  1. AA Biloxi are down 4-1 in this week’s series at Rocket City, but lead the 8-team Southern League by 1 game over Montgomery. RHP Coleman Crow (3.46 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 9.7 K/9 in 26 IP) makes his 8th start - will he top 70 pitches this time out? 1B/3B Luke Adams is out of the lineup after being a late scratch yesterday.
  2. Wisconsin can polish off a 5-1 series home victory today over Peoria behind LHP Anthony Flores, who’s throwing for the 2nd time this week (4 IP, 1 R, 1 K in 57 pitches on Tuesday). LF Yhoswar Garcia is figuring out High-A ball: .805 OPS in last 81 PAs with 10 BB, 11 Ks and 17 SBs.
  3. The AAA Sounds have dropped 3 straight in Indianapolis, but have RHP Logan Henderson (2.12 ERA with 69 Ks in 51 MLB/AAA IP) on the mound to turn the tide. DH Eddie Rosario is 10-for-23 in his last 6 games.
  4. The Low-A Mudcats aim to finish off a 4-1 home series win over Salem behind RHP Chandler Welch (5 IP, 1 R, 5 Ks in 92 pitches last week). RF Jose Anderson needs to get back on track (1 for last 24 with 3 BB and 10 Ks).
  5. Isn’t he getting a minimum of $17.5m to throw one season? - $2.5m last year, $5.0m this year, $10.0m this winter (buyout).
  6. Tough stretch for Cooper Pratt: 2 for his last 30 (both singles), 2 BB, 2 HBP, 8 Ks, 1 RBI, 0 SB, 1 CS. Biloxi’s lead over Montgomery is down to 1 game. Biloxi and Rocker City both had 5 hits in Saturday’s 2-1 contest, though that’s kind of normal for the pitcher-friendly Southern League. Pratt hit 3 ground balls and K’d in an 0-for-4 day. Similar for Brock Wilken: 2 for last 31, including an 0-for-4 day with 3 Ks in this one.
  7. Do we think this is Zach Peek’s final season under his Minor League contract? He was drafted in June 2019, but didn’t debut until 2021. We picked him up in the Minor League phase of the Rule 5 draft. He seems to be feeling good again, after being limited by injuries from July 2022 onward. Last 9 games: 13 IP, 2 R (1 ER), 6 H, 3 BB, 1 HBP, 19 Ks).
  8. RHP KC Hunt (5 IP, 1 R, 8 Ks last week) can help AA Biloxi come back from a 3-1 series deficit at Rocket City tonight. The top offense in the Southern League (4.76 runs/game vs. league average 3.87; .720 OPS vs league average .658) needs to wake up.
  9. Wisconsin can clinch a home series win over Peoria behind RHP Jaron DeBerry tonight (3 IP, 3 R, 3 Ks last week in his first High-A appearance). CF Eduardo Garcia has a 1.035 OPS over his last 15 games (64 PAs), with 11 RBIs and 8 SBs.
  10. Unrelated: Wake Forest leads Miami Ohio 14-11 in an NCAA tourney elimination game, with Miami having the bases loaded, nobody out in the bottom of the 9th. Gotta imagine Wilken is tracking. And they held on 14-13, getting the final 2 outs with 2 men on base.
  11. 22-year old RHP Chandler Welch seeks to build off a solid start last week (5 IP, 1 R, 5 Ks in 92 pitches), as Low-A Carolina can clinch a home series victory over Salem tonight. He’s only hitting .214, but RF Tyler Rodriguez has easily the highest OBP (.436) in the lineup.
  12. RHP Jacob Misiorowski makes his 2nd start of the week in Indianapolis (4 IP, 1 ER, 8 Ks in 87 pitches on Tuesday), as AAA Nashville seeks to claw back from a 3-1 series deficit. 1B Bobby Dalbec has a 1.019 OPS and 11 RBIs over his last 10 games (44 PAs).
  13. - LHP Tyler Jay activated by AAA Nashville from Development List
  14. The AA Shuckers have dropped 3 straight games at Rocket City, so now turn to LHP Tate Kuehner (1 ER over last 18 1/3 IP) to turn the series around. DH Mike Boeve has a 13-game on-base streak, though we’re still waiting for him to play in the field.
  15. The Low-A Mudcats have our first game of the day, with 20-year old LHP Wande Torres (7.36 ERA, 1.64 WHIP, 8.2 K/9 in 22 IP) getting a chance to extend their 2-1 home series lead over Salem. DH Luis Pena (22) and SS Jesus Made (21) are 5th and 7th in the Carolina League in stolen bases.
  16. RHP Tanner Gillis (6 IP, 3 R, 4 Ks last outing) makes his 3rd High-A start as Wisconsin shoots for a 3-1 home series lead over Peoria. RF Kay-Lan Nicasia returns from injury for his first action in 45 days.
  17. After giving up 18 hits over his last 2 starts, it’s time for RHP Tobias Myers to re-discover his 2024 form. AAA Nashville trails their series in Indianapolis 2 games to 1. LF Eddie Rosario has reached base via walk or hit in all 9 games since joining the organization.
  18. I'm going to guess that's the last time we'll throw a young pitcher on both sides of a long rain delay:
  19. The DSL has a new playoff format, with 16 of 51 teams qualifying:
  20. - OF Kay-Lan Nicasia activated from High-A Wisconsin’s 7-day injured list
  21. Transactions: RHP Joel Payamps outrighted to AAA Nashville from MLB Brewers INF/OF Dylan O’Rae transferred to AA Biloxi’s 60-day injured list Game Action: Final: Indianapolis 7, Nashville 1 Box Score and Game Log Via the Sounds’ website, game details, and we encourage readers to review affiliate write-ups as part of their Link Report routine: Sounds Fall Behind in Series to Indians after 7-1 Loss on Wednesday. Losing the game and Anthony Seigler’s 16-game hitting streak may be minor compared to starting 23-year-old RHP Carlos F. Rodriguez’s early exit after struggling for 2 1/3 innings. Let’s pray it’s nothing serious: Nashville had gotten its leadoff hitter aboard in each of the first 4 innings, but failed to get the clutch hits to push runs across, falling behind 4-0. At least 2B Ray Delgado (2-for-4, RBI) and OF Eddie Rosario (2-for-4, double) had good days at the plate. Sounds’ Extras: RHP Garrett Stallings (1 2/3 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 3 Ks) was solid in relief of Rodriguez and RHP Easton McGee struck out the first 3 batters he faced (peak velocity 94mph), before McGee struggled in the 6th inning. LHP Bryan Hudson (1 2/3 IP, 1 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 Ks) was also effective (peak velocity 94.6mph), retiring 5 straight hitters and a bit unlucky that his last hitter (2-out single) scored after his exit. Friday’s outlook: RHP Tobias Myers (2.45 ERA, 1.25 WHIP in 18 1/3 IP) is the scheduled starter, with Nashville needing a road victory to even this week’s series at 2 game apiece. Biloxi Pre-Game Media Notes Game One Final: Rocket City 2, Biloxi 1 Box Score and Game Log Game Two Final: Rocket City 4, Biloxi 1 Box Score and Game Log Via the Shuckers’ website, game details: Wood Records First Double-A Homer, Shuckers Swept in Doubleheader After starting RHP Brett Wichrowski (4 1/3 IP, 0 R, 4 Ks) weathered an early storm (3 H, 2 BB, 1 HBP in first 2 scoreless frames), Biloxi’s suddenly struggling offense nearly pulled off a 1-0 opening game victory behind C Matt Wood’s first AA hit: An error on 3B Brock Wilken to start the 6th inning opened the door to Rocket City, who delivered an RBI single and nearly-caught double to snatch the lead and victory. The run conversion challenge continued in Game 2, as the Shuckers put the leadoff batter on base in the first 3 innings. LHP Nate Peterson (4 IP, 1 R, 3 Ks) kept the club in the game, but RHP Stiven Cruz only retired 2 of 7 batters faced, as a 1-0 deficit ballooned to 4-0 in the fifth inning. Shuckers’ Extras: As positives, OF Garrett Spain homered and had an outfield assist, C Darrien Miller doubled and caught a base stealer. OF Luis Lara also singled and stole his 19th consecutive base without being caught. RHP Tyler Bryant (1 1/3 IP, 0 R, 1 K) is now unscored upon in his last 10 2/3 innings. Friday’s outlook: LHP Tate Kuehner (2.93 ERA, 1.30 WHIP in 43 IP) will try to stem the bleeding as Biloxi finds itself in a 3-0 series deficit on the road. Wisconsin Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Peoria 10, Wisconsin 1 Box Score and Game Log Via the Timber Rattlers’ website, game details: Chiefs Put Out Wisconsin’s Fire with a 7-Run Surge Despite the defeat, the Wisconsin media team has put together an excellent package of video highlights from the game (which is also posted within the linked game report above): And we’re also thankful for the 18-minute Mehring/Lobner post-game podcast, featuring C Marco Dinges, Manager Victor Estevez and some players with comments on the upcoming NCAA baseball tournament. The linked game report is packed with game and player details, including how the drawn-in infield was a contributing factor (though understandable strategy) to Peoria’s 7-run sixth inning. Starting RHP Tyson Hardin (4 IP, 1 R, 5 H, 2 BB, 1 HBP, 5 Ks) and RHP Zach Peek (1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 2 Ks) were effective once again, while SS Jadher Areinamo (2-for-4, double) was his usual exceptional self defensively as I’m sure you’ve seen on the highlight video. Timber Rattlers’ Extras: RHP Yerlin Rodriguez needs to corral his control issues of the moment: 1 BB, 1 HBP, 3 WPs, 2 R, 1 H in one inning of work. 20-year old RHP Bishop Letson hasn’t pitched in a game since May 8th, but is listed as the expected starter for Saturday evening’s contest. Friday’s outlook: RHP Tanner Gillis (1.83 ERA, 1.27 WHIP in 39 1/3 IP with Carolina and Wisconsin this year) gets the start, with the Timber Rattlers aiming to grab a 3-1 home series advantage. Carolina Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Carolina 10, Salem 4 Box Score and Game Log Via the Mudcats’ website, game details: Big Inning Lifts Mudcats Past Red Sox DH Jesus Made (3-for-4, 3 RBIs, 3 SBs) was the spark plug, walking and stealing his 19th base in the 1st inning (stranded), then singling to start the 8-run rally in the 3rd frame. A rare difficult inning from 19-year old starting RHP Bryce Meccage (3 1/3 IP, 3 R, 2 Ks) saw 3 second inning runs come across on 3 hits and a walk, but the big Carolina 3rd inning set things straight. 2B Luis Lameda’s 2-out, bases clearing triple gave the Mudcats the lead at 5-3 before Made followed with this in-the-park homer a few batters later. The ‘pen of RHPs Dikember Sanchez, Jesus Flores and Garrett Hodges allowed only 1 run in 5 2/3 innings, with Flores (4 IP, 1 R, 5 H, 2 BB, 4 Ks) eating important innings to preserve arms. Mudcats’ Extras: SS Luis Pena had a boom-bust game, with a 2-run homer, single, stolen base and 3 Ks. OF Tyler Rodriguez keeps finding ways to get on base (.436 OBP, despite a .214 AVG and .250 SLG) - 3 walks in this game. After a 5-game hitting streak, 1B Eric Bitonti may want to forget this game: 0-for-5, 4 Ks. Friday’s outlook: 20-year old LHP Wande Torres (7.36 ERA, 1.64 WHIP in 22 IP) is the scheduled starter, with Carolina seeking to grab a 3-1 home series lead. Final: ACL Brewers 10, ACL Padres 1 Box Score and Game Log The Arizona Crew (15-5) blew this home contest open with a 6-run third inning punctuated by a DH Jeferson Quero 2-run double and OF Jadyn Fielder RBI triple, while the staff dominated with 14 strikeouts. 6’4” 18-year old RHP Tyler Renz got the start and tossed 4 scoreless innings without yielding a walk (3 H, 4 Ks – 60 pitches; 2.37 season ERA), followed by 5’9” 19-year old RHP Wenderlyn King’s second straight terrific outing of 2025: 4 1/3 IP, 1 R, 4 H, 0 BB, 9 Ks in 66 pitches; 2.45 season ERA. Quero had opened the scoring with a 1st inning solo homer on a 3-for-5, 3 RBI day for him. Every offensive player reached base via walk or hit as the team out-hit the Padres 11 to 7. 3B Jorge Quintana and 1B Frederi Montero (2 RBIs) each collected 2 singles, while 2B Roderick Flores reached base 3 times (1-for-1, 2 walks, sac fly). DH Tyler Black (1-for-3, walk) also continues to rehab with the squad. The victory pushes the ACL Brewers to a 3-game lead in the central division. They’re to return to at the ACL Rangers at 8:00pm CST on Friday. We hope that you enjoy the Minor League Link Report. On Friday, the Mudcats get a busy baseball evening started at 5:30pm CST, with the Milwaukee Brewers also commencing their series in Philadelphia at 5:45pm CST. 23. Hmmm. A leadoff walk (Luke Adams) in the 1st inning and leadoff double (Darrien Miller) in the 2nd inning have yielded no runs for Biloxi. Still trailing 1-0.
