  1. Yeah, it was a "reverse jinx." Clear as mud.
  2. I especially like the part where he says (I paraphrase), "They have Zambrano, and he's the man. He might be hurt, though. If so, that's not good for them." DRRRRR! They "have options." Like Rich Hill. I just don't get why Wojciechowski has understandable concerns about McClung and Bush and the pen, but is drinking the Kool-Aid on Sean Gallagher and Jason Marquis
  3. That Prince Fielder inside-the-parker is huge now...I bet Jays fans are pretty chapped.
  4. Haha, fantastic Phew, I'm off to drain a bottle after that one, fellas
  5. I'm not a fan of needless booing, but if i were there I would be booing my brains out. This is ridiculous. They were booing before the GS though...that's just silly
  6. Hee hee hee, That's Our Brew Crew!!!! Ugh
  7. Nice stain Dillard's putting on this beauty
  8. It is a real shame though that he won't even get the shutout. Great, great work regardless, though...I love it when haters get silenced.
  9. Well, I suppsoe I can post in this thread now...didn't want to jinx it before! Heck, I've left a shoelace go untied for half and hour now.
  10. From last night's IGT, I can pretty much cut and paste it: SeriesFinale wrote:That Cubs loss last night was very satisfying on a number of levels: 1. Came minutes after a Brew Crew blow-out win 2. They lost to the Rays, who I consider my "second team" after growing up in Sarasota and attending dozens of games there. 3. The seemingly-season-long plotline for the Cubs--late-inning comeback powered by clutch/improbable hitting--did not come to fruition this time 4. Seeing all those snowbird-bandwagon Cubs fans going nuts at the Trop when the Cubs made it 3-2 on that passed ball made me sick and I relished the idea of them being quieted and sent home (or back to their hotels) disappointed. Yeah, I'm bitter. And, we got the Zambrano meltdown we'd hoped for!
  11. Yeah, the Cubs and their fans have had absolutely no experience with injuries to stud pitchers.
  12. More evil twins: Tampa, Oakland
  13. My flight ended up being delayed 2 hours out of SF because of your thunderstorms out there. As we landed though, because it was light out, I got to see all the flooding down there...an amazing thing to see from the air. I went to donate to the Red Cross right after I got home.

  15. I really used to dislike "Sip all day...get tooth decay." A few years later and I still hear it in my head constantly The problem isn't the commercials themselves, it's the incessant repitition of what seems like five or six core ads both on TV and radio
  16. Jeez, looks like this will finally affect me personally: I'm taking the red-eye to Florida tonight, with a two hour pre-dawn layover in good old Milwaukee. Judging by the forecast, it could be a bumpy landing!
  17. That's strange, because literally almost every time they show him during a broadcast during one of his days off, he's on the edge of the dugout, shooting the breeze with all gamuts of the team, and usually smiling and laughing while doing it.
  18. Well, all the strong statistical evidence aside, I'm starting to believe they've got the fates on their side this year, too. The Brewers get a big win to take a road series and then a weak one-out homerun from the 2008 version of Jim Edmonds ties the game for the Cubs in the bottom of the 9th? So that one Mr. Reed Johnson can get hit by a ball to walk in the winning run in the 11th? Ridiculous.
  19. Oh my, it can almost never, ever, be easy, can it
  20. Uecker said basically the same thing on the radio broadcast. I think the exact words were "There's nobody I like to see get hit more than Valverde." And he went on to talk about him strutting and throwing up his arms and how no one in the majors likes to watch him. Us buff, golden-bronzed geniuses think alike, I guess
  21. There's not much I enjoy more in baseball than seeing the Brew Crew lay the blocks to a demonstrative clown like Valverde (or Zambrano)
  22. New iPhone, $199! (That's my half-joking font color)
  23. Thank you sir The Stu Sutcliffe story is one of the more tragic ones in rock history, I've always believed. He seemed like a great guy but now it's so hard to imagine his personality fitting within the band
