  1. The guy is awesome. Plain and simple. Thankfully we get to watch him at least until 2020 in a Brewers uniform.
  2. The smart thing would have been playing today's game like a playoff game, winning it, and watching ARZ lose. That allows you to play Wed's game like an exhibition game and rest starters and allows you to align the playoff rotation as you see fit. On the flip side, he plays Mon's game like it doesn't matter and will have to sweat it out Tues and Wed to get home field advantage. Dumb, is right.
  3. Yup. The Cards are as good as in at this point. Would not be surprised in the least if they are able to knock off the Phillies. They're playing great baseball.
  4. Greinke pitches tomorrow. Wouldn't be surprised if he bailed to get his normal rest. Go Brewers! Great season...and hopefully the best is yet to come!
  5. I am freaking out over the prospect of STL making the playoffs. I have a sick feeling that we would end up facing them and have 0 confidence in us beating them. Not only are they the hottest team in MLB right now, but I have said in the past and firmly believe their lineup 1-8 is better than the Brewers. Also, the TLR factor. He could out-manage RR in his sleep. I want ATL to hold on to the WC badly. The only thing worse than losing a playoff series is losing a playoff series vs the hated Cardinals.
  6. You guys sound surprised at this lineup. I'm surprised when I DO NOT see Betancourt and McGehee in the lineup at this point. RR has shown no inclination to change things for good so I just expect to see the 2 underachievers in the lineup each day.
  7. I do not want to see the Cardinals in the playoffs but I fear they will be there.
  8. Interesting that the guys first and second posts come in the Mat Gamel thread. Very long winded posts too which make me believe it was more of an insider rant than a casual post. If not Mat, it's a close friend or relative with insider info. Either way, I feel Gamel's gotten a bad rap for no good reason and has been toyed around with by the organization and not given consistent ABs when hes been called up so it's impossible to judge his performance in my opinion.
  9. That whole post is like a Brewer fan's worst nightmare.
  10. This leads me to propose the question...if the Brewers got swept in the first round of the playoffs and Prince signs elsewhere this off season would you be disappointed that the Brewers didn't trade him prior to the season or at the deadline, seeing as though he is arguably the most valuable trading chip the Brewers have had in decades.
  11. I never believed in the phrase "peaking too early" until I watched the Brewers do what they've done over the last few weeks...vs actual good teams.
  12. Doesn't matter who they face lately. They can't hit period!
  13. Yes, I'm sure they will beat them once. What are you trying to say...beat them once or win the series vs PHi?
  14. Yes but their schedule is a joke after that.
  15. This is on RR now. The fact that Rodriguez is talking about this again today tells me RR was too gun shy to address the comments immediately and take control of the situation yesterday. Obviously Melvin and RR deserve blame for not letting him know up front that if Axford continues to get the job done, the role belongs to him. K Rod is an idiot though. To get all worked up over a meaningless, individual stat is not being a team player and for that reason alone am happy he will not be a Brewer next year. They better corral him ASAP so this doesn't start to be a distraction in the clubhouse.
  16. So the lead is 5.5 now. Not the kind of start I'd expect from Marcum. He sure wasn't fooling anyone tonight.
  17. What do you base that opinion on? Green has made more solid contact than McGehee in the little time that we have been able to see him, and Yuni has proven that he is not going to improve at the plate at all so you may as well give JHJ a chance. I just disagree with the claim that it will not make a significant difference offensively.
  18. Our local media has not put the heat on RR enough for playing those two seemingly everyday. Keep putting the numbers in front of RR and ask how he can justify it. I'd love to hear his answers.
  19. Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results Keep running McGehee and Betancourt out there, RR. The above applies to you...
  20. Add him to the list of has been average players that the Cardinals somehow resurrect.
  21. RR will never learn. I've resigned myself to the fact that we'll be seeing these guys in the starting lineup until Melvin dumps both of them this off-season.
  22. This is all on RR. He's been a stubborn clown playing Betancourt and McGehee everyday when the stats suggest they are garbage. He's running this team into the ground and it's blatantly obvious he's in over his head.
  23. Hmm...wasn't that division lead 10.5 games not so long ago? Same 'ol Brewers. They beat up on Astros, Pirates and Cubs but when it comes to facing good teams (Cards and Phills) they show their true colors.
