  1. I held out hope all of last year for such logic to prevail, but it never happened … maybe it will this year Even better would be Yeli returning to a quality player
  2. I attempted to say BOTH … Yelich should be dropped in the order to the bottom third until he shows he is capable of doing enough damage to warrant hitting 3rd and … I’d love to see him rest more often (maybe two days each week) against lefties to keep more impactful RH bats in the lineup I hate for salary & history to be the primary reasons he plays everyday & bats 3rd I hope he gets red-hot & removes the need for this discussion … but I see no reason to believe that will happen
  3. Yes … but does he have to bat 3rd against righties & lefties everyday?
  4. I like the lineup changes today … except for Yelich hitting 3rd If Cutch can lead off & Wong is moved to lower in the order … Why not Yelich? I hope we don’t have a third year of Yelich in the three hole everyday - even if he’s not producing It may not matter … this game will likely be cancelled due to rain & snow … but I wish Counsell would begin this year by playing Taylor & Cain against lefties until Yelich proves worthy of starting every day
  5. I hope to make it to Monday ? That will be easier if they move Yelich down in the bottom third of the batting order
  6. As a Twins fan, you probably haven’t followed Yelich closely the last two years … it truly makes no sense for him to be batting third I understand his salary “forces” the Brewers to start him most days - but Counsell is stubborn to play him everyday & bat him third
  7. Well at least we only have to endure Yelich in the three hole for another seven years I hope he only plays 80 games & hits in the bottom third of the order Maybe we get even tomorrow that was painful Hate the Cubs
  8. I’m already disappointed in our offense Hendricks is hard to watch - off speed & all over the map Frustrating opener so far
  9. I like this idea - Wil Meyers is another veteran with some MLB success. I also like that he has positional versatility as opposed to Voit.
  10. When I began this topic, it was more in frustration of concern that adding McCutchen would potentially bump Tyrone Taylor to less opportunities. Upon further reflection, he will likely get plenty of CF opportunities - based on LoCain’s recent history of injury as well as his current age. I still believe the Brewers needs a RH option at 1B in addition to Huira. I want to believe that he will return to his 2019 status, but he’s been horrid the last two years - even more so than Yelich. Like many others, I was hoping for Luke Voit to be the choice. Now that he’s in San Diego, maybe Tyler White gets a chance. Is it possible the Brewers are one of the mystery teams for Trevor Story? Okay - I’m dreaming - I’m not sure he is an option at 1B either. But that would certainly be fun!
  11. I’d rather see Urius higher … Yelich could bump down until he shows he can hit again
  12. I have always been intrigued by Colin Moran … I actually looked yesterday to see if he is still available
  13. I’m not sure who Clancy is … but I played baseball through college & was able to move around the diamond as needed I didn’t suggest that he never play OF again - just that he “learn” a new position in order to get in the lineup more often A better option would be to trade LoCain & start Taylor in CF
  14. Now that Milwaukee has signed McCutchen as a RH 4th OF, Taylor will once again be the odd man out … unless he learns to play 1B if Huira can man the position, surely the athletic Taylor could figure things out and provide an alternate to Rowdy Tellez I understand this is not ideal, but I like his bat I’m not sure why Garcia (last year) or Yelich (below average arm & only adequate as a LF - despite a gold glove) hasn’t been given an opportunity
  15. I’d love for Milwaukee to add one more bullpen arm … Hunter Strickland pitched well for the Brewers after being acquired last June He would be a nice addition this year as well He has a career ERA of 3.2 & was around 2.8 for the Crew in 2021 He should be available for something similar to the Boxberger deal Anyone else in favor?
  16. If we sign McCutchen (which I’m not in favor of), I hope we trade LoCain & keep Tyrone Taylor (less defense, but younger & more upside) And I love the idea of trading for Luke Voit Could the Yankees use LoCain?
  17. Excellent … now I’d like to see the Brewers add P - Strickland & DH - Cruz
  18. I would appreciate links to articles post new CBA
  19. Hey Brock - Welcome to Brewers baseball! I’m excited about the new & improved website (except for the pop up ads). I know you are making major renovations tomorrow. I’m not sure I know my username & password - I fear I might lose access to my favorite website. Suggestions? My email is edfunder1961@gmail.com Have a great Saturday! Ed
  20. I’ve searched & looked for clarity, but I do not see an answer to this question anywhere … so, help! Does the new CBA ban the shift this year or next year?
  21. What was decided on this issue in the agreement today?
  22. Not sure where this question fits best In layman’s terms … WHY? I don’t understand why an international draft is a bad idea
  23. I see so many negative posts on social media & suggestions that MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred be fired … but honestly, I don’t get it. No doubt, both sides (owners & players) are greedy & stubborn - neither seems to listen to the other side … the fans pay the price. But, I for one, like Rob Manfred & believe he is as good as previous commissioners - including former Brewers owner, Bud Selig. I’m sure many on this board will disagree - possibly in an aggressive way … but my opinion won’t change. I do hope there is a settlement & agreement in place ASAP. Like all of you, I’m ready for some baseball! Here’s hoping the Brewers “finally” win the World Series. I was 21 when they last appeared in the Fall Classic. I would love to see Milwaukee add another bat - maybe Nelson Cruz - & a few bullpen arms - maybe a few returning from last year’s successful pen. Go Brewers!
  24. Someone help me understand why Luke Barker is not a candidate for the Brewers bullpen? I was dumbfounded why he never got a call up last year. His MiLB stats are superb … I understand that doesn’t always lead to MLB success, but why not give him a try? Surely, he could out-perform the likes of Lindblom. Thoughts?
