While not optimistic at all, I really don't care how they finish the season per se. They could end up red hot and lose it all with the off days. Look at the 2023 Braves, finished a respectable 7-3 averaging nearly 7 runs per game. Then lost in four games while scoring a whopping 8 runs.

Hmmm. our long winning streak ended the day after the birth and we've been below .500 since.

Randy averaged nearly 6 walks per 9 innings through his first 5 years. Guess they should have moved him to the bullpen long before that time.

I would have preferred seeing Mono at second, Seigler behind the plate and Jansen at DH. And excuse me Mr. Rottino, do you honestly believe this lineup has no holes in it?

Your opinion which is fine. I might be too old school but I give a rip what a guys batting average is, or isn't. With how many guys tend to tank post-trade deadline, I don't even think those stats mean much.

He's still just a .202 career hitter versus lefties and has actually been slightly better against righties in his career.

I know Jansen is in theory a power threat at the plate, but I'm never going to be excited about acquiring somebody that was hitting .204. Kind of like all the people that wanted us to add Gallo back in the day. No thanks.

I'm sorry, but if I was a betting man, I would have put a quick bet on the Pirates with Fedde coming in.

Fedde was warming up and I have no confidence in a 2-run lead holding up if he's coming in next inning.

No but why keep Seigler just because he can catch? We don't typically have three guys capable of catching so I'm not going to start worrying about that now.

I'd keep three over holding onto Seigler.

I see some Bauers and Seigler pinch hitting in the 9th in our future.

He probably would have hit into a DP if swinging away the way he's "hitting".

You really do have to love how anybody can justify playing Seigler with an OPS below .500 vs. righties over Durbin with an OPS above .700 against said righties.

I actually would have sent Perkins down to play every day to try to get his stroke back.
