  1. Anyone who think that calling up all the minor leaguers at once is an answer, I don’t want to know the question
  2. Lots of people do know how to measure it...or say they do and think they do. It makes sense to me to bat a high OBP and high SLG guy 2nd (Yelich). Once he is in place it makes sense to put the pitcher 8th. For as many times it is annoying that the pitcher bats 8th and ends the inning, the same number of times that will actually be beneficial since he won't be leading off the next inning, which gives a decent hitter the chance to get on base in front of Yelich. No stats nor history nor analytics. Just common sense. Like I said. I get the theory But very skeptical that history and analytics have proven this I would leave it as a thought out theory and not a proven better way to score runs
  3. Again, there's nothing wrong with the strategy. History and analytics have shown this. Counsell isn't just trying to be cute. I don’t even know how you measure this. I’m very skeptical of “history and analytics” regarding this. There are a billion moving parts. I understand the theory though Plus it makes you make a decision one batter early whether to keep him in or pinch hit Just bat your .094 hitter ninth and quit being cute
  4. Im probably the only guy who doesn't get too worked about a lineup. When you come up do your job But.... Stop with the pitcher 8th.
  5. Just think how mediocre that would look if you took out what he did against the Brewers. He needs another series with the Crew to recharge his batteries. Mediocre is one way to put it. Here is his current slash line: .246/.336/.405/.741 Take out his numbers against the Brewers and it's: .219/.310/.326/.636 He has 30% of his total bases against Milwaukee. crissakes. Didn't Wong destroy us too. I wonder what his numbers are without playing us
  6. miller park is still one of the best stadiums to watch a game in mlb And I’ve always liked bratwurst
  7. Eye black Change Derek Johnson to Davey Johnson then it’s all believable
  8. Who cares about the national league championship. I want to know who we beat in the World Series and if it will be in 4 or 5 games
  9. Sitting at 45-39 and tied for first place is all you can ask for a very uneven and somewhat disappointing first half performance wise. To be honest I thought the first half talking points were pretty boring. There was really no debate over guys like Shaw Aguilar, burnes, Nelson etc. everyone is on the same page Out of boredom I just decided to give one dudes opinions on the roster and if they will improve or regress the second. Leading to the most unscientific prediction of the second half for the brewers Grandal - around same performance Thames/Aguilar. Better or even Hiura. Definitely better than Shaw first half. How could it not. Arcia. Better Moose. Worse Yelich. Worse Cain. Better. (For god sakes, I hope] Braun/gamel. Slightly worse Davies. Worse Woodruff. Good performance that I think gets even better Chacin. Better?????? But huge question marks in that Chase. Ugh 5th pitcher. Who even knows Guerra, albers, houser. Probably, worse Burnes, peralta. Better be better Jeffress. Same Hader. Is a god. Just looking at that pitching staff I am slightly pessimistic on a playoff spot unless 85 wins gets you in. 40-38 or 41-37 second half is what I think is realistic
  10. Yep. That’s pretty much it That’s why personally I can’t tell if the brewers are a playoff team or not yet Last year I could tell the brewers were good. This year not so much. But I wouldn’t give up on them yet July will be a big month for them.
  11. The Brewers currently are one of the top 5 teams in the NL, if they finish the season in the same position maybe we can petition the league to let a team that looks more contender-y to take our postseason spot. Snide remarks aside. If the brewers continue down this path they won’t be. Other than that is blind optimism or typical I told you so message board BS The brewers won’t make the playoffs with a negative run differential. Period. The cubs outlook going forward is considerably better than the brewers. Trade deadlines change that though When the brewers made it through the first two months gauntlet in good shape I really liked their chances and then they went on to completely crap the bed this month against the dregs of baseball. With the cubs struggling they will probably rue the chance to build up a lead. July is a big month for them. They continue to play under .500 teams. If they screw around then I think it’s over The brewers are conundrum going forward. I could easily see moose, Yelich and Grandal not performing as well. Davies too. Thames could fall off a cliff like he’s done in the past But maybe hiura in for Shaw and Aguilar will help. Maybe chacin will get better. I wonder what people’s opinions on that will be. I bet it’s all over the board But I don’t think it’s out of line that people are pessimistic about the brewers chances at all. That being said the cubs have kept us in it. Because if we were in any other division we’d be 8-9-10 games back already. But we still got a chance. The brewers need to get their act together. It isn’t all candy canes and unicorns at Miller park
  12. Thank god for the pirates or we might not ever win another series. Can we play the pirates the last 80 games
