Fun fact #2: They've been playing Major League baseball since the 1800's and in that time Jason Alexander has yet to allow a base runner, much less an earned run. We have this one in the bag. Let the summer of Jason commence.
Assuming the "starters" are Urias, Adames, Wong, Rowdy, Narvaez, Yelich, Taylor, and Renfroe", at DH I'd put McCutchen behind Keston and Peterson against righies, behind Brosseau against anyone.
Yeah, Brosseau should have walked on that second "strike". I also thought Keston struck out on a ball, but theres a good chance it would have been a strike.
Thats pretty much the lineup I would have put out if they asked me. If they dont score any runs Ill stop questioning Counsell, if the offense explodes Im sending DS my resume.
That was kind of my thinking. The have done a tremendous job of developing starting pitching. But, after Small there feels like a big gap to the next one.
I love it when a big prospect comes up. I cant wait for this one. Im preparing myself to either declare him a non prospect or delusionaly pencil him into Burnes spot in the rotation depending on how the first few innings go. Seriously though, after Small, who do you think is next SP prospect to make it to the Brewers?
Beating the Cardinals is always great, but when their ace and defense start to implode on top of that, its the pinnacle of regular season baseball for me.
I agree. Im a fan of Counsell. But McCutchen hasnt hit righties for over 3 years now. There is nothing, nothing you can point to that says he should hit 4th against a righty. He shouldnt even be playing, but even if he was, statistically hes at the bottom of the order. Its not even that hes had past success for Counsell. I dint get it. I try not to blame coaches too much, but in this instance McCutchen's failures from here on out against righties is squarely on Counsell. Has he even been asked by anyone in the media about this continued inexplicable decision?
Is there any stat out there that justifies McCutchen hitting fourth againt a righty? Serious question, not rhetorical. As in anything that makes him a better option over Brosseau or Huira, and/or not being at the bottom of the lineup.
