    Who better to end AA Biloxi’s 9-game losing streak than 22-year old RHP Jacob Misiorowski (2.55 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, 12.0 K/9 in 35.1 IP)? Le Mis needs a bounceback game after giving up an uncharacteristic 8 hits in last week’s outing.

    RHP Will Rudy (6.00 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, 7.1 K/9 in 33 IP) has had up-and-down results thus far, but looks to help High-A Wisconsin grow its 1.5-game Midwest League West division first half lead. They’re also up 2 games to 0 this week, hosting Fort Wayne, with back-to-back walk-off wins (SS Gregory Barrios Tuesday, DH Ramon Rodriguez last night).

    Low-A Carolina is up 2-0 in this week’s home series against Delmarva, which also puts them 1 game atop the Carolina League North first half standings. 6’4” RHP Bishop Letson (3.66 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 13.3 K/9 in 19.2 IP) makes his 7th appearance (6th start).. Yesterday’s grand slam hero DH Luis Castillo bats cleanup.

    24-year old RHP Shane Smith makes his 3rd straight start (8 IP, 4 R, 9 Ks in prior 2), this time on 6 days’ rest, as AA Biloxi is seriously considering breaking its 7-game losing streak, facing Pensacola at home. The offense is 6th of 8 teams in runs per game, 1st in walks, last in stolen bases (c’mon EBJ, CD-Rod and Murray).

    19-year old RHP Daniel Corniel (3.21 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 8.8 K/9 in 33.2 IP) and Low-A Carolina look to follow Wisconsin’s lead and go up 2-0 in their home series against Delmarva. SS Cooper Pratt has a 9-game hit streak and INF Daniel Guilarte is not in the lineup after exiting yesterday’s game early.

    The High-A Timber Rattlers can jump out to a 2-0 home series lead with a win over Fort Wayne. 23-year old LHP Tate Keuhner has a 12-inning scoreless streak. RF Eduarqui Fernandez needs to break his 0-for-20 funk.

    Thank you Joseph. I’ll forever be curious how much Walling signed for in August 2022. I think he’d have been drafted if teams actually thought he’d sign. And I think the signing bonus rules are looser for undrafted high schoolers.

    Not many positives in the box score of the ACL Brewers 8-1 defeat to ACL Rangers. But 18-year old RHP Bryan Rivera (1 R, 3 Ks) was solid over 4 innings of middle relief and 1B Luis Lameda reached base 3 times (single, walk, HBP). Oddly, Eric Martinez sat for the 2nd straight game. With the Brewers also attempting Zero stolen bases for the 2nd straight game, you have to wonder whether they had Zero bench position players available. More likely they’re still at 10 total position players - with Martinez essentially a substitute-only-in-emergency player the past 2 days.

    No earned runs were scored in the Sounds-Redbirds game, but the Redbirds had 10 of the 13 hard hit balls. No Sounds offense without Hicklen. Solid 6 shutout innings by Taylor Clarke and Evan McKendry.

    Nervy win for the Mudcats. They were up 6-5, facing the bases loaded with 1 out, but Bayden Root got the 6-4-3 GIDP to end it. Did Daniel Guilarte injure himself trying to steal 3rd base to end the 8th inning? Or did he get pulled for stealing when he shouldn’t?

    Nashville is in Memphis this week to take on the Cardinals’ affiliate. RHP Taylor Clarke is today’s starter (expect ~30 pitches with possibly LHP Nick Bennett as long-man) and RF Joey Wiemer sees his first AAA action since being optioned by the Brewers.

    High-A Wisconsin welcomes Padres’ affiliate Fort Wayne this week, with 21-year old RHP Patricio Aquino (4.99 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, 5.3 K/9 in 30.2 IP) toeing the rubber tonight. 2B Jadher Areinamo had 3 hits and 4 RBIs Sunday to push his hit streak to 8 games.

    AA Biloxi won’t get swept at home for a 2nd straight week. They host Marlins’ affiliate Pensacola this week, with LHP Nate Peterson (4.14 ERA, 1.49 WHIP, 9.5 K/9 in 37 IP) starting tonight. DH Brock Wilken has a 7-game hitting streak.

    The Mudcats host Orioles’ low-A affiliate Delmarva this week, with 18-year old RHP Manuel Rodriguez (4.04 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, 8.3 K/9 in 35.2 IP) making his 8th start. CF Yophery Rodriguez is in right back in the lineup after exiting Sunday’s game early.
