  1. You really should check out the City Museum when you're in St. Louis. Not like Milwaukee Public, it's a weird, completely different beast.
  2. I'm unfamiliar with Wisconsin tax law...despite the amount owed and length of time he's owed it, he doesn't have any criminal warrants out on him?
  3. I gotta disagree...I'm really not into jam bands but I saw the Dead twice and Phish three times (I know, I know). Phish was by far the tighter, more melodic outfit. Of course, I saw the Dead in the early 90s when Garcia was nearing the end.
  4. Did they ever announce that "breaking Yost news"?
  5. Did LaRussa announce his All-Star coaches already? I assume if it was worth anything we'd have heard it by now
  6. I literally just got home from a weekend away in the boonies of Big Sur to see this 12th inning...Cordero blew two saves this weekend?!?
  7. Maybe if he set the prediction to song Rluz wouldn't be as pissy.
  8. Do you mean this game or the season, Russ
  9. I have to defend my fellow Eagles fans by saying that the ones that make the road trips in mass numbers are usually the alcohol-fueled obnoxious ones. There's this team about 90 miles south of Milwaukee called the "Cubs"...
  10. Sorry buddy I've always heard the apocyrphal stories but it wasn't until attending games at Chicago and Tampa against the Eagles that I really appreciated them
  11. I've always really liked Phillies fans but hated Eagles fans...strange, eh? Anyway, have a good time in Milwaukee. It's a relatively quiet little city but there's fun to be found, especially during summer. I was always a fan of the brewery tour cruises from Lakefront Brewery along the Milwaukee River--if you can get one of those in before the game, try to. The tour ends at Rock Bottom Brewery downtown and they'll just let you off there if that's where your hotel is at. Brew City Queen
  12. Wild Pitch, Nats Win! Ugh, too early in the year for obsessive score-watching of bad teams
  13. St. Louis ties it up, ugh
  14. Guzman to second on a Zimmerman single...the game should be won right now but here comes ole Ronnie Belliard in pinch
  15. After Felipe Lopez swings at Ball Four, Cristian Guzman singles with one out Come on Nats, end this here
  16. I wouldn't mind a few more against Wahsington Hopefully the Nats can pull something out of their hats Almost forgot to root on the Rockies too...they're up as well early on
  17. Looking good for the Crew so far...if the worst that happens today is the Brewers letting the Cubs get 6.5 back I think I'll be OK.
  18. Watching the NL Central really does provide one with hope for the Crew's playoff chances after a tough loss
  19. In which we find ourselves in the slightly embarassing and perhaps futile position of cheering on the Nationals and Reds Washington up in the 4th by one, St. Louis and Cincy infive minutes
  20. The Brewers are 33-27 right now. If they go 2-7 like ilivlamp says, they'll be 35-34, one game over
  21. Will people say "It's Over" (i.e., the tough part of the schedule) after they go 2-7 on what looks to be a tough road trip? The whole schedule looks tough the way these guys are playing right now
  22. Does the fact that the HR was close to the line make a difference? Yeah, that's all I got from last night's. If anything, it was home run #2 that had the stare-n-flip.
  23. Well, no personal offense here, but let me just say I'm glad the Brewers don't play like that. When Prince got all worked up a couple weeks back against the Pirates and started taunting, I thought it was forgivable because they nearly took his head off the night before. Otherwise it's classless and unnecessary. One thing that's always stuck in my craw was the way Andujar "gunned down" Gantner during Game 7 of the '82 World Series, and doing things like glaring into the other team's dugout and slow trots, while not as overt as that, just strike me as bush league and obnoxious. To change the subject: At this point it's fine to slap a dog across the face when you bet him. I've never heard this phrase before.
  24. I hit a home run only once, in Babe Ruth ball as a teen, and remembering my coach firmly and repeatedly telling us not to showboat, I took my quick trot with my head down and got off the field. Watch HR #2 again...he's just on the wrong side of showboating. I don't have much issue with what he did tonight, although maybe I just got the wrong angle.
