  1. If this happens I'm getting on Stub Hub and buying a few tickets so the seats will stay empty out of protest
  2. Well, to be fair, they lost Soriano for awhile. Unfortunately for us they lost him when he was a black hole at the top of the lineup, and when he came back he remembered that he's kinda good. Of course...my bad. I think his pre-injury lousiness was indeed why I forgot. Anyway, no excuses, the Cubs are playing great ball and they're a very good ball team. I'm just not willing to concede the division to them at this still-early (yes) juncture and I'd certainly hope the Brewers aren't, either, since I know the Brewers are capable of hanging with them as a team and can definitely beat them in the head-to-heads
  3. I don't care about the politics of the website. I don't particularly care for Al's politics, for example, but I read him every day, mostly because he doesn't throw unsubstantiated rumors against the wall and try to pass them off as any glimmer of fact. I just mostly thought it was ridiculous that a poster from here would go there to call those of us here "sheep" who questioned the credibility of a blog who many of us had never even heard of before today (conservative politics in SE Wisconsin is a bit of niche) that posts something like that without any evidence or named sources whatsoever. It's a changing world, and blogs do often break as many stories as the "mainstream media" these days...that doesn't mean I won't question a report that has absolutely no backing, especially from an unfamiliar outlet. There's nothing sheepish about that; if anything, it shows an inquisitive mind.
  4. We've gone 4-2 against this invincible team in their crib Our SOS has been more difficult, they've been injury-free thus far, it's still May, and bottom line we want the playoffs, which doesn't necessarily predicate winning the division. This isn't over yet.
  5. By the way, would this person: Show themselves rather than call people "sheep" from home territory?
  6. Yost gets paid a million dollars to be a cheerleader with no accountabitity on the team's performance. What a great overpaying job. Hmmmm.... Next week at this time... Seriesfinale (clapping on the steps of the dugout): "Alright guys, up and at 'em...let's some grit, and some battling out there.....c'mon, gritty battlers!"
  7. Man, that was a great day. "My friend saw Turnbow and Wise run into the dugout. This means we traded for Dunn." Haha, good memories. Were it so. Anyway, I do think it is a good question just who is this Badger Blogger and why anyone should believe him. He basically makes a claim that doesn't seem altogether outrageous with absolutely no proof to back it up and people lapped it up like gospel.
  8. Yeah, I read that...I'm pretty neutral on TH but I was embarassed for his attitude in the tail end of that piece
  9. I've been refreshing bf.net all day, waiting for the news: http://www.rikksrevues.com/Photo2Mayfield.jpg "Neddie's Dead..." I get the feeling this is gonna be like waiting around all day for that Rolen deal to go down though...an ultimately fruitless endeavour.
  10. Well, first off, you're assuming they're looking to fire him at all. We don't have any real indication of that. Certainly waiting to see how the rest of the road trip goes wouldn't exactly be out of the realm of possibility. It's not like managerial firings in baseball only happen on "off days." In fact, looking ahead, next Monday's game in Washington is a day game, while the game at Miller Park on Tuesday is in the evening. Certainly, that would leave time for Melvin and company to make any decisions. I'm apt to agree with you, but I also wonder if these games against the Pirates and Nationals would be indicative of anything....like, if they go 4-2 against those two particular teams, is that enough to save Ned's job? In my own personal opinion, Ned already hasn't done enough to keep the job, and I don't think those six games should make the difference--we've had six years. If anything, if they continue along this track it could be hurtful to keep him for another week (and don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Ned is the sole problem with this team, far from it). I just think it'd be good that if they indeed are going to can Ned, that they deal with this issue on an off-day, and then let the team get acclimated to a new skipper (whether it's Simba or Kremblas or whoever) before they come home in the midst of a 15 game stretch.
  11. If he doesn't get fired today, I'm not sure when they would do it--it just makes sense to do it today.
  12. Another vote for Kremblas
  13. Was there a polite clap for the team as they got swept out of Fenway? I nevere heard one Brewer fan unfortunately...saw a few sad-looking ones
  14. This might be a vent thread post, but: if not now, when? This team is meant to compete for the playoffs...I don't like it, but the buck ultimately stops with Ned. He is a losing manager and, as the leader, his underachieving team is four under and just got swept for the fourth time this young season. What is the debate here? I'll be absolutely disgusted with Mark A and Doug if they let us lose 2 of 3 in Pittsburgh before they make a change. The time for patience with this team and with this franchise is over and past; the horses are here, something's not right, and a change needs to be made
  15. Sure would be nice to take one lousy game this series
  16. "Uke, I gottttta tellya....*hiccup*...I love ya man. WAIT! NO! What I meant to say was that this lousy team is going NOWHERE until we bring up my fellow 3TO-er, Mr. Russell Branyan....I....I really want to kiss you right now..." *Dead air*
  17. Prediction: with Beckett pitching tomorrow, Ned Yost will be flying nowhere but back to Georgia to play pretend-pitcrew for some 'neckCAR raceteam Sunday evening Something has to give here and it's not going to be half the team being sent down to Nashville
  18. Mmm...this Chinese takeout sure tastes good...Brewers? What? Who are they?!?
  19. I'm pretty close to crying right now... Nah, I'm gonna go watch a movie or something and rinse my mind of this team and all the money I sink into supporting them
  20. Disgusting, disgusting, disgusting loss I know most Brewers fans (luckily) didn't get to see it, but this was awful the way they threw it away (literally) and capitulated to the chaff of the Red Sox bullpen
  21. Nice, come on guys, I know you can take it to Timlin here!!!
  22. Losing to the Red Sox B team tonight, uff da I get the sickest of feelings Beckett is gonna kill us tomorrow Something needs to be done
  23. Nice way to end the inning but... "WE WANT GAGNE" from the crowd? I honestly don't understand why those guys hate him so much, they won the WS regardless Unless you believe the Rangers will actually do anything with Gabbard and the guys Epstein traded... He's awful, and he's even worse because of his fat hirsute headcase piddliness, but c'mon, get off it, it's just petty and annoying and small Gagne's gonna end up costing the Brewers more; talk about a team's fans that deserve to boo Gagne
