled a bit in his initial AAA exposure (.623 OPS in 228 PAs). He had 18 HRs and 35 SBs over 4 seasons, as left field steadily became his primary position. If he seeks it, Noah should hopefully be able land another AAA job and prove his hitting chops at that level.
29-year old RHP James Meeker graduated from the University of Delaware in 2018, but didn’t sign with an MLB club until August 2021 after 3 seasons of independent ball, at one point compiling an amazing 57.1 inning scoreless streak (including his first 15.2 IP with Low-A Carolina). The 6’4” Meeker dominated at High-A Wisconsin (2.45 ERA) and at Brisbane Australia (21 scoreless innings) in 2022 before impressing at AA Biloxi in 2023 (2.33 ERA as a reliever; struggled in 8 starts). 2024 was yet another respectable year (apart from 3 blow-up outings adjusting to AAA ball), with highlights including an MLB call-up (one scoreless inning) and ending the season with an 0.86 ERA over his last 21 innings. Good luck James!
25-year old LHP Adam Seminaris joined the Brewers in November 2022 via the Hunter Renfroe trade. Injuries limited him to only 53.2 AA innings in 2023 (5.70 ERA, 1.51 WHIP, 9.6 K/9) before getting some Arizona Fall League experience (5.87 ERA in 15.1 IP). The 2024 season saw Adam shift to principally bullpen work, which appeared to go quite well: 2.95 ERA with 45 Ks in 42.2 relief innings, but the spot starts and late season starts went poorly (9.84 ERA in 32 starting IP). Originally a 5th round pick of the Angels in 2020, we wish Adam success wherever his path takes him.
25-year old 3B/1B Ben Metzinger was a 7th round pick of the Brewers out of the University of Louisville in 2022. Quickly sent to High-A Wisconsin, he posted a .653 OPS in 492 PAs at that level over parts of 3 seasons, with 8 home runs and 2 stolen bases. Metzinger was essentially an organizational rover and bullpen catcher in 2024, garnering just 22 PAs (5 walks, no hits). Good luck to Ben in his next career step.
24-year old RHP Tyler Wehrle signed in July 2022 as a non-drafted player out of Tiffin University (Ohio). Wehrle carved out a multi-inning relief role at Low-A Carolina (2023) and High-A Wisconsin (2024), producing career numbers of 4.13 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, 8.0 K/9 in 143.2 IP. Wehrle ended his 2024 season with a 5-inning shutout start at Cedar Rapids in early September. Best of luck to you in the future, Tyler!
22-year old RHP Harrison Durow signed in July 2023 as a non-drafted player out of Trinity University (Texas). Durow produced respectable results in relief work at Low-A Carolina in 2024: 4.97 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, 9.0 K/9 in 58 IP with 6 saves. He even got a late season promotion to High-A Wisconsin (1 game – 2 scoreless innings with 3 Ks). Good luck Harrison!
24-year old RHP Morris Austin was a 10th round pick of the Brewers out of Houston Christian University in 2023. Austin proved to be a relatively reliable multi-inning bullpen arm for Low-A Carolina in 2024: 4.26 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, 10.2 K/9. He also pitched one game in the playoffs (on the wrong side of 4 consecutive errors in a frustrating loss). We wish the best to Morris in his next career endeavor.
