  1. Some of the speculation above was spot-on - e.g. Nick Stanley moves up a level to High-A and recent addition Eddy Morgan (12 years at Concordia University) will lead the Wilson Warbirds - but I don’t think any bingo card had Mike Guerrero returning to AA Biloxi, with Joe Ayrault becoming Field Coordinator:
  2. We’ve added speedy corner outfielder Jacob Hurtubise:
  3. After mistakenly thinking we had Eugenio Suarez-level money ($15m) last offseason (for a trade) only to realize we could only sign Jose Quintana ($4m), I refuse to get my hopes up. I’m expecting a minor league deal with the likes of Joe Ross, Kolby Allard, Mike Clevinger or Joey Lucchesi.
  4. We also have Greg Jones, Eddys Leonard, Freddy Zamora and Ethan Murray to account for. Of the 2003-2004 birthday men being considered for AAA (Burke, Pratt, Adams, Lara), I assume Pratt (120 career AA games, potential first AAA game at age 21.62 years) is the most likely to be rostered there, following the Turang career path (73 career AA games, first AAA game at age 20.70 years). I agree that the Burke vs. Adams placement decision looms large, but maybe we'll give Adams some more opportunities at third base to retain the flexibility to keep them both in AA to start the season.
  5. Rob Zastryzny has previously been mentioned for Canada:
  6. Beating the Cubs again, this time with a young international signing, caught by @Spencer Michaelis
  7. Abdiel Mendoza has signed a minor league deal with the Mariners.
  8. C Francisco de Marchena Mir is now listed as having signed on January 15th.
  9. If you're on the MLB 40-man roster and injured for most of a season, you'll usuàlly get an extra option year.
  10. If we lost Nashville as a AAA affiliate, then Richmond, VA (solid attendance, new stadium seats 10,000) or Grand Rapids, MI (solid attendance, stadium seats 10,923) might be options, I guess.
  11. Some catching options: - Jhonny Pereda - in DFA limbo - Riley Adams - in DFA limbo - Alex Jackson - surplus after Caratini signing
  12. Former Brewers’ Rule Five experiment Gus Varland (2023 season - returned to Dodgers that May and added to LAD’s 40-man that August) also stays on an MLB 40-man roster:
  13. 31-year old Weston Wilson (Brewers’ system 2016-2022) remains on a 40-man MLB roster:
  14. “Translated from Spanish ¡HE'S ARRIVED IN MARACAIBO! Jackson Chourio is already with the team, and he's present at the nest to support his teammates. They would be awaiting authorization from his MLB team so he can suit up again with the rapaces.”
  15. As expected, stud outfielder Jackson Chourio will represent Venezuela:
  16. Jackson Chourio is not in Aguilas’ starting lineup tonight, so if he’s returning to action in Venezuela it’d apparently be for Aguilas’ final 3 games of the Round Robin (Thursday, Friday and Sunday). His team is presently tied for third place at 6-6. The top 2 teams will qualify for the championship series.
  17. Stiven Cruz gives us a 3rd Brewer on Team Nicaragua:
  18. Jeez, I didn't realize that Eduardo Garcia had gotten injured in Venezuela (stemming from an HBP on January 11) - which Google Translate converted to "The rest of the time was lost due to a fracture that did not displace the distal tertiary of the cuboid, which suffered in the dominant game, against Caribes de Anzoátegui." A different tweet says "Suffered a non-displaced fracture in the ulna. He will miss the rest of the season"
  19. In a re-play of Saturday's road victory which was subsequently (and some would say controversially) annulled, Steward Berroa and his Aguilas teammates dropped a close one 8-7 in ten innings, walking home the winning run on 4 pitches. As such, Toros advances to the championship series against Escogido, while Aguilas are sent home after finishing the Round Robin in 3rd place. Berroa went 1-for-4 with a walk, stolen base and run scored, manning right field.
  20. RHP Carlos Rodriguez will also play for Nicaragua:
  21. 2-minute interview with Steward Berroa:
  22. Aguilas trailed Toros 2-0, 9 outs from being eliminated from the championship race, but stormed back for a 6-2 victory to tie them in the standings with 1 Round Robin game remaining today. Steward Berroa walked twice, had a sacrifice bunt and scored a run, playing right field.
  23. Thanks for this. It's kind of fun to make these projections. If I may, I'd consider adding: P: Drew Rom, Thomas Pannone, Garrett Stallings, Sammy Peralta, Gerson Garabito, Will Childers, Will Rudy, Russell Smith, Cam Wagoner, Yorman Galindez, Edwin Jimenez, Jose Nova, Enniel Cortez, Bryan Rivera, Eric Prado, Daurys Mora C: Ramon Rodriguez, David Garcia, Andrick Nava INF: Mike Boeve, Tayden Hall, Daniel Guilarte OF: Kay-Lan Nicasia, Luiyin Alastre For me, these kinds of additions push Wichrowski and Wood back down to AA, Dinges (gotta work on defense, I assume) and Baez to High-A, and Di Turi to Low-A, but I'm more bullish on Adamczewski possibly getting the aggressive push to the AA outfield (we'll see). Other minor things: I assume that 2-way player Quinton Low (last played in 2023) will just focus on pitching Broca got to toss 10.2 innings in AA last year, so I assume that's where he'll commence in 2026 Jack Hostetler's injury recovery timeline won't likely have him ready to start the season
