Royal fan and ESPN writer Rob Neyer said it best to Drew and Dan Needles on ESPNMilwaukee: Betancourt is a truly horrible baseball player. The sooner Doug Melvin and the Brewers realize that and replace him, the better their chances are this season to compete. -
Gomez....YES! Gomez...NO! In the same at bat.
-
The bottom of our order is useless.
-
I'm sorry but that was just dumb plate approach by Prince right there. A guy is clearly on the ropes walking 2 straight batters and he reaches out to flail at the first pitch? Terrible.
-
Couldn't have said it better myself. It's like the old saying "trying to be too cute." That's exactly what RR is doing with these shifts.
-
Seriously Braun? You can't make a better throw than that???
-
The Nationals broadcasters are laughing at this shift saying that "baseball has been played a certain way all these years and they're trying to rewrite the game"
-
Narvy is dealin'! He's the best pitcher on the staff this year....so far.
-
An April game attendance record in Pittsburgh!
-
If he keeps throwing goose eggs up, I'm sure he'll be begging RR to have Lucroy catch his next start.
-
Does Wolf have to take a leak badly or something? Seemed very anxious to get back to the dugout quickly.
-
He thought it was a dinger.
-
Wolf is a jerk. Supposedly Lucroy doesn't "call" the pitch he wants and gets frustrated easily that he has to shake him off every pitch. He's already had 2 mound visits in the 1st inning and has asked for sign resets from Lucroy several times. I was amused that the camera caught Rick Kranitz smiling after Wolf called Lucroy out there for his 2nd mound visit.
-
"I know they talked a lot in spring training," said Roenicke. "I brought it to their attention they they need to work it out. 'Luc' is going to be our catcher. I don't want him to go through the season without catching (Wolf). I knew last year that Macha purposely paired Kottaras with Wolf after that game Wolf showed Lucroy up by gesturing and vocally showing his displeasure with his catcher. I recall watching Wolf act like a prima donna and felt sorry for Lucroy. Wolf is 0-2 with a 7+ ERA. I'm glad JLuc didn't catch any of his other games this year when he was shelled so he can't be used as a scapegoat if he gets his (butt) handed to him again tonight....by the Pirates. Mad respect for RR's decision to do this. Great managerial move. Macha was scared to "upset" Wolf, and RR just wants to win.

Any win against the Cubs is a GREAT win. Just picturing those FIB's driving home sad makes me smile.
-
Cut me. You pay. Way to go McGehee.
-
What are you looking at Kottaras?
-
Kerry "Cutter" Wood
-
Great start Yuni!
-
It should be one of the catchers to go when Lucroy returns...
-
I think Reed's days with the team are numbered. He's the guy to go when Hart is activated.
-
Yo at 90 pitches thru 4. Doubt he makes it thru the 5th.
-
Brenly/Kasper mocking Braun's pre-swing routine and saying they played the "Chicken dance" music last season before he swings... They shut up quickly after Braun sent that ball to Chicago on the fly. The bats are picking up Yo today...
-
What's up with Yo today? He's sure not fooling anyone.
-
Not too optimistic about our pitching matchup tomorrow with Narveson vs. Garza. They had the advantage today as well. Sunday we have a far greater advantage with Yo. But based on face value projections, our odds are to lose this series 1-2.
