  1. I don't know....Garcia, Carpenter, McClellan and Lohse are impressing me.
  2. Man STL is annoying the heck out of me. Winning every day and Berkman is better than ever hitting .400 and adding a potent punch to an already stacked middle of the lineup with Pujols and Holliday. Every year they change players, add in guys that were disappointing or average players on other teams and they come to STL and are solid performers.
  3. Because Loe relies on pounding the low end of the strikezone as a groundball pitcher and if he isn't getting a) people to bite on the low pitch or b) getting the ump to call the low strike it probably gets in his head and he worries about putting a meatball right in the middle of the zone.
  4. I think it would be much easier to bench him if Plush was healthy.
  5. Lowest baseball IQ of any baseball player in the history of MLB. Not even arguable.
  6. OK, so you don't like Randy Wolf, message received. Would it be a correct assumption that "to teach Wolf a lesson" RRR should make him pitch to Lucroy instead of Nieves? Nevermind the comfort level of Wolf, or of the rest of the pitching staff. It's better to teach Wolf who's the boss!! Thankfully RRR doesn't have the same alpha male attitude and is actually thinking in terms of what makes the team better, even if that means Wolf gets what he wants and pitches to Nieves. I took RR for his word. He's obviously cowering to his player. If you appreciate a manager who gives in to his player's every request, then you'll be very happy with RR.
  7. Amen. Certain people here will make excuses or brush it off as "he needs to rest once every 5 days anyways" but nobody is getting fooled that it's continually on Wolf's day to pitch. First class douche and prima donna.
  8. It's pretty frustrating that your best catcher and one of the better hitters on the team has to sit the bench because he "can't" catch WolfWolf is just a first class jerk who gets easily rattled on the mound and uses his stupid gestures and calls time every 5 minutes to make it seem like its the catcher's fault when he gets shelled. How can every other pitcher on our team work well with Lucroy but him? Roenicke doesn't have the stones to man-up and live up to his word. He's cowering to our #4 pitcher's demands.
  9. So much for Roenicke's word that he will be pairing Lucroy with Wolf this year. Not coincidently, the last few starts Wolf's been paired with Nieves.
  10. All I care about is the 75 pitches he threw. Exactly what he was set out to do. No setbacks...come on up to the bigs, Zack!
  11. My fear is that the Brewers are relying on a guy who has spent the last few years in AAA and never really had a prolonged opportunity to see big league pitching. It's asking an awful lot out of a guy to expect he will rake after not being in the show for even one full season. So, it's more so that they're hoping he will handle 1B okay enough and not look silly at the plate, rather than having any substantive stats in the big leagues to prove it.
  12. Agreed with a previous poster who put this "L" on Gallardo. He's pitching horribly and definitely like the #5 starter in this rotation. The guy has 0 confidence in his stuff and for a guy who has the repertoire that he does to not have the "go at you" mentality, it really is frustrating as a fan. He better get his act together soon. This team isn't capable of coming back from huge deficits each time Yo pitches.
  13. Still irritated we didn't put in an offer for Chapman when he was a FA. If Cincy could afford him in the budget, we should've made an offer. I knew back then the guy was legit.
  14. Got a kick out of the Cubs website's message board. There is a 3-page thread started today entitled: No doubt...we sign Fielder now. Also got a good laugh out of another thread dedicated to Mike Quade now complaining about the weather the Cubs have to deal with playing in Wrigley. Priceless stuff.
  15. I was thinking the same thing. He's hit 95 several times so far tonight. Bringing the gas!
  16. What are they waiting for with Hart? Don't get the rationale of having the guy come up from Nashville and then not activating him. If he wasn't ready, why not keep him in Nashville a little longer?
  17. They weren't swinging at his junk balls tonight. His changeup didn't have any effectiveness whatsoever because he was not able to get them to bite on it and couldn't set it up with any other pitches since nothing was working.
