I'd be feeling a heck of a lot better about the Greinke trade if Odorizzi didnt have to be included. I think if he wasnt included, KC never would have traded with Milwaukee. Having said that, if you can acquire 2 proven, top of the rotation starters (Greinke and Marcum) for unproven prospects, you do it every time without thinking twice. We have witnessed far too many seasons of pitching devoid teams that can rake. Pitching wins games and this off season Melvin finally proved that he understands that. -
Good point by BA right there. Nobody seems to be swinging at that breaking ball in the dirt this year for Ax. The book is out on him.

It will be interesting to see people come up with their excuses for why Lucroy isn't going to be catching Wolf tonight. The built-in day game after night game excuse won't fly and coming off a day off there's no excuse other than RR cowering with his tail between his legs to appease a number 4 starters demands. Cant wait to see the lineups posted. The teams best avg hitter better be playing.

LaTroy's already amazing ERA gets even lower. Our bullpen sure will look nice when we get Saito back. Loe/Latroy/Saito/Ax Man at the end of games will be huge.

He is to old. Can't handle that many games. Twice a week would be advisable though. They better trade for a SS at the deadline. Or better yet...sooner. I have this funny feeling Melvin and RR have faith in this guy for no imaginable reason. The thought makes me laugh and want to cry at the same time, but I have a feeling that even if they acquire a SS, they'll still play Betancourt most of the time. They act like this guy will divert from his career norms and all of a sudden field well and get on base a lot. The same rationale applies to Gomez who's never been over .300 OBP. At least we have Morgan to spell Gomez.

We haven't seen RR do that with him all year long. Why would he start now? He has pinch hit for Gomez though before.

If you saw Betancourt in the batter's box, you'd be more inclined to take your chances there too

Don't blame them for trying. Burrell is Dunn-awful out there in LF. He just made a perfect throw.

I feel more confident in getting a "W" when Marcum is pitching than any other starter we have right now. Go get 'em Bulldog!

Greinke has been Matt Garza. High K total, high ERA.

Huge win. Didn't look promising at first but thankfully the bullpen picked up Narvy. I never felt completely out of it because after all...we are playing the Nationals. Let's get the best start of the season tomorrow from Zack to complete back-to-back sweeps. Oh does that sound nice!
