  1. I refuse to answer on the grounds that I may Incriminate myself by sounding like I think highly of any Cubs, especially PCA.
  2. I missed most of Miz's start on 7/26 (traveling). But I don't recall watching 8 straight K's before. It gives me hope Miz-Harrison-Henderson can carry them in the postseason. Never been inpressed with Hall. I keep wanting him to be better and he keeps letting me down.
  3. Agreed. I usually just follow the minors through reports (mostly on here, thanks to those that do it) and highlights on MLB network. But I been watching some games this summer, mostly Biloxi. He looks the part and really does it all. Outside of Made, he was the guy I was most excited to see progress. And the last place I want to see him do well is St Louis. Im going to keep an open mind and see how May does, but it still doesn't sit well with me.
  4. Im glad Bauers didnt get an at-bat there because he clearly should be hitting behind Yelich and Contreras everyday.
  5. Chourio walking and Vaughn coming through against the righty isn't as usual as Id like it to be. But Ill take it.
  6. Contreras moves for no reason to give up the run and Turang jogs to cover first. Terrible.
  7. I dont have a problem with either the TV or radio guys generally. I dont like Dillard doing games at all but hes fine on the postgame show. That said. Sproat is clearly starting to fall apart, we've all seen it before. He gets behind in the count and throws a fastball right down the middle. BA is amazed by it and saying he has "ace stuff". It was a little ridiculous, not only because it was a poorly placed pitch, but also because I think we could all see what was coming.
  8. He doesn't seem to have the mentality. Right after giving up the soft hit, I said hes going to walk the next guy, and he did. Also, if you're unlikely to get a hit, dont challenge the first pitch, Hamilton.
  9. Annoyed they gave up Ragsdale, happy this is the last Sproat start of the season.
  10. If we have 10 Lambos and need to give some away, we should have been able to get Skubal.
  11. 2 years in a row with an era+ below 100. I dont want him starting game 2. If thats the plan I like this trade even less.
  12. And there are 3 OF spots. And Frelick, Blake Perkins, Lockridge, and Matos all got playing time out there this year. And this is the first time Mitchell has ever stayed healthy.
  13. Hate this trade. Im down to trade prospects for difference makers. For a below average starter and an average middle releiver, Id rather keep Ragsdale. If I wouldnt be excited to give a starter the ball in October, Id rather keep prospects. Im not excited to give the ball to May in October.
  14. Heres what Id say to anyone on the roster that might be upset with the front office Contreras - run out a gorund ball and Ill listen to your concerns Vaughn - if you want the team to improve hit righties better, be thankful we turned your career around Bauers - you're having a great year, but we resurrected your whole career, just be grateful Turang - ill listen Pratt - we gave you big money unproven and you haven't been up long enough to be upset 3b platoon - hit better DH - youre the biggest reason we dont have salary flexibility besides market size Mitchell - just worry about staying healthy Chourio - stop watching strikes and swinging at balls Frelick - there's the weightroom, use it, and then get back to me Lara - See Pratt And if a pitcher is sad someone didn't come take their job then I want someone more competitive Luckily, none of these guys are complaining, its just fans upset at failed trades projecting their feelings on to others.
  15. This is all the more reason to hope he fails miserably. When he loses the deciding game of the WC series for them Im going to pour myself a drink, image the unforgettable Greg Council rubbing his head with his hat, and reminisce about his no trade list.
  16. I feel bad for the people that have read this same exact post in multiple threads, including, for some unknown reason, the game thread. We get you have feelings about your perception of others feelings. I wonder in Henderson and the guys that came up with Henderson are sad they didnt trade him for a rental. If our highest paid player is sad, I would tell him to live up to his contract so the rest of us aren't sad watching him ground to second. If any of these other grown men are sad they didn't improve the team they should just put it upon themselves to play better. Be the change you want to see in the world and whatnot. If you think this is the year they should have been more agressive with giving up prospects to go for it, thats valid. You can make an argument for that. Personally, Im on the fence, it depends on what and for who. But if you want to drone on about feelings, we've already heard it. Grown men shouldn't feel bad for themselves because someone better than them didnt get hired at their job (and I highly doubt that they are). The should man up and be better instead.
  17. If the Brewers go on a win steak the race could get real far real fast. If you take out the ifs, the Brewers were up 5 games on July 2nd, They are up 6.5 games on August 2nd. F' the Cubs.
  18. This is the game thread. There is an entire trade forum with multiple threads.
  19. If it was a team full of spoiled 8 year olds, they might consider it. Fortunately, they are not.
  20. Hes been their best hitter most of the year. I agree, your best hitter doesnt hit 5th. Though I dont think Murphy has made a lineup with Yelich of Contreras hitting below 4th.
  21. But the more hits he gives up, the more total pitches he throws. He still had go get the outs that inning with his fastball. The cutters for hits were just extra pitches.
  22. They have a lot of good hitters. But they dont have anyone scary, no one gets pitched around. Not that that is available.
  23. I feel like 90% of the hard hit balls off Miz are cutters. Can we just put that pitch on hiatus, fix it in the lab, and bring it bacl next year?
