  1. This is why I hate Bauers - Yelich 2 and 3. It leaves open the lefty specialst option. Hopefully Contreras counters it
  2. The whats matter, the hows and the whys dont. 5ip, 1 run? Ill take it. Hoped for more innings and mire dominance, but Ill take it.
  3. I was fine going Hall here, warmed up and hes been great.
  4. Yeah, thats situation awareness. Stumbling changes everything, but he didnt hesitate. Would have rather had 2 shots to score him from second with Chourio and Bauers.
  5. Exactly. There are going be be hard plays, and the team that makes the most of them are more likely to win.
  6. Hard play. But hard plays are going to have to be made in order to win the WS.
  7. It shouldn't have. Unless he was so baffled as to why Frelick was risking taking the bat out of his hands with a risp.
  8. I live outside of Tampa, and will also be at game 4. The stadium is sort of by itself, there isnt much around there. Ive never had an issue parking so I didnt pay close attention to alternatives, but I vaguely remember parking areas outside the the official stadium parking. Get there early and you should be able to figure something out. Though if you are staying in St Pete, Uber might be the way to go, idk.
  9. The first baseball season that I remember was 82, as a 6 year old. Its when I went to my first game at County Stadium. Ill never forget walking through the little tunnel and seeing the field for the first time. It was surreal. County Stadium became my favorite place in the world. We lived in Chicago (dad was born and raised in Milwaukee) and my aunt would mail me Brewers articles (80's internet). I was devastated when they lost the WS, and still maintained a healthy (?) hate for the Cardinals for the last 44 years. I think I thought they'd always be good and obviously didn't realize my own kids would practically be adults by the time they got back. Depending on where I was in life I was in and out as to how strictly I followed the Brewers (if I felt like I had time and $ for MLB pass). Before the 2018 season I made sure to buy the pass as I convinced myself Cain and Yelich moves were going to huge toward contending. My kids would watch the games with me and have ever since, especially my oldest. We would go see then play the Giants when we lived in SF, and since 2021 have always gone when they play the Rays (live outside of Tampa). In addition we have made it a tradition to go up to Milwaukee every summer to check out a game. Anyway, Im rambling. Milwaukee tickets and logistics were somewhat prohibitive. But Ill be at game 4* with my wife and oldest daughter (youngest didn't want to go). Its going to be a great family experience. Ill never forget watching the 82 series on TV with my dad and I hope my daughter remembers this the same way. Thats what it means to me. * If any of y'all are going to be there, let me know as you have a beer on me (Sprite or a hotdog if you are a teetotaller).
  10. That's exactly it for me. He's great at everything, except doing games. He has too many moments where it comes off like he's trying too hard. Hes a great middle reliever, just don't try to stretch him out.
  11. The Brewers are the best team in baseball. They are certainly better than the Cleveland baseball team. Poor weather can be an equalizer, or as you say, an advantage one way or another. The Brewers dont need that, they already have an advantage by being the best team. It would be terrible to give away a WS game on some weather fluke. Also, I have game 4 tickets in Tampa, f' Cleveland.
  12. I dont trust Woodruff's shoulder at all. But when hes healthy, none of those other guys have ever been better than him. * If you told me they were all healthy and asked me who would I rather have over the course of a season, it might not be him because I doubt he holds up physically. But if they were all healhty and I was asked who Id want for 1 or 2 innings over 7 games, its Woodruff. Also, hes been such a good Brewer for so long it would be great to get him a ring on the WS roster. But he'd have to be ready physically (currently, longterm doesn't matter for this), we dont need charity roster spots. * for example: May and Woodruff both missed 2024 with injuries Era+ the last 2 seasons May: 84, 85 Woodruff: 131, 141
  13. Cleveland isnt built for late October outdoor baseball. Go Rays!
  14. Just bought mine for game 4. For the next few days the Rays are my new favorite team. After that Im hoping they get swept so I can see the Brewers make history. I was planning on going to Milwaukee, but by the time I fly in (live an hour from St Pete) and pay those higher ticket prices, flights, car, etc, I'd be looking at almost 10k. Section 311, 3 tickets and parking was $1560 out the door. Also that stadium in St Pete feels weirdly small for MLB so the nosebleeds aren't as bad as other places. Their attendance is such that top deck isnt even sold in the regular season, completely empty, which is why Im guessing one of the reasons there are a ton of those tickets available. There aren't any season ticket holders up there.
  15. When hes bad, hes really bad. But overall, he's really good.
  16. Sometimes it feel good to be wrong. I was ready to replace Bauers, apparently I had no idea what I was talking about, and that's great.
  17. "Dogs" usually isnt a term used for baseball players. But they have a team full of them.
  18. Garrett Mitchell just staying healthy has to be the most underrated (nationally) keys to their success this year.
  19. Especially since Im sure the Dodgers are going to try to have another lefty face Bauers later and Vaughn gets so much better as the game goes on.
