  1. I proposed last night after his second at bat, I believe, that Yost sit Prince against the lefty Duke. I predict a lineup of: 1) Brady CF 2) JJ SS 3) Jenks RF 4) El Caballo LF 5) Corey Hart! IB 6) Weeks 2B 7) Hall 3B http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/glasses.gif Miller C 9) TOMO Note: Hall and Hart could be interchanged in the order.
  2. 86 more of these W's and I'll look like a genius!
  3. < ugh; you just have to feel for him!> He's overthinking out there. You can tell he's trying NOT to K instead of thinking he's gonna get a hit. Against Duke tomorrow, I propose sitting him down a game and letting Corey Hart get some AB's from 1B. Who's with me?
  4. Yes, Lehr, Kolb, and Wise sure made it look a lot easier. That's encouraging to see our bullpen horses eat em up 1-2-3.
  5. I totally agree there. If the Rockies are using him as B.P. practice, i would dread seeing Pujols, Griffey, Lee/Ramirez, Rolen, etc. tee off against this fella. P.S. He needs a trim in the back of his hair. Mistaking his mop for a mullet pretty soon.
  6. Not to be negative already but this Fernandez guy is throwing B.P. There isn't much deception involved with his pitch. Makes you realize pretty quickly how this dude is a career minor leaguer. His ERA in the minors was even over 4. I don't know, I'm really not impressed. I would rather have another power arm in the pen than this guy. If he does make the team, he's best suited as a 1-inning guy NOT a multiple inning pitcher because it seems he's easy to catch up with the second time around.
  7. Sitting on the bench next to the gamers and the other hard workers. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif ...And the battlers were sitting next to those guys.
  8. No chance we win tomorrow with Duke pitching....and Santos pitching for us. If I were in Vegas I would be betting my bank account on that L.
  9. So, Yost is HIDING Rickie Weeks injury and taking the chance that this *possible* future all-star will injure his hand even worse in the final games of a non-playoff season? Get real. There is no reason for him to hide this injury. It's not like he's Lyle Overbay or Fielder....potential trade candidates. Weeks will be the 2B for us next year. Why would Yost risk anything. Evidently, it is not as bad an injury as you would like to make it out to be....maybe Weeks just is in a major funk. It is possible. Look at the pitches he's been swinging at and tell me that it is all because of his "injury." Stop making excuses for inept play.
  10. < He also needs surgery more than Hardy. That's why JJ's going and Rickie's not.> No one has ever indicated that he would have surgery done. Yost doesn't sound too worried about it (and we all know that Yost isn't afraid to sit people if he thinks they're hurting). Rickie Weeks is in the lineup, which tells me he is physically near 100%.
  11. Is it just me or has Rickie Weeks done more to HURT us than help us as of late? He REALLY needs a lot of work with his glove, bat, baserunning, etc this off-season. Tell me again, why is he not going to the AZ Fall League? He needs it more than Hardy.
  12. Yost definitely fools me when he says .500 is his goal. You put this lineup out there and expect to win? You are just asking HOU to sweep you when you do something this stupid. If you're resting guys this late in the season, that is totally stupid. With a few weeks to go, what the heck is the difference? You put your best lineup out there if you want to accomplish this .500 goal. I question Yost's logic a lot, but how can't you?
  13. Way to hit in the clutch tonight....clean house with this lineup...these are not "playoff" caliber players. Pathetic.
  14. The game better not be dunn. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif Georgie De La Rosa....shut em down!
  15. You know what, looking at this game objectively....this has been a great ballgame to watch. Great pitching....getting out of jams (do in much part to Drew Olsen's point about the Brewers choking with RISP) but nonetheless, a great pitcher's dual.
  16. Yippee...the best news I've heard all day.
  17. Is it bad that everytime Branyan comes to the plate I EXPECT a strikeout? Kudos to Richard Helling.....a heck of an effort.
  18. Come to think of it, yes, I do indeed feel better. When one of those 3TO's is a STRIKEOUT....I think I have right to get a jab or two in. Have a great night.
  19. All the Branyan lovers can now hide in a hole. Take that OPS crap and shove it. He is absolutely horrible. I could get the clown out. Throw at his eyes and he's whiffing. He is NOT the answer. I have been consistent with that the whole year. PATHETIC....and you 3TO nutjobs are just as bad as Branyan himself.
  20. Well, with win number 67 today we have officially matched our TOTAL win total for the 2004 season...on September 4th. That is pretty cool. While improvement is a good thing, how bout we start to get greedy....with a team like Cincy, a good team would at least take 2 of 3 in this series. In order to get to .500, we have to start winning and sweeping series. With Houston, STL, Chicago and other challenging teams yet to come, we have to beat the Cincy's to get our W total up.
  21. Props to Drew Olsen for commenting on innings much like the one we just witnessed. The supposed "heart" of the order comes up with the 3-4-5 to only result in 3 K's and stranding the leadoff 2 on first and second base. Where's the execution of moving the runners over? This is what he meant when he compared the Brewers and Cardinals. If So Taguchi, Mark Grudzielanek, David Eckstein and company can do it, why shouldn't we expect Prince, Lee, or Jenkins to be able to? Horrible. This is what separates winning teams from losing teams.
  22. Who here still thinks they'll get to .500 at 81-81 when its all said and done. With 66 wins right now, I'll say it's very unrealistic at this point. We're really not taking advantage of being at home here these last few weeks, and I can already see this team fading into oblivion the last few weeks of the season. The passion is gone. 74-75 wins tops. I'll predict that.
  23. Yes, PITCHING is a major need this off-season. A front-line number 2 starter (because neither Davis or Capuano are #2's...sorry to burst some of your bubbles, but its true...at least on a playoff-caliber team). And the bullpen needs to be shored up. Capellan, Kane Davis, Julio Santana....those are not very good pitchers. Capellan...91 mph fastball....where's the 101 I heard about when we traded Kolb?? No wonder ATL let go of him, cause you know they wouldn't dump a pitcher who had potential. They're too smart for that. Some of the other guys in the pen are AAA caliber and don't even belong in the bigs. We need consistency from the pen. Derrick Turnbow is a waste of an arm if we don't have the setup men to get the ball to him.
  24. This is why the Brewers stink. I can typically stick it down as an automatic "L" when we face a rookie pitcher (especially a lefty). They can't hit with RISP, and Doug Davis' control was horrible (as usual). I'm sorry, but he is no #2 pitcher. He is a #4 at best. If this team does not find a #2 pitcher for next year, they will be in trouble. He walks 4 batters in the first inning and it's game over! 5 runs? That's a number 2? His command has been off all season (take a peak at who leads all NL pitchers in BB's). As far as I am concerned, he doesn't deserve to win 10 games because he surely doesn't pitch like a double-digit type of pitcher.
  25. Kane Davis looked like a tool out there tonight. Couldn't hit his locations (unless he was aiming for their heads??). And fielded his position horribly as well. In the back of my mind I wondered how a guy with a 96 mph fastball could be a career AAA player. Tonight, I found my answer. Should've been a W....Davis deserved it.
