    Thank you for highlighting a pioneer that I'd sadly never heard of. I'm sure this 1971 incident (Carty, Eye Damaged, Charges 3 Policemen Blackjacked Him) contributed to some down years, but he hit the cover off the ball from 1975-1978.

    Andruw Monasterio - outfielder? “At the end of the Major League season, the Brewers recommended that I play winter ball in Venezuela. As homework, I have to work on my defense, my batting, and my running around the bases. In addition to that, they suggested that I move into the outfield. The more positions I can play reliably, the more important my presence will be in any club. Milwaukee wants me to be a good utility player, and playing in the outfield this season with Caribes gives me that opportunity,” said Monasterio, who has good reasons to play in Venezuela.

    Signed OF Bladimir Restituyo and assigned to AAA Nashville The 23-year old Restituyo was in the Rockies system for 7 years before electing free agency. He spent 2023-24 at AA Hartford, clubbing a surprising 15 homers in 2023 (with an 8 BB / 86 K ratio and .691 OPS), then probably dialed back the all-or-nothing approach in 2024: 5 HRs, 25 BB, 73 Ks - .663 OPS. He averaged 21 SBs in 28.5 attempts while mainly playing CF.

    I'm mostly curious whether we push some players, e.g.: KC Hunt, Justin Yeager and Sam Gardner to AAA Cooper Pratt to AA Josh Adamczewski and Marco Dinges to High-A Jose Anderson, Luis Pena and Wande Torres to Low-A We've also still got Tyler Woessner, Tanner Shears, Chase Costello, Daniel Corniel, Anthony Flores (SP - not to be confused with Jesus Flores (RP)), Bryan Rivera (SP - not to be confused with Jesus Rivero (RP)), Ramon Rodriguez, David Garcia and a few others. Hopefully Shears and Woessner will get back to their pre-injury and pre-decline form, respectively. And then I'm assuming some other key prospects won't yet be back from injury: Jimenez, Galindez, Low, Robinson, Cortez, Woodward.

    I’m surprised we didn’t protect 24-year old RHP Shane Smith. Throws up to 96 mph and made it to AAA level after just 150.1 career IP. Really effective when shifted to a starting role in AA in 2024: 2.96 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 9.9 K/9, 3.36 K/BB ratio in 67.0 starting IP.

    Hey, Peoria went all-in, starting 4 Brewers’ position players, including C Ramon Rodriguez in his AFL debut. Of course, this resulted in a blowout 10-3 victory.
