  1. I knew you were waiting to use that one Brian
  2. A bunch of the northsidebaseball.com guys seem to think Young's comments were racial in nature. Edit: To be fair to them, it's really mostly one guy and a bunch of dudes disagreeing with him And a few of them seem to think it was "awesome" that Zambrano had his belt off--given that he was running around screaming and inciting with what amounts to a weapon in his hand, I still can't believe they let him pitch the rest of the ballgame. What a child, I hate that guy.
  3. Seems like everytime I see a gaudy number from the Brewers in the splits the last week or two, it's got Corey Koskie's or Rickie Weeks' name next to it
  4. I can't believe that you even compared the two. Actually, more than once I've seen Brewers fans do those things at Brewers-Cubs games at Wrigley, so believe it.
  5. The irony, of course, is this guy doesn't seem to realize that the Brewers often hold their own against aces (Verlander, of course, aside) but bow to fourth starters just up from AA.
  6. Another perspective, from northsidebaseball.com: (edited for our virgin ears)
  7. If the Brewers make the playoffs I'll fly out from Cali and do what I have to do, but I guess it just cracks me up that this thread pops up today after a month of wailing and gnashing of teeth (much of it coming from me)
  8. A bottle of wine, The Beach Boys' Sunflower album, and brewerfan.net Am I in heaven or hell
  9. Question is, did any of the people enjoying the big Brewers fan presence in Minneapolis last night complained about the Cubs fan presence at Miller Park after Chicago's wins last week?
  10. I notice the WWE shied away from naming the cause of death in their press release The McMahons have one thing in common with real sports: they've looked the other way while they made a lot of money on the backs of steroid-popping athletes
  11. Is there a site somewhere that has a list of who has what White Album? If they can have the numerical possesion lists for Nirvana's Love Buzz 7and GBV's original Propeller LPs online then this has gotta exist
  12. Heh, shipping cost $30. After spending 20 large on an album I'm flying to Scottsdale to pick it up.
  13. Yeah, I just watched the highlights and it got LOUD for Jenks' jack and Billy Hall's double.
  14. Just got back from dinner with this happy surpise Why am I always there to watch every minute of the heart-attack games but miss the romps?
  15. Being in front of a division lets you focus on rooting for your own team rather than praying for other teams to lose in order to feel good about your team's chances. I agree but there's just something about a 10-20 stretch that leads to scoreboard watching.
  16. Interesting. Beer, wine, cars and computers are all the same to me: things I use all the time (but not at the same time!) but which I'm mostly ignorant about the intricacies of.
  17. They looked good doing it, too, with their youngsters (well, Fontenot) contributing They look like a team turning it around, I think it's gonna be a crazy second half but like someone said, the hot start and the schedule really helps the Brewers here
  18. When I was living in Florida taking a year off college in the late 90s and waiting tables at the Vinoy Resort there, I waited on a table of New Jersey Devils who were in town to play the Lightning. Martin Brodeur tipped me a c-note on a $60 bill, so even though I'm not a hockey fan I'll always be a fan of the New Jersey Devils.
  19. I'm on "your side" as it were about fruit and beer, blatzlight, but I'm still a little surprised that Chill isn't a "malternative." It tasted vaguely "artificial" to me. Like it wasn't beer with lime and salt added but a drink made to taste like beer with lime and salt in it. I drank two last night and I think the rest will sit in the fridge for some time to come.
  20. I think most everyone here knows it's not beer. It is alcohol, and it is kinda tasty, however, and sometimes that's enough.
  21. Drinking my first bottle of a newly-bought sixer right now, thanks to curiosity piqued by this thread. The guy at the bodega laughed at me when I bought it.
  22. That 4th quarter was the first quarter I watched since the Warriors and Bulls got bounced and I feel like I didn't miss a thing. The Cavs looked terrible, even coming back like that and the Spurs don't excite me in the slightest. Honestly, has there ever been a duller dynasty in any sport ever? It's hardly gonna bother Duncan as he shines his 4th title, but man oh man those guys are boring. They're not even fun to hate.
  23. The 3-3 on the road trip so far has already exceeded my expectations...I really hope we can steal 2 of 3 here
  24. I think the schedule's a good point, too, but I guess I tend to gravitate towards things like an under .500 Twins team that always plays us tough, road trips to the Brew Crew's Black Hole aka PNC Park, four head-to-heads against the Cards and Cubs (three of those on the road), etc This is a different Brewers' team this year, though, gotta keep reminding myself of that
