  1. They had patience and endured the Sproat struggles and it looks like it might be working out. Im hoping if they have the same patience with Yoho, he might put it together too. Idk, but sometimes you have to let young guys adjust. That said, they've had the same patience for Ortiz, and his hitting never quite came around, similar for Perkins.
  2. They do. But the Brewers have subpar players on the 26 with a tremendous farm system. So the Brewers are in a better position than most to fill those holes either through trade or call up. Some teams have holes without a path to plug them. They Brewers have options many teams dont.
  3. Im ready to win a World Series and be the self-righteous ones. F' it. We can explain the Cardinals and their fans the unwritten rules of baseball.
  4. They all count the same in the standings.
  5. They were going to bring him in anyway to play CF. You might as well pinch run him.
  6. Id take one more scoreless and give it to the pen at this point.
  7. Eh, game thread posts are just in the moment thoughts. They are going to be a little reactionary. Its best not to take them too seriously, or bookmark every over the top post in your mind.
  8. Two straight scoreless appearances from Yoho os a positive to take away from today.
  9. Yeah, I get why he's in there, but a MlB RF catches that ball.
  10. Errors on half of his chances, that's not going to cut it. Im ready to call up Made.
  11. Yeah if your bat has relegated you to exclusively a defensive replacement and pinch runner, you can't be a poor base runner.
  12. We all hoped he might be a star eventually, maybe hes there and its more than s streak.
  13. Starting to? Did 1982 and Tony Larussa just happen? The Cardinals existence is annoying.
  14. I would think that's the plan. And with the likelihood that whoever is starting at SS and 3rd are pinch hit candidates late in game, they will all play almost at least some every day. I would think this move upgrades the overall defense. And all Pratt has to do replace in a low .200's average without power for this to be an improvement.
  15. Yeah, Im going to give him a little time, maybe even til the All-Star game, before I expect him to be Cal Ripken.
  16. Those Vaughn numbers vs lefties are wild. I knew he hit lefties better but I didnt realize it was quite like that.
  17. Perkins going yard and El Gary is winnining challenges. We are destined to win this one.
  18. I think we all saw that coming when we saw the lineup today. You just knew that Perkins-Ortiz combi at the bottom of the order was going to come through.
  19. All the way through the summer of 1982, I was an optimistic, happy go lucky 6 year old. Game 7 of the WS was the beginning of my journey to becoming an angry and jaded adult. And although I've mellowed out and have general happiness, I still hate the Cardinals the most.
