  1. His defense has been very strong lately so you can live with his offense when everybody else is contributing as they are right now. Regardless, he's clearly showing more offensive ability as well so it's just a plus.
  2. That start was beginning to remind me of the time Toronto left David Wells out to dry against the Brewers.
  3. I think I'd rather have Capra getting ABs than Cameron. Impossible to believe there isn't a better OF option out there somewhere.
  4. Need to win now or else Alexander will come in and do his anti-vulture thing and get tagged with another loss.
  5. Levering did say he was hitting .080 and he said Story hit in the .290s his last two years in Colorado. Guess he doesn't let facts stand in the way of his blabbering.
  6. Maybe he patterns his expectations after Peralta. If 5.1 is good enough for our "ace", it should be good enough for everybody.
  7. He's basically averaged 5.1 innings per start every year of his entire career. He is what he is at this point and nothing's going to change that.
  8. To date, probably Suppan but Yelich with three plus years to go has plenty of time to usurp that. The timing of the Yelich contract will always be what I hated most about it. Never a reason to do it then in the first place.
  9. If he was a free agent after this year based on his current performance, he'd be looking at a non-roster invite to spring training.
  10. They definitely don't advance with an open base. So a guy on 1st would go to 2nd but a guy on 3rd would be held there.
  11. For those who care to know unlike Levering, Story did not hit in the .290s the last couple of years in Colorado. Last year was .251 which was one of the reasons I thought the Red Sox were crazy.
  12. Keep bringing Alexander in these types of games and I'm pretty sure he could lose 20 games.
  13. I'm no expert in looking at this stuff, but it would seem to me he does have the power (exit velocity) in the lower part of the zone but he just can't elevate it at all.
  14. Yelich came into the game with the highest homer percentage on flyballs (7 of 18) in the league. He has top quartile exit velocity but can't help but pounding the ball into the ground. I know he's never been some kind of launch angle king but you'd still think with just a little adjustment with his swing path, his numbers ought to improve quite a bit.
