  1. Kuroda is unbeatable if he's getting the "Greg Maddux" zone (1 foot off the plate) called for strikes
  2. "It's only 395 in Center but it plays a lot longer than that in Dodger Stadium" -Rock How is 395 feet longer in one ballpark vs 395 ft in another ballpark??
  3. You guys see Braun fake out the crowd with the mock ball toss after he caught that fly ball? Classic. They must be razzing him pretty hard out there,
  4. Don't buy that rationale. Do you see any of the other 4 starters call Lucroy out to the mound nearly as much as you do with Wolf? There's a trend here. Narveson has in the past if I recall. My guess is you would surely recall if it was nearly as frequent as Wolf does.
  5. Don't buy that rationale. Do you see any of the other 4 starters call Lucroy out to the mound nearly as much as you do with Wolf? There's a trend here.
  6. Everyone says Wolf has a "complex" set of signs. Does anyone know what that means? Seriously.
  7. If I were Lucroy I'd whip him the bird and say you come to the plate and talk to me if you need to say something...
  8. You Carlos Gomez lovers can have him, he's pure and utter GARBAGE.
  9. It's easy to draw that conclusion when your team is doing nothing to drive in runs but every team has these issues. When things are going really well, not so much, but not many teams do this at an extremely high level all year. Really? I think it's a product of a team that is well over .500 and doing everything well at the same time (hitting and pitching) whereas teams that can't put both facets together at the same time hover around .500 or less (ie. Milwaukee).
  10. It's amazing how many guys are left on base. When you look at STL's box scores you always see Berkman, Pujols and Holliday picking up RBI's. Our guys never seem to come thru.
  11. Only reason why Lucroy is catching Wolf is pretty soon his "personal catcher" Nieves will be a goner.
  12. Talk about a freefall. From a September major league call up to A-ball. Tough to see another #1 pick pitcher underachieve.
  13. 99% of the problem is RR batting him 2B. If RR recognized the blatantly obvious and batted his defensive specialist 8th, I think fans could better appreciate his positives.Try to find the offensive positives in 8 LOB's for him tonight. 2 spot, 4 spot, 8 spot...it's pathetic anyway you slice it. I'm still searching for positives...
  14. And costing us the opportunity to add several others with the bat. Zing!
  15. Don't get the hating on Ax. He's been really good in save situations for the last month.
  16. Because RR is a "player's manager" and doesn't want to upset anyone. He wants to be loved.
  17. No. Ax-Man is going to come in and close the door for Marcum's 5th W.
  18. Loe has really been bad this year, that's why it really makes no sense. An FIP of 4.25 isn't shut down reliever stuff Yet, whenever you hear RR talk about Loe (especially after a bad performance), he says "but Loe has been really, really good this year...". The problem is aside from Game 1 of the season, he had 7 straight scoreless appearances to start the year. It's like RR remembering Gomez's great hitting approach in Spring Training and using it to justify his place in the lineup at the present time. I guess the moral of the story for the future, start the year like gangbusters, struggle all you want for a few months and still expect to see your name in the crucial spot in the batting order and also run out there as the 8th inning setup guy...nearly everyday.
  19. HE SAW SOMETHING IN SPRING TRAINING! Just ask him. It was for almost a whole month. (I'm not making this up). Roenicke has been in baseball for over two decades. Has been managing for over ten years. How is it possible for a guy to be this dense regarding batting Gomez 2nd? It truly is mind boggling. Yet, come tomorrow, Gomez will be back in the two hole. Pure insanity. Plus, where is Melvin on this? Can't he tell Running Ron to stop the madness and remove Carlos from batting in a spot he's so mismatched for? Maybe it's just my opinion, but I see Melvin as a very passive, hands-off GM when it comes to instructing a manager what to do with the players on the field. Yet, you're right, we will most likely see Gomez in the #2 spot tomorrow night and we'll be posting the same type of comments as we did tonight about Gomez and RR. I can't help but think of the old adage: fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. All the shame is on RR right now.
  20. Because RR has an unhealthy obsession/man crush on him. That's the only thing I keep thinking to myself...
  21. Oh. My. God. Gomez. That right there solidified his move out of the #2 spot. If RR puts him there tomorrow, he's dumb. Reason #193 why I hate Gomez.
  22. Would be really, really nice to get an insurance run or two here. Come on, Rickie.
  23. The latter won't be on the team next year, don't worry. Hopefully at the trade deadline, we'll get his replacement for the remainder of the season. The Yuni at SS experiment has proven to be a failure, not that anyone is surprised.
